I own both of these too and I agree 100% with everything you’ve mentioned. If anything, owning the 300 makes you realize the tremendous value of this gen mm200.
@@ClickSpringReview I’m going to put the brown, red stripe NDC nato on my sla023...those end links are simply unacceptable. How do you like color matching of your strap code bracelet with the diashield? Is it close enough to not drive you crazy? I’m worried about my OCD ;)
I have the mm200 and love it. Is the only watch i will never sell. Working in the off shore its a tool for me, built like a tank, glows in the dark and can take every beating for years and years
I bought myself (impulse buy) a MM200 yesterday got the green SPB105... I really love this watch so far.. Who knows I'd like to get a MM300 at some point.. but the 200 is working for me for now. it is the most expensive watch I have ever bought by a fair margin... but I do really like it.
Thanks for doing this awesome 😎 comparison like you said . Very interesting conclusions on these two . For years I’ve been drooling 🤤 over the Marine Master and have actually tried your Marine Master on at a local jeweler. Actually I’ve tried both of these watches on . After seeing this video maybe I should redirect my craving for the blue hole . The Twilight blue is another amazing mm200 as well. One thing I’d like to mention is I’ve owned the sbdc033 or Blumo now for about 18-19 months and I’m extremely satisfied and happy with that watch . I think it strongly compares to the mm200 and in some ways as far as case and polishing even to the Marine Master as well 👍🏻
Just watched this video with keen interest since I recently purchased a Seiko sbdc063 and a Proxima mm300. My 063 came from Gnoman Watch with the Seiko stainless bracelet. My Proxima came from Aliexpres/Proxima Store and has the Proxima stainless bracelet. I have swapped out the clasp in the mm300 for a Seiko mm300 ratcheting titanium clasp. The end links on my Proxima fit the case head perfecting.
Thanks for the review! My $0.02, if you're looking for a good "only watch", the MM200 is a better fit due to its slimmer case. Also i feel that the bracelet on MM200 fits the watch much better than the one on MM300 - i prefer the MM200 bracelet. However after seeing this video i might get the Strapcode for my MM300!
Always interesting to hear what others think Karl when I wear the MM300 its mostly on the blue rubber strap now which came with my MM200 ps I uploaded the video again as I missed up the settings and so on the 22nd a full HD video we be on my channel , Thanks for the input
Recently bought 1 of each used, massive honeymoon period right now! Crafter Blue is a must for the 300, orange looks epic on the 023, super comfy cos it spreads the weight, but then I have no frame of reference. The 200 would be a great daily driver, if it didn’t lose over 2 mins lol ffs seiko!? Hopefully can be tweaked to be just a little fast on the wrist. Perfect seiko blue diver 2 watch collection, 1 for the week and 1 for Sunday best so to speak, but I adore the 300 so much, can’t stop looking at it, wears so well imo, but I do have an 8” wrist. I get it now! 😊 GS next!
Glad your enjoying it Sir , I've now sold the 300 but still have the 200, the 6R movement in the 200 is straight forward the regulate and any watchmaker can do it for not very much money 👍🏻
Greetings from Peru, and thank you for a great video. Can you confirm that Seiko has stopped producing the MM200? What do you think of the PADI Edition of the MM200?
They still make the MM200 but The Great Blue Hole has stopped , There are 2 new model's coming out in the next few weeks they are called SBDC061/SPB177 they have the same case but a new hand set and bezel, I hope to have one on the channel very soon
I have the MM200, and that dial is the most beautiful dial on any watch that I own (over 50). Just spectacular. It is my favorite watch I own as well. I think the MM300 Blue watch is beautiful as well, but I’m not gonna spend over 1k on a Seiko. Believe me, I LOVE Seiko, have MANY, but I stay within the $300-$1000 range.
@@mainlymusicman Thats true for that price its good, Seiko's mark up is crazy they are one of the few watch companies apart from say Breitling which allow there watches to be sold way under RRP
Thanks for the comparison! Do you think it's worth swapping out the bracelet for the MM200? I am actually waiting for crafterblue to release the silicon strap for the MM200 series.
I had a crafter Blue for my new Seiko 5 and hated it , The MM200 bracelet is OK all I have done now to my one is fit the 300's clasp to it and the rubber strap from Seiko is so soft and well worth getting
Hi mate great with you and you’ve persuaded me to go for the 200. Watch nation had the 300 at £2200 or thereabouts but they’ve just increase their price back up to 2700. Otherwise I might have chosen the 300 but at the other price range I just don’t think it’s worth it. You said you thought you could get the 200 for around about the £750 price mark and I’m wondering if you can advise me where to look for that because I don’t seem to be able to find that price anywhere everyone seems to be around the 999 mark. Also I would want to swap the handset on the 200 for the 300s And would quite like to change the bezel to a ceramic lumed bezel. Are you able to suggest any decent guys who can handle that kind of modification? And finally can you recommend where I should look for decent straps for my MM 200? And is it possible to get the seiko engraving put onto a non-standard strap? Sorry and one final thing I would probably like to change the crown for one that has the S logo on it or the prospex mark. Sorry to ask so many questions it’s a sign that your videos are really useful that I have bothered to write so much on this so I hope you get the chance to reply as soon as possible have a great weekend.
Hi and glad you liked the video Sir, as for getting the 200 cheaper you have to be quick as they have stopped making them now so its only what stock is left . There are a few Seiko dealers in the West Midlands will do the watch for £800/825 new. I now have two of them now but the second out was used and had a mark on the bezel and I couldn't find a replacement bezel insert anywhere as I to like to mod seiko's but you simply cant get them some I've ended up posting it to Seiko to have them replace it , The hand set would be a straight forward mod . As for a second strap the watch comes with a really nice rubber strap which you could use as you wait for the bracelet to be engraved , The crown is simple mod to do you could do yourself with no problems , on one of my videos I remove one from my Seiko 5 and its pretty well the same movement . I would be interested to see how the engraving goes sir
Time Out Watches Thanks for the reply is there any way you can then share the name of those retailers you hinted at in the West Midlands because for the life of me I can’t find them
My one was new from the Seiko dealer Sir ,the spring bars are the correct Seiko ones , Turns out this is pretty normal for the MM300 and many of the newer model high end models , The strapcode bracelet fits far better 👍🏻
The Oris has the Sellita SW200 movement inside it and I'm really not a fan of this movement as I've had one pack up on me a twice Sir but Oris do make some great watches that's for sure
Time Out Watches that’s unfortunate. I’m on my 6th Oris Aquis and 7th Oris. All with the SW200 and not one has ever given me issues or kept bad time. While not as accurate as my omegas and Tudor the price reflects that. The issue for me with the Aquis has always been size, either too small or too big. The new 41.5mm Aquis has resolved this for me. Now I did have to send my MM200 back to Seiko as the 6R15 was gaining 3mins a day (Stuck balance I believe) but they resolved it and it keeps great time now. The MM200 while being my least expensive diver it gets most my wrist time. Sold my Seamaster for it. That good!
rooch martinez As you say may of just been that model bad luck I guess the problem is with the winding system they did improve it with the SW-200-1 but it’s always in the back of my mind , I’m the same the MM200 is cheapest diver about for a Seiko 5 all black I keep modding your can see it on my channel, But it gets a lot of worst times and my wife likes to wear it to on the rubber strap
@@maitrehg I agree with you were lucky Sir but you shouldn't have to be lucky at that price . That's normal for all the Rolex watches , After all they are the only watch company who guarantee there watches for +/-2 a day for 5 years . Just imagine if in 4 years times it was 3 sec out but no worries you'd take it back under warranty that's pretty impressive .
@@maitrehg I like the Sub more myself but I do like the MM300 I just find it never sits right on my wrist as it is a little top heavy IMHO but its still a great watch
