I actually sold all of my luxury watches after moving on to other passions and hobbies and settled on a King turtle Manta Ray, best decision i ever made, it's a tank of a watch and is just really beautiful to look at, and it's just as accurate as other high end chronometers and the greatest thing is that you don't have to baby it and you don't care about resale value because you don't have to sell it and just keep it.
I have the same watch the Manta Ray version and it's one of my favorites. That dial is killer. The white version of this green one is nice as well. I'm getting both someday. Man Seiko just kills it everytime. I'm after the 1968 reissue prospex next though. $1000 bucks but I know I won't regret it. That's about the most I can justify spending on a watch or slightly higher. There are just too many great watches at that 600 to 1200 range. My 2nd favorite brand lately is Glycine. The 42 Combat sub. Got one in Bronze and Stainless steel. They have ETA 2824-2 movement. That watch and my Seikos are worth every penny.
My son and I stopped by a Seiko AD in Plano, Texas. With all the expensive watches around, the manager was really excited about this watch., the Seiko SRPE05 as a good "starter watch"for my son. Heck, forget that, I want one for myself. Thanks for the great video!
I tried the Save the Ocean version yesterday, the one with the manta rays, dark grey dial and rubber band. Came back today for a second try, the piece is now mine. I too own a Rolex and a Panerai, as well as a few G-Shocks, but this King Turtle offers outstanding quality and enjoyment for the price.
Having grown up a Rush fan and jammimg to "Tom Sawyer" as a teenager and receiving a Seiko diver as my first watch from my father while in 7th grade, I approve of this video!!!
Agreed! For the entire video, Oisin was like a little kid that couldn't get the words out fast enough about how much he loves his brand new watch. Ha! Beautiful watch. Also another amazing video. I could spend a Saturday afternoon binging them all.
He's been knee deep in Rolex (half of which look the same) for so long, that it's refreshing to see takes on other brands like this and the brilliant Panerai video. There are so many other cool brands out there. Breitling in Sienna, Omega in Trieste and the Alpinist are probably his best videos. Keep these ones coming.

While I have quite a few high end watches, i sometimes think to myself that one of my Seikos could be the only watch i would ever need. I have had some bad luck with the company with QC issue though but ive had mostly good experiences with the brand. I worked construction for almost 10 years and i wore a SKX the whole time. The watch got completely abused and now it looks like someone dragged it down the sidewalk. Vibrations from power tools, impacts, scratches, hot temperatures, and extreme cold temperatures. It kept on ticking and now even after 10 years its still running +10 a day. Yeah of course its nice to have nice things and im a Omega and Rolex fanboy myself but you cant deny a Seiko will serve you quite well.

I been collecting luxury and high horology watches for many many years. I also have a collection of seiko watches and especially the prospex dive watches. I love them and in particular this watch. He is right, it is super comfortable and it oozes quality. Seiko watches have been very collectable in the last few years and it's very good value for money even though some versions are priced at entry level luxury watch brands. You cant go wrong with this watch.
The production here is absolutely brilliant . Utterly top drawer. Just having a watch modded ......using Seiko parts in the main , as I couldn’t source a pink dial in any other name, strapcode jubilee strap . 200m WR screw down crown, Crystal with AR both sides . Great fun doing it for the first time. Built by a well respected person in the trade, just over £500... just different . Looking forward to the video you referred to .
The same one I have - I alternate between a Miltat/Strapcode Angus Jubilee bracelet and the green silicone one it came on. Superb timekeeping - loses 2 or 3 seconds on the wrist, but overnight, flat on it's back, it gains back 3 seconds. It's a watch you never need to correct the time on - barring months without 31 days. Glad you like it too.

Seiko has been killing it in the 500 to 1200 usd price range last 5 years. Even in the 1960s they made some amazing automatic chronographs that nowadays costs around 600 to 800 usd.
Saw this video 5 days ago and ordered the watch straight away. I cant stop looking at the dial. Even better, no back play, everything lines up. Absolute mint item. No need for a new saphire and the dive strap is the most comfortable I have

I completely agree. It’s my favourite watch at the moment. I have a number of Swiss watches and many Seiko divers. I love the subtle green and yellow sweep hand. It’s amazing how the ceramic bezel insert and sapphire crystal lift it above my other turtles.

This watch just came in today, but I got the one with the stainless steel bracelet. This review convinced me to pull the trigger. I now have a Seiko that checks off all the boxes, and Oisin was right, the cyclops is a hair off center. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for the review and your channel :)

I have limited edition Emerald Green and Dawn Grey Seiko Turtles and absolutely love them. They get a lot of wrist time despite having a couple of Omegas, Oris etc in the collection. The turtle case is just such a great shaped case and on the black rubber strap looks awesome. Get a lot of compliments on them and people asking me what kind of watch is it.

THE classic Neil Peart drum track (although I'm quite fond of Vital Signs). My Tampa buddy Wes Dearth opened a few times for Rush and Neil invited him on several epic motorcycle treks across Canada. My favorite though is a pic of Wes's very young son sitting on Peart's lap learning drums from the master.

These cushion case Seikos always make me think of Apocalypse Now. And like the movie, it's thrown together and a bit shabby in some places but by god it works, and it feels like it could survive a trek through the jungle. My next diver is gonna be the mini turtle, hoping the latest JDM model gets a release in North America so I don't have to import. And happy St Pat's!
Agree with everything you say. I have a King Samurai with the white waffle dial and the silicon strap is just so comfortable. Just one gripe though. The strap retainer is rather large and cumbersome and it tends to move around. Great value though.

You're knocking it out of the park with your videos of late. Finishing with Rush is just class. Try and get your hands on a Seiko SPB143. It has taken the place of my Rolex Sub and months later I can't stop wearing it, also on a silicone strap.

I showed him on my phone that I could buy this watch right now from Joma shop for 352.oo plus 20.oo off coupon for your first order. I told him I would like to buy it locally from you instead and then start to get all my watches from you. I put $350 down on the counter in cash. That's 329.00 plus tax. He said ok, I could not believe it. This watch is so awesome and especially now for that money. Your review was awesome also. You are very very funny.
