SEGA DISCONTINUING Hedgehog Engine 2, Remaking/Remastering ALL Previous Games With Unreal Engine 5?!

If unleashed project is in the works we need remaster or enhanced port at least. Sonic unleashed is my first and favorite game ever but I have to acknowledge that even the wherehog is a issue, I think why people hate the wherehog is his speed but he is not a slow fighter but a bad platformer. His jump and double jump have a terrible lag what makes it short and also grabbing legdes had it and you had to walk slow. If you would ask me they should cut the levels into 4 acts and make them optional, and fix day time sonic jump lag frame rate and controls and maybe the graphics a bit better make the progression system 3X faster and give the wherehog a mode where you can try out you moves.

First I was not sold on it but I saw Unleashed in UE4 and it look and played better than the original. But can they remaster or port the game in a different engine don’t they have to remake the game in a different engine ?

Yep. It would be the Sonic design controversy all over again. That and people are getting sick of seeing the female form in films be poisoned by politics and cancel culture. It would be refreshing to see a traditional woman again.

Sega games on Nintendo consols are the best

The series' connection with the historical console war between Nintendo & SEGA is the reason why Sonic performs super well on Nintendo platforms. Although I do prefer the series being multi-platform. They did try making Nintendo exclusives... it didn't go well.

Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 getting remade is more likely (I think to tie in with a possible Sonic Movie 5 and for the 30th anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast) Sonic 06, I'd doubt it'll happen as Sega-ATLUS is ashamed of that game, there's Sonic P-06 from ChaosX so I'd go with that as the Sonic 06 reimagined

I'd like a Silver spin off. They could explore his future more and his psychic abilities more. Also I'd like a Blaze spin off too. I'd like to see more of Sol dimension too. If I think about it, an Eggman spinoff could be cool too! Where you could take over the world, fight Sonic and build robots.

I feel like Sonic is def here to stay so long as it makes money, and the movies have played a huge factor in making the franchise more popular and mainstream. Even my co-workers were excited about Sonic x Shadow Generations which surprised me (also it being played in Sony's State of Play was a big move, because that's a very well known digital presentation)

@@GamerGuyd7Aces Sonic’s is going to be around regardless on who owns the IP, just as long that it makes money like you said. It’s what comes out of the IP that leaves people wondering is it good to invest or not. It ultimately comes down to if SegaSammy continues seeing value in Sonic to make that money until running it dry or another “06” comes along. In a sense, it’s pretty much why I’m so distant from Sonic after all these flops. Waiting nearly a decade with baited breath for 7 or 6 out of 10 Sonic games just doesn’t suit me. And I know I’m not the only one, friends of mine are leaving Sonic because they feel he isn’t worth it anymore.

I was not sold on it first but I discovered that there is a unleashed version built in UE4 and it looks great so I believe that we can replicate or surpass Unleashed

At this point in time, the Hedgehog Engine is 16 years old and it's age is starting to show, and if Sega-ATLUS wants to go back and remaster Sonic Unleashed, they'll use that game to tie in with a possible Sonic Movie 4 and to give the Hedgehog Engine a send off. It's like how VALVe has been using the Source Engine since Half-Life 2 and that engine is 20 years old (and pretty dated) and Bethesda has been using the creation engine for many years and hasn't retired them yet. The Hedgehog Engine was made with the boost gameplay in mind and the pop ins where there to prevent crashes, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, Sonic Forces and even Sonic Lost World (even though SLW was it's own thing like Sonic Heroes) where made for that Engine where as Sonic Frontiers' open zone wasn't (Cyber Space showed that and how there where no Pop ins in the Cyber Space zones just open zone) using Unreal Engine for the Sonic Adventure Remakes and Sonic Frontiers 2 would make more sense as it won't have as much pop ins and have tested it with Persona 3 Reload and Unreal seems to be more reliable for such games rather than the Hedgehog Engine.

Honestly I really hope that Silver will be playable in the next mainline Sonic game! Also maybe they could add him and Blaze as part of a team in the Sonic Heroes remake if they'll decide to include new teams.

Fun fact: we were originally going to have a different Werehog battle theme for each continent the level took place in. But we only ended up with the one for Empire City being used for all of them.

I'd rather if Sonic Unleashed got remastered and Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 got remade instead of Sonic Heroes. This is because Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas used RenderWare and got remastered using Unreal Engine 4, Sonic Heroes used RenderWare and I feel that if got remastered using Unreal Engine 5 We could see another Sonic Colors Ultimate Situation. Plus Remaking Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 using Unreal Engine 5 with the current cast (Roger Craig Smith, Mike Pollock and new dialogue written by Ian Flynn to be close to the Japanese dialogue) have it be a tie in to Sonic Movie 5 and the 30th anniversary of the Dreamcast would be great, where as Sonic Unleashed Remastered would tie in with Sonic Movie 4 and give the Hedgehog Engine a Viking send off as Sonic Unleashed was the first game to use the Hedgehog Engine

For Unleashed, We could see Jason Griffith, Amy Palant, Jay Snyder (Dan Green) Lisa Ortiz and Tony Salerno reprise their role as Sonic, Werehog, Tails, Amy, Prof. Pickle and Chip in a Sonic Unleashed remastered (Sonic Unleashed and Knuckles) but if We get Episode Knuckles, then I think Dan Green will reprise his role as Knuckles and we find out where Knuckles was in Sonic Unleashed. As for Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 getting the Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy 7 Remake treatment, most likely We're going to see Roger Craig Smith, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Dave Mitchell, Cindy Robinson, Kyle Heybert, Kirk Thornton and Karren Strassman reprise their roles as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, Shadow and Rouge and new actors for E-102 Gamma, Tikal and Maria, TBH I think having new dialogue written by Ian Flynn to match the Japanese dialogue for Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Adventure 2 would be nice (kinda like what the English dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai did for Dragon Ball Z.) Of course Mike Pollock is going to do both Adventure remakes and Unleashed Remastered

@@1upGaming1up @1upGaming1up Ya Mike is already a lock in while Jason has helped with the Sonic N Tails R fan project so he should be an easy pick for Unleashed. Honestly throughout Unleashed story, the only characters that are really essentially are Sonic, Chip, and Eggman. Chip old actor could return but if not, then hopefully the new one does well. I mean I think most folks wouldn't really mind Chip get a new voice change, especially since he hasn't really shown up since well Unleashed. Tails n Amy hasn't really got much screentime in Unleashed and I think most Dark era fans are already got used to Collen n Cindy as their respective characters anyways. Not saying I don't want the OGs to return, it would be cool if some of the 4kids actors return, but if Sega can't do it cuz business schedule or something else then I think having 2 og Unleashed actors n 3 new actors are fine. As for Knuxs, Dan Green would be a cool too. Even tho if Sega does bring in Knuxs episode, I kinda think Sega would stick to the current Knuxs mostly to save money. That or Dan might not be interested. Either way a Knuxs episode would be cool n honestly either actor could work as Knuxs. For Adventure, I like the idea of redoing the script to match the Japanese script. Still would like them to keep some iconic n funny lines from both SA1 n 2, but still ya how they match the Japanese script. Plus also remove some lines like Tails saying something cheerful in the end and ruining the mood for both SA1 n Sa2 endings. Only thing that the new actors have to do is still capture the OG's performance. Mike I have no doubt he'll do great as Eggman since he already got the menacing side of him right. Is just that Roger I'm worried about. Roger can capture the mature side of Sonic, but I don't think he really got the adventurous sauce Sonic imo. I'm all for new lines but still Roger gotta do well capturing the young daring blue hedgehog. As for Kirk as Shadow, honestly if he loosen the grunt noises like Forces, then Kirk would be solid. Collen is still the perfect Tails so I have no doubt she'll do well for the Adventure remakes, especially with the new lines. Cindy would be fine at capturing Adventure Amy's personality. Knuxs, kinda wish the OG came back. No hate to the current actor of Knuxs but I just take Adventure Knuxs a little more seriously because of chill stoick voice. The current one just sounds kinda obnoxious a bit when he buttheads with Sonic and it just made me eye roll everytime the man speaks. I will give the current actor of Knuxs a chance but I hope he tones down on being too arrogant when facing Sonic. Big, honestly would anyone really notice or care he got a voice change. If anything I think he's fishing mission might be sideline n not mandatory tbh. And finally Rouge, reaaalllyyy hope the current actor improve from Dream Team cuz she acting as Rouge sounded too much of Peach n just off as Rouge. I hope she brings in the sassy spy girl personality just like the Adventure era tho. If all the new actor manages to capture the og performance and add on improvement, then Adventure 1 n 2 stories is looking great

Probably not. Making your own engine takes lots of work so Sega might want to switch to a commercial engine. Persona 3 Reload, even though it's Atlus, switched from their own internal engine to UE4

Unreal Engine is far better

Honestly I think that's a good thing. We might not get pup ups as bad as the ones in Sonic Frontiers and they can finally focus on games looking and running better now.
