Before beginning, this Sega Mega Drive powered on just fine but gave a black screen for any game put into it, even after cleaning the cartridge port pins with isopropyl alcohol and emery cloth. It's been sitting in my pile of broken consoles for over a year, so I figured it was time to take a look and figure out what's wrong with it.
There's a lot of sped up bits in this video, so I decided to add some music, and figured since I'm working on a Mega Drive the music should be platform appropriate and one of my all time favourites!
Any feedback is welcome.

Disclaimer!
I am NOT an expert, I have genuinely NO idea what I'm doing, and mostly just glue things together and use a lot of Google-fu until stuff works. I've been tinkering with electronics since I was a kid, but have no formal training and will probably do things incorrectly. If you learn something from this, that's awesome, but trust me - I'm learning too!
