Yeah the lack of quick set day on the 6119 is a bit of a hassle if you don't wear it every day haha

@@NorthernWatchClubtotally, I think those were made to be set and then worn daily. Back then people did not have a watch for each day. Just got a good one and wore it daily. Setting it is a once off thing and a proper pain.

I didn't notice it being heavier than the DressKX I had, maybe it has to do with the bracelet design?

Yeah you'd have to look shop at local ADs but they all seems to be sold out. I got mine from my AD, he told me he ordered 3 but only got 1 so supply seems to be pretty limited.

@@NorthernWatchClub Oh no! lol! I just saw your message. I was actually writing back to you to let you know I found one locally today. Thanks for the offer. I just happened to stop by the mall and decided to go have a look at one of the Seiko dealers and they had one that came in earlier this week. So I bought it right away. I really love the dial and the body but I'm not a fan of the bracelet. It looks kind of cheap and doesn't feel secure. I'll probably put something a little sportier on it that gives it a vintage yet modern diver watch style, like a StrapsCo Silicone Rubber Rally Strap. Anyways, thanks for posting this review for this watch and for your offer. :)

@@thebestoffools I'm glad you found it! One of my viewers tells me it looks good on a mesh band and I saw another RU-vidr wearing it on a strapcode straight end bracelets so maybe I'll get one of those later. Just enjoying the stock bracelet for now, lemme know what you get for it bro!

@@NorthernWatchClub I watched your other video too. I liked it. I don't want to dump on a watch others seem to be loving. It is a great watch. It is nicely made and I would love to see Seiko go down this road some more, but I do wish the crown was more functional, and the bracelet? I'm hard pressed to think of any watch I own that's still on the original strap unless it's integrated like my Direnzo, or a G-shock, so my criticism of the strap here is a fairly universal one. It's probably not that bad. I'm sure you'll like yours for years to come. Price creep is real though. This watch, nice packaging aside (it'll look great in the top back corner of your closet for the rest your life) (plus, it's a red box wrapped in a clear plastic cover, definitely an upgrade from the normal Seiko packaging, but still decidedly less refined than so many others at this price point) is still more expensive than it should be. But it appears to be sold out so maybe they should have charged more. Nice watch. Not for me, but most things aren't. I hope you enjoy it.

What part of 1968 reissue did you not get?

@@jonasthemovie The part where they maintain the spirit of the original but machine the bracelet in a way that you don't have to manhandle it into a shape that almost matches the shape of your wrist, and a crown that is conducive to hand winding, and if you're going to charge this much for a watch, put some sapphire in it since it will give you modern durability and clarity without affecting the aesthetic of the watch. Nostalgia is a powerful drug. You can mine nostalgia to get unit movement, but if you don't learn from your mistakes you're simply running a money grab. This is a great 1968 watch. It's an overpriced, nostalgia mining, gimmick packed 2023 watch. Hey, I'm the sucker. I prepaid for an advanced order. It lived up to the aesthetic promises, but otherwise was a an unrewarding experience. If all I cared about was how it looked I'd probably still have it. MSRP was too much to pay for a watch with a mediocre band, plastic crystal, and frustrating operational interfaces, no matter how good it looked or how close it was to the original.

@@pokie6087 a lot of shops will advertise the watch but mark it as 'out of stock' until they receive delivery. A case in point is the Snoopy Seiko limited edition, with a run of 5K, which is a 1/3 of this one, and the Snoopy watch is readily available in the UK

@@AnitaSpankyBB The watch was released in the UK days ago. Every single AD showing the watch as in stock is then, is now showing out of stock. Believe me I checked all of them deciding weather or not to wait for a discount. I'm glad I didn't. The AD I bought mine from sold all the one's they ordered in two days

Here in Canada I got quoted 100-200 CAD for a service, still less expensive than a new watch but I get what you mean. I am leaning more and more towards keeping the new watch, I'll probably shoot a proper review of it soon, stay tuned!
