Very nice to see Sapphire and ceramic on a Seiko, shame it has to be on their more premium stuff though. I do really like this one though. The pops of blue with the grey, black and white are awesome.
Good idea about making a flighty bracelet. I would buy one, but would prefer a engineer or oyster style. The whole Seiko snkl range is also is in dire need of some decent bracelet options.
I have the SRPE03 King Turtle, and like it quite a bit. The rehaut at the 6 o'clock is slightly off from the index, but what else is new on a Seiko? The funny thing is the bezel and everything at 12 o'clock is lined up. That's much more important, and I rarely notice the 6 o'clock issue. I've had mine a couple years now, and it's been solidly reliable. I love the bit of gilt, and the grenade dial. I have mine on a black Crafter Blue rubber strap, which I really like. It's my go to for any outside activity like yard work, walking the dogs, etc. I am with you on the pin & collar bracelet system. I came really close to permanently losing one of the collars when I first got it. The retail price is way too much for what this offers, at least without a nicer bracelet. I got mine 30% off retail at a jeweler's sale though, which I feel definitely WAS worth it.
I kept my FlightMaster on its original bracelet, but "un-polished" those center links, and added an OEM MarineMaster clasp. It's a perfect fit. Also, the indecies on the Turtle are not applied. They are stamped like the first of the new generation models.
Yeah, didn't buy any watches for quite some time since seiko is just milking the cow. Nothing to see here anymore especially at current prices. Stamped? So the old ones were applied? Like your mod.
My white dial King Samurai is one of my favorite watches. And for $375 I don’t feel shortchanged. I had a black grenade dial King Turtle that was great except for a misaligned chapter ring, now that is my only criticism of Seiko. Get the alignment right Seiko!
The only reason I got this, was because it was the exact same price as the “regular” one. Sapphire and ceramic are ok, but I’m not paying more for it. But if I can get those, essentially for nothing, then I’m in. I’ll never dive with it, but for $371 shipped, I figured it was worth it adding to my collection.
My Monkeys listen to ROCK!!!! Seiko needs to up their game. When Steeldive can release this at 1/10th the price...It's wrong. How many that buy this NEED it certified? Yea, that what I thought too.
Just starting the vid, but I bet those band-aids are from the spring bar tool while you were trying to McGuyver that whole thing! Lol.... (been there, btw).
