Segisaurus Files Found In Jurassic World Evolution 2

Since 2024 seems to be the last year Frontier is supporting the game, the DLCs might be focused on bringing in the animals fans have been clamoring for for years. The Predator pack gave us four dinosaurs that have been wanted for a long time. Plus the remaining onscreen canon species need to come in, which Frontier seems to be spreading out in packs themed with them (Nothosaurus with Marine species, Tarbosaurus with Cretaceous Predators). Microceratus could come in a Little Species pack that includes Microraptor, Segisaurus, and Dilong, and Sino-Spino as the headliner of a Hybrid Pack that brings back our missing hybrid pals from Evolution 1. It's a stretch and a hope, but it's good to dream.

I think it could be scrapped. I am sad that Segisaurus probably won't be added, but if they want to make a legacy pack or something like that, they can include it alongside Microceratus or something.

I think out of all of thease microraptor is the most likely to come to the game and I think that would be super cool. I am glad they are thinking about some more less known species for the game though.

The Microraptor could be a neat addition, like a jeholopterus, for a Tiny Terrors like DLC.

I honestly hope it is for a future DLC(s), but I will keep an open mind if it is scrapped content. Because these are some unique choices, Austroraptor, would be the first piscivore that's not a spinosaurid or Deinocheirus to feed from the fish feeders, Dilong, a small relative of tyrannosaurs, probably about the size of an IRL Velociraptor, Microraptor, would be the first flying/gliding species in the game that isn't a pterosaur, and Segisaurus, a small carnivore from the Early Jurassic, which would round out the last Jurassic Park species.

I hope in the future we'll get a "Feathered Flyer Pack" with Microraptor, archaeopteryx, Tupandactylus, and Rhamphorhynchus or some other pterosaur

I really hope Austroraptor is added someday in a piscivore pack, the game could use more variety in piscivorous dinosaurs for wetland-themed builds (Masiakisaurus is another great candidate in this regard). It would serve as a real-life counterpart to the Spinoraptor.

Thank you for urging caution- I was gonna point out that Charono and Pachyrhino were in the files for the first game but never made it (well, officially, anyways). That being said, there were times when species from future DLCs showed up in the files ahead of time too- Spinoraptor was in JWE1 from launch. I think it’s interesting that these are all small carnivores- hoping it’s maybe evidence of a small carnivore pack?

Austroraptor is around the same size as Utharaptor so it would be super nice too. And I'm totally in for Microraptor.

Austroraptor and Microraptor would actually be fantastic additions. Austroraptor because it's big and has a distinct long snout. And Microraptor because it can glide and has iridescent feathers.

My gut is telling me scrapped content but I hope that Frontier considers revisiting some of these animals in future DLC / games. Especially Segisaurus. It would be perfect for Franchise pack that covers both books and movies. Segisaurus to cover the JP era movies, Microceratus for World and the novels. Ornithilestes for the second novel and maybe Hypsolophidon or Hadrosaurus for the first. That would be my dream pack right there.

I think this was accidentally put into the update, but are planned for future DLCs at least as of now.

Honestly I doubt this could be anything but cut content. I do hope that Segisaurus could be hint towards another expansion featuring Microceratus with it for a potential Jurassic Park Japan/Europe or an Isla Sorna expansion. As for the others, I'd trade Utahraptor for Austroraptor. At least Austroraptor would be more unique with it being a piscivorous dromaeosaur. As much as I like Utahraptor, it just boils down to being a better Pyroraptor. Same goes for trading Gigantoraptor for Microraptor. I like Gigantoraptor, but my problem with it is that it fits better in an Omnivore Pack, especially with its lacking hunt animations. Microraptor also gives us a potential chance to put meat feeders in the aviaries without mods.

I actually believe Moros took the place of Microraptor in JWD, which is why it’s so small. I think Dilong could maybe work if they went with the higher estimates and made it roughly Deinonychus or Coelophysis sized.

honestly the idea of Austroraptor makes me excited, but I seriously begin to doubt it, especially being found in the files like this. but this discovery was cool though ! thanks for sharing

I think Microraptor and Austroraptor would actually be great additions. One is a small gliding animal, and the other is a medium-sized piscivore. Segisaurus is a bit too similar to Coelophysis, and as you said, Dilong is very Moros-like.

You got to this pretty quickly! I saw the post on the bus home and now I’m home and the video appears.

The same thing happened all the way back before the camp cretaceous dlc: we had found voice lines for mono and scorpios in the files for the early cretaceous dlc, so who knows. Its 50/50 really.

I can see those species being added in the following packs: - Jurassic Predators Pack (Segisaurus) - Prehistoric Aviary Species Pack (Microraptor) - Cretaceous Piscivores Pack (Austroraptor) As for Dilong is kinda complicated unless they make a second feathered species pack which seems a bit unlikely.

I really hope they aren't scrapped as they're all such amazing species, and Austrolovenator would be an awesome piscivore!

This made me think that maybe they could be working on a tiny dinosaurs pack, where they could include some of these and finally give us the Microceratus

I think some of these would be great for a small dinosaur pack (minus austro) and it could also add microceratus like we’ve all been waiting for

Honestly the only two I'd like to see make into the game out these are Segisaurus and Microraptor. I know Segisaurus is just essentially just a smaller Coelophysis. But since only one fragmentary fossil has ever been found, and since it's been hinted at being part of the franchise for years; and we haven't officially seen what it looks like. I'd be very curious to see Frontier's take on it.

If there's one thing the Bethesda modders have taught us, it's that scrapped-but-still-in-the-code content is fair game for resurrection.

If these are sneak peeks, Microraptor and Dilong both being from china make me wonder if it’s going to be a Chinese new year dlc pack and could it include Microceratus?

Maybe these files are new dinosaurs in a update yet to come or a dlc since frontier is doing feathered dinosaurs more, such a fan of it, and cuz the files are already noted down and ideas it would or could be in the game in the future

Austroraptor probably would have looked very handsome keeping how Utahraptor wound up in mind.

I think the biggest chance would have Microraptor cause thats a candidate for a flying reptiles dlc . Since we already got another carnivore dlc i doubt we get dilong, segisaurus and austoraptor unless in a big dlc . We also got utahraptor recently so i doubt we see a big raptor like austroraptor anytime soon

What a fascinating discovery, thank you for sharing it with us Evo, I for one still think the Segisaurus could be added into the game one day, I never count out lore connected species, but regarding the issue of similarities to Compsognathus, their are three very simple solutions to that problem, give it distinct spikes like the Tarbosaurus, a sailfin and crest like the Deinoychus or the most likely one, feathers like so many other species already in the game, we’ve already gotten all of the other obscure species that were planned for the original Jurassic Park like the Herrerasaurus, the Troodon, the Proceratosaurus and even the Tylosaurus now, so why not this last one.

Also I think that the reason Chasmo And the pachyrinosaurus files were in JWE but weren't implemented where because they had them ready but moved them to JWE2

Cretaceous herbivore Pack: Argentinosaurus Shantungosaurus Ornithomimus Microceratus Jurassic Dinosaur Pack: Shunosaurus Torvosaurus Heterodontosaurus Segisaurus perhaps... Flying species pack: Microraptor Archaeopteryx Rhamphorynchus Tupandactylus (or Thalassodromeus...) And I insist, We need a decent feathered variant for Deinonychus

The worst part is that any of the 3 Cretaceous ones would of been a better predator choice than gigantoraptor, they should have saved him for another feathered species pack or something like that. Maybe an omnivore pack

Microraptor I’d be down for/would’ve been down for but the others, ehhh. I think there’s still lots of other creatures besides small/medium predators that ought to get in.

I think its scrapped content, more specifically I think its something they do to avoid leaks, for example, the announcer for smash bros said in an interview that he records the names for about 100 different characters, some do get in, some dont, maybe fronteir did the same thing, having the narrators say the lines of several dinos, some of which get in, and some are just throw aways

in all honesty the only one id like to be added; actually none (save for microraptor) because we already have dinosaurs almost identical to these right now the other three already have dinosaurs almost exactly like these so it'd just feel like weird additions, similar to how i felt about the atrociraptor, probably me least used small carnivore, yeah it was in the movie and i get that but thats the only reason a lot of people would want it imo i dunno i just like the wacky and unique dinosaurs like gigantoraptor

I‘d love to have Microraptor in the future. And smth I thought of is that the 1993 trike is ,aside from the 2022 carno and as far as I know, the only variant without frontier skins. So maybe they could add it in the next free update?

I sure hope this doesn’t mean more waiting for Microceratus. Its been my #1 most wanted since the first game.

Another possibility is that not only scrapped but scrapped due to some issues, sometimes developers would want to release something with a DLC as an addition but due to time management, as well as machine gods saying 'nope'. But a cow and pig feeder, a nice variation and not just seeing goats. However, one thing I want to see if we get more feathered species, this may seem odd but hear me out, whenever a feathered animal approaches lets say a viewing dome or a tour truck/car, they would approach and poof themselves up, of course trying to make themselves look bigger. On the other side, if you reach an excess of perfect comfort, they would sit and ploof up, like modern day birds. And for tour vehicles and trucks specifically, if they are a medium or dromeo, or in this regard specifically anything you can look into the eyes of, so lets say velicoraptors, they would jump onto the tour vehicle and just ride it, of course they get off before the car goes through the gate. If it isn't obvious, I would like to see more out of the animals besides walking and such, I want scratching posts, hay stacks. Dino riding, hand feeding stations.

It'll be really be a shame to see if these dinosaurs were scrapped in the game. If this is a sneak peak, then this looks like this might've been a DLC pack for small carnivores or something. This is just my opinion at least.

I think it is scrapped content. Especially Microraptor makes me think of that, because the last time we saw a bird cage with looping animation was the Aviary in JWE1 with the Jurassic Park DLC

Austroraptor and Microraptor could suggest that they were going to have a Raptor pack along with Utahraptor and Gigantoraptor which may suggest why Gigantoraptor was added to the Predator Pack even though it wasn't a predator. Dilong, Austroraptor, Microraptor, Gigantoraptor and Utahraptor could've been scrapped from the Feather Species Pack . If that was the case then Austroraptor, Dilong, Microraptor and Segisaurus could be added later. The pessimistic side of me believes that these audio files were left on purpose knowing that they would be data mined but the optimistic side hopes that they were left in by accident. On a side note: Now that two species I was hoping would be added to JWE 2, Utahraptor and Gigantoraptor, Microraptor is on my list of dinosaurs that I hope will be added sometime in the future (if at all *pessimistic me again*).

I'd like to have a jurassic park novel dlc because we'd get species and skin variants from the novel.

This definitely feels like a cut/future pack, thematically it's all small carnivores - that can't just be a coincidence.

Nice vid. I don't think these were scrapped but planned species in four different dlc packs, for example the files for each of these could be that Segisaurus is set in one of the Jurassic packs. Microraptor in an aviary dlc or Asia dlc. Austroraptor in a piscivore dlc and the Dilong in the same Asia dlc as Microraptor only if it is not in the said aviary dlc. 👨👍👍🐟🐊 I don't think the last dlc is far behind the next anyway.

Yk what i would really like in most of these park games? The ability to uave more than just myself in a park. Like allow people to have another friend or few to make a park all together etc

When I first saw this I was like what new species already

I just saw Swrze’s video on the dinosaurs that were name dropped in the database and realized that 4-5 of the dinosaurs were dinosaurs that got added in DLC’s

I'm thinking these were all scrapped during the conception of this DLC, which would be a shame, but it is the most likely scenario considering how often content can be created, but ultimately scrapped during a development processes, and sometimes they are accidentally left behind (cutting room floor website has a lot of good examples of this). Both Austroraptor and Microraptor have been somewhat common requests (though I think still outnumbered by the other common fan requests such as Concavenator, Utahraptor, etc that ultimately made the cut), as well as Segisaurus, from at least a few persistent folks that I've seen. Dilong feels like the only standout to me? I don't think I saw too many requests for that one, but it was from the Yixian like Yutyrannus and Sinosauropteryx. That said I do hope at least the other three can get in the game someday, perhaps through a piscivore (with Irritator, Oxalaia as a post 2020 Spinosaurus proxy, etc) and flyer pack (mostly pterosaurs), if not some other potential theming. Edit: Microraptor itself was even cut from Dominion sadly, where Moros had ultimately replaced its role.

The strangest part about the files is that their all small carnivores so while there probably scrapped concepts is it possible were getting a small carnivore pack?

i think possibly Segisaurus was not Scrapped content officially but it was sneak peek confirmed maybe in 2024 update or DLC something in the April? and Microceratus was maybe Upcoming in 2024 DLC in march?

I'm still gonna keep my fingers crossed they will make a dlc that's all small dinos( microceratus, segi, microraptor, etc). On another positive note the next update for prehistoric kingdom is absolutely amazing

Would be cool to have some smaller scavenger type dinosaurs considering the large amount of larger dinosaurs we have that like sharing habitat with a scavenger, can only put so many composgnathus in a park I could see a scavanger pack be beneficial to most park builds, sharing a habitat with larger carnivores and boosting that asset rating some more

I hope Segisaurus (and Microceratus) find their ways into the games...maybe a JP Novel pack. Microraptor would be a nice addition, but feel meh about the other dinosaurs. I'm not going to say no to other dinos. I also think a Archaeopteryx would be a nice addition, even tho it would be pretty on par with Microraptor.

Whats something Ive noticed is that all 4 of these dinosaurs are smaller sized carnivores, so potientally a small carnivore dinosaur pack?

Judging that it has 2 raptors this could have been part of the carnivore pack and could been a back up just in case universal denyed the Utahraptor and gigaovirator. Usually game companies that have to work with a I.P need to have backup ideas just in case they are denied. I really hope the other feeders cam still make it in. At least the cow one. But this could go back to the wallpaper theory where we all thought more feeders would be coming in. Still an interesting find.

I feel like Microraptor, Segisaurus, Microceratus, and Othnielia could potentially make it into the game with a Small Species pack, but the way things are looking to turn out ai won't get my hopes up. I wish Frontier was more vocal about the status of future content and what to expect. Things are bleak right now.

We need Microraptor for a Prehistoric Flying Species pack.

I've been wanting austroraptor and microraptor in the game for so damn long, since the release of evolution 1. I really hope these two aren't scrapped content.

If memory serves, I think Segisaurus is considering an herbivore or an omnivore? Basically it would be an herbivorous Compy or Coelophysis. Yeah, I agree that Dilong would be a bit redundant, since Moros fills that role. So I can see why Dilong would be scrapped. But I’ve heard a number of people wanting Guanlong or at least a feathered variant of Proceratosaurus. Austoraptor would have been a nice addition, and would have filled a role comparable to a smaller Spinoraptor from the Dr Wu DLC from JWE1, where we could have had a feathery raptor using the fish feeders. And I could see Microraptor as a cool addition to an aviary, comparable to the Dominion mini Dimorphodons, but could have given it a wide assortment of beautiful iridescent skins and patterns. And using either carnivore feeders or insect feeders in an aviary too. It would be a bit of a shame if Segisaurus, Austroraptor and Microraptor are permanently cut, as at least these raptors would offer some unique attributes, behaviors, animations and niches not offered by the current roster.

i would hope for a Small Dinosaurs Pack as far as Segisaurus and Microraptor go; it would be an excellent opportunity to include the Microceratus, too, and Dilong is just small enough to warrant being included, too. in fact, of the four "leaked" species here, the only one that doesn't fit is Austroraptor.

I feel like we will get a DLC focused on aviaries like we did for lagoons. So that is where we can get Microraptor. Making it the first aviary creature to be an actual dinosaur instead of a pterosaur.

I do think this may have been a scrapped DLC, which would have most likely been called the Small Carnivore DLC, or something like that. As for the cow and pig feeders, I do think they will get added, but probably will be added when a dlc comes out, or who knows, maybe A JWE3? idk just my thought.

Could microraptor be like in prehistoric planet? with special exhibition, frontier made jwe2 with cobra engine like planet zoo, if they made exhibit of planet zoo for jurassic world evolution 2, it will be impressive

Austroraptor wouls still be unique against utahraptor. It would basically be a piscivore Giant Heron Raptor. Complete with feathers and behavior of Black Heron.

Actually from what I remember the segisaurus was in the first JP movie or at least I think it was mentioned to be in the park , actually besides segisaurus there are a lot of species from the movies , novels , comics and other games that aren't in JWE2 like the microceratus , the omegaraptor , and meganeura

Even though species like Segisaurus would be cool to see added. I think they aren't what the game needs with regards to variety of species. Other types of prehistoric animals like Smilodon, Deinosuchus, Wolly Mammoth, or Megalodon would be more interesting and would bring more variety to the game. If they do plan on doing more DLC cretaceous herbivores seems to be the way they will go, with Microceratus and 3 other species added, although idk what 3 other Cretaceous herbivores that could be.
