Daytona USA 2 is so good! in the original arcade version there was a setting for the second cab that turned it into a TV broadcast style race cam with live commentary about the race and wacky pit crew interviews! I recommend you look for some videos of this because it is the coolest thing ever!
Always great to see new people getting to run Daytona/SRC 2 thanks to the new port- and you definitely smashed it out of the park considering the car/transmission choice. I've managed to beat all tracks [normal and reverse- haven't done mirror yet] at least once with either the Scorpio AT or the Hornet MT, but to this day I've never been able to master the Phantom in Automatic, *let alone Manual*...so I can tell you definitely put a lot of work in to get this, congrats :]
honestly i dont really know how to drive any of the other cars fast but after learning how to not spin the method i ended up sticking to was to initiate drift with the gears and then just drive a clean line with realistic fundamentals, slow in, fast out and all that jazz it feels like you gain a ton of speed from drifting the phantom on corner exit so im mostly leaning into that and probably being a bit too slow on entry but it feels relatively safe to me that said i have absolutely no idea how you'd drive it in automatic considering im using the gears to initiate drift every time
@@CaroFDoom Yeah, it makes sense if you rely on gear drifts as that's virtually a key thing from Daytona games. You can get results with the Scorpio in AT but only if you are good with timing your brake drifts, and the Easy AT car since it has pretty good grip as long as you take good lines, but the Hornet is definitely, infinitely more optimal with Manual just like it was in Daytona 1 because of how more reliable gear shifts are for drifting But yeah, the Phantom is a pretty spicy car to keep on the road once you get it to drift, so again, good job on managing to get good grips wth it.
