Seestern s430 the 39mm tudor pelagos homage in titanium

Got mine today, the blue one, and I have to say that there's no video that can make justice to the sheer beauty of this piece. The lume is a real party and the watch overall so sleek. They have fixed the wristband. The clasp has now the holes in the right position and there are no extra drillings. The titanium band's edges are sharper than accustomed but i ended up liking it. The 39mm body sits like a feather on my wrist. The bezel has a little play but I can live with that because the smoothness and the sound of the operation make it up for me. The titanium is appallingly fragile though. A little slip of any tool while adjusting the bracelet and you're done. Adding and removing links is a breeze thanks to the screwable rods, they should become the industry standard. There's no way I'm wearing this one for a field trip or sports session, because it would take a little to scratch it, I'm even concerned about sand. This is my first titanium so I don't know yet whether to blame the bezel's play and the fragility of the metal on Seestern or titanium itself. I'm happy with the purchase and time will tell whether the watch was reliable or no, oh the irony.

Not sure how I ended up here, but quite an interesting video! As a Pelagos 39 owner I'm struck by a few things. Firstly, a 200m diver with a Seiko automatic movement, in titanium, with a fully lumed bezel - actually seems like really good value! Many of the good design elements from the Pelagos 39 are present here, the female end links, titanium construction for light weight (it actually weighs less than the Pelagos 39). The snowflake hands and unframed indices for excellent visibility. I can totally see why somebody might consider it, especially at the price point. Personally I'd probably go for an original Seiko design in that price range because I'm not much of a fan of straight up homage watches, but I'm struggling to think of an original Seiko/Citizen/etc with all of the attributes this offers. Interesting watch!

Got it yesterday and changed to rubber straps instantly because the sharpness of the bracelet. A little filling on the bracelet needs to be done. All you have said is truly spot on and honest.

I received my watch a couple of days ago and I think you did a great job with your review! I almost completely agree with your review of this watch. First the bezel, like most Titanium watches it is not very good, very light action and loose with a little back play, just not a very good feel to it. Then the clasp. Like yours, mine has the big gap! At first I thought it was just because of the way I sized the bracelet, taking out too many links on one side but no it doesn't matter, this is the way it is! The clasp is very small and not very good. There is room for huge improvement here. They definitely need to fix this with version 2! The crown on mine was a real problem, it was hard to unscrew and very hard to pull out. I finally got it pulled out and then the winding was very stiff and noisy, I got the NH38 by the way. I have other Seiko NH movements that turn buttery smooth, not this one. The overall feel of this watch is exactly what you expect from Titanium, very light and jangly. I'm actually a big fan of Titanium so not really a problem for me. What is a problem is the size. I was kind of shocked by how small it is. At 39mm, this is the smallest watch I own. I like bigger watches so I'm going to have to get used to this. I do think overall they did a great job with this watch. It definitely looks like the real thing. I like the dial much better on this watch than the one on the Octopus. For the price paid I think this watch is worth it but they definitely need to improve the clasp.

Thanks for the review. This makes me glad I got the Octopus Kraken version instead of this one. 😅 The bracelet and clasp on the Octopus Kraken look much better (the bracelet links also fully articulate) and the bezel action is very good.

The version i received had a second set of holes drilled higher up the clasp to make the gap smaller. Not ideal, and obvious that it was a mistake, but it makes it less of an issue. V2 should be lots better.

Good news, received replied from Seestern saying they are working on new clasp for this and will send 1 to me once released from factory.

Good looking watch. I really like titanium, but that clasp is a deal breaker.

After your video I am glad I ordered the octopus. Although I don’t have it yet to know if it is better.

I ordered the Seestern from their website and it never arrived. Customer service also non existent. Should have known.

Looks like there are about of sharp edges and hot spots on bracelet.

I got the octopus version and I think that may be the better version.

The TF bezel is supposed to be bidirectional.

Take the strap out and replace it with a NATO strap. There’s a lot better options out there than their standard strap that comes with this watch and, it’ll look so much better.

The dial and the bezel insert look nice, but that "Titanium" and "LIMITED EDITION" text ruin the face. I would consider if in a V2 those 2 libes would be removed. A shorter video would be great. I appreciate seeing the watch in actual daylight, rather than rendering or touched up studio photos. But no need to see the whole process of unwrapping etc. Could edit some parts out for a better video.
