Maybe at half the price I could see the value in these, but they have the same crappy clasps and aluminium bezel insert as my Samurai that retailed for a third as much about 4 years ago. I get the movement is different and it has sapphire but still…..
I love your reviews, great work!!!! But, Seiko has lost their edge and most likely their minds. Seiko braclets and clasps are so outdated compared to micro brands and others. Even at their top tier Seiko braclets are lacking fit, quality and finish. For me Seiko's hay day has passed, love their old stuff.
This series looks horrendous & cheap. Your reviews are excellent - has nothing to do with you, but Seiko has been way off the mark lately. Too many microbrands & established European makers that are producing far superior products.
Great review as always. Come on SEIKO. Really? 1500 with that awful sorry excuse of a clasp? In my opinion Seiko is constantly going in the wrong direction lately. In 2022 they are not getting better. They are getting worse. Citizen makes way better watches for half the price. The days when SEIKO was a great option are long gone.
Titanium clasps are almost always like that, as it’s quite a bit harder to mill out titanium. Don’t worry, it’s not going to break - it’s titanium haha. But there’s really no need to mill it. Even with steel, it’s more of a superficial quality detail. So I vehemently disagree about the clasp being a problem but I do agree Seiko has just been jacking up prices without the appropriate jump in quality….QC is improving but still a problem, and the fact is certain Swiss brands are just axe-murdering them in build quality at these prices. No one quite does compelling designs like Seiko, though. As far as killer value, I’d say Orient and Orient Star are waxing both Seiko and Citizen.
Probably should cost around 1000$ $1500 is way too high for these … even got better options in Seiko for around that price point like marine master 200 and 62mas Basically they look like king samurai with 6R35 instead of 4R35 but even the 4R35 performs very reliably.. and those cost around $500 only ..
The last model Shogun that came out with the bronze colored bezel also retailed for U.S. $1500 but could be bought for $1200. Even that I think is too high. I was able to purchase the original Shogun for $875. It is still one of my favorite watches.
I own the first and second generation Shoguns and absolutely love them but I'm afraid these dials don't interest me. I'm not a fan! I hope they will come out with better dials in the future.
I don't think the dials are better or worse it's all just up to the individual there are billions of people on the planet and probably a couple of them like this dial
@@EricSloferwatchreviews i sweat a lot and live in a tropical country. Bracelet is a must for me. Rubber strap is a good second option, but definitely not leather or nato. Great review as always. 🥰
