Seele OR Topaz? | Honkai: Star Rail Hunt Only 

You need supports. Topaz is a lot more future proof in that regard. +her passives with treasure searching and credits cashback are nice.

topaz, she needs less skillpoints , unlike seele, which would fit in well with your already skillpoint-hungry team.

Id say Topaz since Hunt characters guzzle Skill Points like nothing else and Topaz (from what we know) seems Skillpoint Positive at the cost of some damage

My vote goes to Seele only because you won’t get access to Topaz ascension materials until much later.

In terms of covering weaknesses for breaking, I'd argue Fire is more useful. So my vote is for Topaz. In terms of her Ascension materials that another commenter brought up, they should be on Jarilo-VI so that shouldn't be a problem, either. Same with her enemy drops(which you could also get from Assignments). I think the only thing you wouldn't be able to reach atm is Phantylia but I'd say that is Future Kekvin's problem not ours lol Edited to turn Jarilo-IV back into Jarilo-VI lol

i would say you should go for topaz because she is new and would be more fan for the hunt only challenge.

For future proofing, I would say Topaz. I sincerely believe she will help with her follow up attacks, since she attacks (after ult) everyone you focus fire and get more attacks in. Unless Seele is built to oneshot, she will only attack once per turn (and eat skill points). However, Trace materials... You wont get everything for Topaz until you reach Phantylia, where Seele gets hers much earlier. Ascension mats is still in Belobog and Herta so it should be possible to get them ascended and leveled up!

Shoeshang is so fucking hilarious to hear everytime, it pissed me off a bit at first but at the end of ep3 I'm on the brink of waking up my gf with laughter every time I hear SHOESHANG. Amazing series, hope you'll continue it along with HARMony only.

I think you will have more use with Topaz, she is kinda of a support and you could use that on a hunt account, ans maybe we will have a Hunt character with following attacks ( better than Yan Qing ) and Seele is super great but she is « just » a carry, with Dan Heng and Sushang you Already have damages

I vote for Topaz because she does good damage and is very useful in simulated universe with her passives, she can also buff yanqing follow up atks when u get him eventually. As a seele main, she is very sp hungry, topaz will definitely be more supportive to your units and even future characters since she is sp positive. Altho i’d advise going for both if u can hahahhaa good luck!!

Topaz is better then seele in your situation i think. Due to her being very skill point positive as much as a hunt character can be. The second reason is that she would really benefit from follow up attacks from Yanqing when you get him. Plus I would say fire weakness is somewhat common.

Ig seele will be a better option as topaz has a kit that revolves around follow up attacks and her hit adds more value the more number of follow up attack characters you have Seele is easy to play and fits the perfect definition of hunt killing enemies before the take a turn :) 😊

Seele is more practical, as the only other hunt character with follow up attacks is Yanqing. You also would be limited in how much you can ascend and level up Topaz’s traces, which may cause significant difficulty in progressing through the story to get access to the required materials to strengthen Topaz.

I think that having 3 characters that need to consume SP every turn to show their best will put you in trouble, ESPECIALLY Seele. Like the best thing about her is her extra turns which means more SP and that definitely won't work (unless you treat Dan Heng and Sushang as SP generators- ) Topaz on the other hand is a very SP friendly unit with a respectful damage. She also have future value like imagine more hunt units with follow-attacks will come in the future... That'd be very interesting and exiting if you get Topaz.

Seele Her damage is so big She can get a free turn after killing an enemy, her Resurgence talent can boost damage Her ultimate can literally one shot most enemies She may consume a lot of SP, but her damage is good Her technique can help avoid enemy fights

We’d have to say that you’d be better off with Selee, given Topaz’s kit is primarily built for synergies with follow up units like Himeko and Herta, Selee makes the most sense for your account plus you’ll have access to quantum which is always helpful against enemies.

I vote Seele, Topaz is more like a support-dps. She will shine if your ID is already build and have some follow-up attacker which i guess future hunt char wont have it more soon. Seele would be safer and her advanced forward from basic attack is nice for being skill point generator😂.

I'd say topaz is better long term, as she is somewhat of a follow-up buffer if any other future hunt does follow ups, but at the very beginning and overall I'd say seele should be better damage-wise

I would say Topaz is the better option. Seele is one of the best quantum DPS s in game but currently I think Topaz would be more beneficial for your account as she helps *A LOT* with exploration and majority of bosses and elite enemies in the Simulated universe have fire weakness including Svarog and the Ebon Deer. I think my choice is Topaz, because Cocolia and Svarog both have fire weakness, plus she has a bit more utility for the long run.

Topaz Is much more future proof. She will get better every time a new follow up character is released, as for seele just needs one similar enough hunt character to be powercrept, and only gets better with hypecarry supports (which help every other hypecarry the same) but right now you can't use her that well, so if you need to advance yhis account, seele might be better.

Go for Topaz since ur very low on supports and Svarog is weak to fire and Phantiliya should be weak to fire also and the deer is weak to fire so Topaz is the better option

Get topaz she boosts follow up damage and a imagine hunt that does follow ups is coming soon

Seele is the stronger option but also the most boring, because it'll basically mean that the rest of the team will be skill point generators while she takes a million turns killing everything. Topaz on the other hand is SP positive and will allow everyone to shine, which is usually the goal with those accounts. Besides, Numby will be very fun to watch in exploration. There's a bigger chance Topaz has good synergy with future hunt characters, while Seele will be forever a selfish carry.

I’m excited to see you get to Phantylia. The game makes you use Jing Yuan, and if you don’t own him yourself, you can’t make any alterations to his gear. And since you lose if he dies, it makes it so that building your own characters doesn’t really help that much. I’m trying an easier Destruction-only account (just started, so I missed out on Danheng) and I had to cheat by bringing (a very weak) Natasha, JUST to keep Jing Yuan alive. I’m curious to see if you can pass it without that, since the boss has so many scripted party-wide AOEs.

So he chose Topaz? It’s a good way to make up for the Free Dr Ratio cause he can do a lot of damage plus synergies well with Topaz. If Seele was your option then there’s no synergy between her and Ratio, plus consume even more skill points

Topaz I think would be more helpful, just for her sp funneling capabilities so your other hunt units can use their skills to dish out more dmg while also her doing respectful dmg even basic attacking since numby is the one doing all of the dmg, of course seele is also very good with her single target dmg and resurgence extra turns.

I know its too late for me to tell my opinion since this was made 6 months ago, but i would’ve picked Topaz anyway because she can also work as a support and early game, ennemies often have fire weakness and not so much quantum

i think topaz is a future proof option because of her marked passive giving 50% follow up dmg boost to the enemy. maybe in the future theres another follow up dmg focused hunt characters

i'd go for Topaz. supports are a little more future proof. and the treasure finding/credits thing could be really useful! plus there aren't really that many fire characters in generally or that are good (and that you can use for Hunt only) edit: about ascension materials since i saw a comment on it, can't you exchange those for the one you need? i had a ton of quantum mats but changed them into mats for Welt.

Seele is the safe option. But with Topaz you get Numby too, meaning you got an extra unit.

Well, there prob will be a lot to consider. If I was in your situation, then I would probably go for Topaz. Firstly, all of the other hunt characters spend a lot of skill points, while Topaz will be able to freely spam her basic attacks to deal good damage, since it not only is considered to be a follow-up attack with one of her ascension passives, but also will always advance Numby. Both Dan and Sushang, and also Yanqing have to use their skills almost all the time to deal dmg, and that is very valuable and there will not be any fights between who should use last skill point. Second, her element is great at countering Lofu I believe, especially later fights. And fire break sounds a little bit better in my opinion, especially if memory of chaos will have another dot buff. Third, she seems much better in simulated universe, since she may deal a lot of dmg with elation buffs, plus she gives some more fragments in universe, which can sometimes help a lot. Seele does have a higher dmg potential, but she is mostly the best if someone supports her. She must be main dmg dealer, or else she would not kill, and if she doesn't kill, she becomes much worse. Topaz, on the other hand, feels more like a sub dps, meaning she will nto take main role in the team. Especially on this challenge account, role fulfillment is very important. Like, on nihility only, Kafka and Welt kinda take role of main dps, while Wolf and Sampo take sub dps roles, and Luka with Pela just exist. On hunt only, it is gonna be and is much worse. I would still rather tried my best to get much more gems. You still have 21 days when banners come out to get both of the girls.

Go for seele as except for yanqing I can't think of any other hunt character who does follow attacks which is the main part of topaz s kit

I was all in for topAZZZZ at first but after some time...i believe Seele is the better choice bc 1. she's literally what got me into HSR to begin with & 2. topASS is debuting so her rerun should come sooner than later.

Seele since Topaz is a decent dps + follow-up attack support. But there’re no hunt follow-up attack character (Yanqing one is so bad af). Seele is a great dps. It’d help your run more than Topaz. So going for Seele then try your remaining jade and luck to Topaz

Seele, She's still meta, easy to build, Quantum relices are made for her. I would only consider topaz because more enemies are weak to fire and she could be crazy in SU on Elation, but that'll be mute for you until you get more follow up attacking hunt characters. Seele best gurl

Seele is probably better because it is unlikely that topaz will bring that much future value as it is not likely that there would be a follow up attacker to synergise with topaz as the follow up attacker could be of a different path and Seele just can do high damage and help clear mobs better with her resurgence and just does high damage in general + the hunt lightcone on the herta shop works well with seele

Seele needs a lot of support, I don’t think you could do it with only hunt.

I would say go for topaz, not only bc numby counts as a seprate unit effectively giving u 2 characters but also bc topaz is very sp friendly and hunt usually uses alot of those plus from what i remember there are more enemies weak to fire than quantum, supporst r often more future proof than dps are but ofc there is the slight issue of when u can access topazs mats

I say go for selee since people are more familiar of her kit and topaz will be a brand new character it will be hard to judge her kit form the first few days

I would Topaz just because she has more attacks. Seele relies on killing/breaking in order to get her bonus attack, but Topaz gets bonus attacks so easily. For general damage and wave clearing, Seele. But I am certain Topaz would come in CLUTCH with trying to beat bosses. Purely because her extra attacks don't reply on weakness breaks/kills.

However, she is very skill point positive, since her normals are considered follow ups On the other hand Seele is very SP hungry, especially since she is super strong at finishing enemies, but I doubt they are going to power creep her so early (at least as a hunt unit) I personally think Topaz is better long game since hunt units really like SP, but you also can't get there if you can't even progress in the game (also, both of them are the only hunt of their elements, so you will miss someway or another)

In my opinion you should pull seele. She can be main dps but from what I remember topaz is sub dps Since you only have sushang and dan hang you should pull seele as main dps, she easly can handle strong bosses

Obviously Seele, as Topaz excels if you pair her with other followup dps. problem is, as of now there are no other Hunt character that focus on followup attack. We have... Yanqing followup? Sushang followup? those are not their main damage source so... maybe not as effective.

wait for a week or 2 then summon what u think is best for your account. edit: after watching the whole vid go for topaz for the sp recovery and once u get the ice kid topaz can support him

since hunt characters are so single-target focused, the double-action skill on seele would make things much easier. plus, u can actually get her materials!!!

I think topaz will help a lot on SU and some fire weak enemy on the future.

i was originally thinking seele was better because you cant really get any other followup attackers to synergize with topaz, but after more consideration, i think topaz is the better option, her technique is great for finding chests and grinding credits, shes a reliable basic attacker so you dont have to worry as much about skill points, and numby can be the mascot of the series

Id say seele personally since she seems like a better dps and you might not be sure where topaz has her ascension mats if its not confirmed yet.

If it was just for sim universe then maybe topaz but her whole thing is buffing follow up attacks, so without the ults counting as a follow up shed kinda be useless so I'm voting for seele

Ideally both, otherwise you wont be clearing much, theres only 4 hunt characters + topaz will be 5th and maybe in 1.8 or even later we get the next one, unless you decide to allow abundance outside of story mode itll be so hard to clear side content, what with hunt having 0hp per character.

as a huge fu hua simp i vote for topaz. seele is amazing, but kind of selfish while topaz on paper looks like a great addition to a lot of future teams and scenarios

I would say Seele, cause Topaz is a fire element one and I think there are more fire characters that I think eventually will come out to be hunt type, while on Quantum there are only 5 characters so far and only 2 of them are 4*. Also, Seele gives speed and extra hit chances which when you are in a tight position can be of great help.

Topaz for sure. Seele's ONLY use case is damage while Topaz has several different uses like buffing and decent-to-good damage along with being skillpoint positive. As for people saying you don't get her ascension materials until later, you can synthesize them even if that is true but she will probably just use things from Jarilo-VI.

It's hard to choose between the two for Hunt only. Topaz is follow up atk support and dps, she can carry to an extant and also future proof. Seele on other hand is good dps who can carry well, also skill point hungry and one important thing is for Hunt only is she really good in Simulated universe all by her self. Also I don't know in Hunt only if you are going to farm the SU, are only restricting yourself to Hunt path only or are you going to use other paths as well. If Hunt path only Seele is a better choice for clearing it. Getting both of them is ideal but yeah the Jades problem.

I‘d say that Topaz is a follow up attack character and to trigger her main DPS is to use follow up attacks and speed up *her* follow up attack.now there is one problem, Topaz can be worse than Seele if you have no follow up attack characters. For now, i think you should go for Seele since there are no hunt follow up attack characters announced even in leaks yet

I mean in SU, you can just have a lot of buffs.. so clearing the game hunt only in SU is not that bad... Also for me, I guess Seele is more of a choice here? since her materials can be in the game early.. and the fact that Herta LC is perfectly fitted for her, makes her New player friendly..

Honestly, this is up to you. If you're going for a more sustainable team Topaz would be better as she is more skill point efficient but you might need some time to get her trace materials. While if you're going for a more offensive team Seele would be a great unit as she does a large amount of damage. But for me, I think Topaz would be a better option as she gives slightly more value to the team.

Seele is a dps who just does raw damage while topaz can also be a support becuz numby counts as a follow up attack. Either way, both are good, I suggest you try to get both since a lot both can be useful in different situations

You could roll for them both alternating so it's fully up to chance and nobody will be upset if you choose one

For the current content, I'd say Seele is the king (or you know... the queen). No other Hunt character comes anywhere near her in terms of sheer power. Moreover, the Hunt calyx has enemies weak to Quantum (but also weak to Wind and Phys, which you already got covered - but also you're gonna farm SO MANY hunt calyxes lol). Quantum overall seems to be Hoyo's favourite child, so a lot of enemies have a Quantum weakness (also the Swarm in Swarm Disaster is natively weak against Qua iirc). In Sim Universe, Seele on a Path of Hunt or Propagation should help you DESTROY the enemies and unlock many rewards more easily. On the other hand, I get the impression that the upcoming Penacony is going to have more enemies with Fire weakness, plus Topaz has an interesting kit and Numby. Topaz should also be less SP hungry than other Hunt units. FYI, there is an upcoming Imaginary Hunt character who should have some form of RNG-based follow up attacks.

I think the biggest benefit of Topaz is that she's flexible enough to switch between SP positive and SP negative which is a benefit for the teams which only have hunt.

Topaz = more skill point efficient, but there will probably never be another follow up attack on the hunt path so no synergy.

Seele is probably going to be the best choice as Topaz seems to be more suited to a late-game account, from what I can tell. She's not made to be a main-DPS, she's supposed to make other characters' follow-up attacks better, given you don't have follow-up attacks it could be a waste. That being said, she kinda is half a support which could be great given even wind Dan Heng can 0 cycle MOC 10 (i've seen it and it was an E2 Dan Heng even so not unreachable) if built correctly. So I guess the question is: do you want another main DPS for this account? If yes then Seele all the way. If you want something else, then Topaz might be a better choice. I'd wait until a few days after she releases to actually make your choice though! After her release a lot of people will be able to give more accurate input. Regardless of who you pull, they'll help you access later content and as such, earn more jades. That could help you snatch the other one anyway ^^

They both have their own advantages and disadvantages. Seele is an amazing DPS but she isn't that futureproof. Topaz is more of a support that'll help follow up characters a lot but there aren't any follow up attack hunt characters. She is however, very futureproof. Even tho Topaz is amazing, Seele would help your account a bit more, you could just make things disappear among the sea of butterflies. There is however always a chance for a follow up hunt character to be introduced to the game. I'd say that you should go with seele and then try for the lighcone. You don't have to get the LC tho, just try to get as many copies of Swordplay as you can. It is amazing.

Personally topaz for me element wise fire will be useful as quantum is usually paired with physical but that is only my observation so. For the future both of them are good but we can't guarantee how they will turn out. Both of them require a particular team to unlock their full potential one with follow up and other hyper carry which requires many support which can't be used here But topaz is more skill point efficient While seele costs alot of skill points and your hunt characters already take alot skill points And topaz feels more complete to me Personally but she is also a new character who might work not out as we don't have enough information on her Oh yeah her ascension materials can't be unlocked now but we can exchange one ascension material for the other so that problem will not be there. I will be pulling for topaz Hopefully everybody gets the characters they want. Good luck choosing.

If you can't do both, i would say seele, because quantum + wind is a very good combination for weakness

Seele for sure, if you’re running hunt only characters in your account, then u wouldn’t really utilize her core kit which is buffing follow up attacks. The only hunt character that can use her buff so far is Yanqing, and that is still by chance. Unless they release another follow up hunt character, I don’t think she’s a priority. Besides, most of the F2P hunt lightcones are tailored to Selee, so it’s more playable than topaz.

I’d say seele because she could clear enemies super easily and would be great for future bosses (or enemies) you’ll have to face in the future

def topaz. Less skillpoints, useful passives + support based kit, etc. One of the issues abt her though is that you can't really level her talents up as high as you would be able to with seele, but even then she's still the better pick here.

I would vote Seele, while a lot of people are saying Topaz seems like somewhat of a support, to my knowledge she supports follow ups, and she is currently the only hunt with Follow ups, the only major benefit tp her is skill point possitivity. Meanwhile Seele will do a lot in nearly any situation, and quantum break is quite common
