Even as a kid, I always wondered how exactly is a fight between a swordsman and a mage, even remotely fair? One guy cuts orcs in half while the other can nuke mountains by *speaking in tongues.* Where is the competition in that?😂
In good settings swordsmen usually end up with superhuman speed strength and durability compared to slower spellcasting. IE the difference between an orbital nuclear strike and a 4th gen fighter jet. Most settings cop out though and make magic this catch all super power that can do anything.
Jobless Reincarnation has a good system and make difference between Sword and Magic. Basically Swordmaster are mostly fast attack, single damage with great speed and defense. Magic caster can destroy mountain, even continent, but require times to gather mana and cast. In war, magic caster are to do damage from far away while sword master deal in close range and often guard the magic caster for casting time.
it depends in what world you are talking , if in a world where magicians can use nuke spells , a swordsman could cut space and move at supersonic speed (like in the ''Dark magician reincarnated 6666 years in the future)) for example . In most balanced worlds , in a 1v1 without time to prepare a swordsman will always win . Magicians would usually be protected by swordsmen while launching huge spells at opposing army .... it all depends on the setting
This has been explored quite a bit since old days in mmorpgs, swordsmen are usually stronger in PvP, and depending on the build they can focus on either tanking or dps, depending on how good the player is Mages can keep up but tend to be weaker, mainly because of their weak physical ability.
Im fairly sure that if you slammed a guy's face into a wall at that speed he wouldn't have a face left. Or indeed have any physical form whatsoever since the velocity of the spell and wall impact would have turned him into a puddle.....
Fun fact to anyone potentially curious the guy Seika wrecks is voiced by Tatsuhisa Suzuki. This seems to be like his first real role since the incident.
In Nanatsu no maken ga shihai suru. (I hope I wrote that right) it all depends on how much space is between them. Less space? Warrior. More space? Mage.
Seika’s oponent’s costume would br totally impractical if one is a swordsman. His midriff is completely bare. There are a LOT of vital organs another swordsman could potentially stab through in that area. Dying from getting your stomach pierced by a longsword does NOT sound fun.
Seika's Opponent: "REAL MEN DON'T HID THEIR PECS!!" Seika: "That's an excuse made by overconfident swordmen to compensate for their lack of skill and/or underwhelming manhood" Seika's Opponent: "WHY YOU LITTLE SH..." Seika: "Au revoir!" *hurls a powerful spell at him from behind* "Jeez, that was so unimpressive on both counts... and yes, that is exactly what she said!" Seika's Opponent: *bleeding and broken* "Why do you have to kick me when I'm down?!" Seika: "To ensure that you never work up the courage to fight me again"
i recognised it immediately when watching the episode yesterday. Despite the majority of us not having heard it for a while, he just has a very distinct tone.
If you notice when he smashed into the wall, an amulet shattered. It was stated that the amulet absorbs damage from bearer. Rules of tournament was either Unable to fight, fell off ring, or broken amulet. So poor dude fulfillled all 3 requirements of a loss.
It’s very good at establishing the main character as a “special” underdog. We all know they are OP as all heck, but having a supposedly strong and overconfident character as their opponent it conveys that in that world the MC is going to flip the status quo. While yeah, it’s in every isekai, it is there because it speeds stuff up so we don’t spend more than a minute establishing how cool MC is supposed to be.
Thing is, this is the MC is the too strong to lose trope. So for his fights to be interesting they actually need to be more creative than normal to make up for the lack of suspense. This is funny once or maybe twice. Then it's just boring.
Yep, and I can't stand hearing a woman's voice doing male characters when it's easily noticed. Change it up like Naruto or something geez. Are there not enough actors out there to use the same gender as the character? I watch alot of reg and dubbed versions of the same show to see how different they are. And this show was horrible to listen through on both versions.
It's technically not a "harem". And yes, he was always OP even before the reincarnation, so he's technically not bland anywhere except his physical appearance. He has the mind of someone who was always number 1, then getting betrayed and stuff. Yeah. Compared to most other isekai this isn't particularly that bad.
WE DONT NEED ANY MORE ISEKAI. ITS A LAZY BANDWAGON CHOICE AT THIS POINT. The slime one and Iruma kun(is that an isekai?)can keep going tho. Those are actually fun. And Shield hero. Forgot that one was an isekai.
