The new turtle from my son has a beautiful blue dial with a black rubber band and name as "save the ocean ".and that make me discovered that the deep blue of the sea, light blue of the sky, and a sunshine smile on his face with that new Seiko is a happiness picture you can tell when he was walking on the beach.
Only solution is to get both! I prefer the Pepsi version of the SKX (009) & the 777 (black) Turtle too, but I have the 777 on the silicone diver's strap & the original jubilee bracelet on the 009. Thanks for the nice review!
yeah they are alright watches, but considering you can find many swiss made watches with real eta movements around $300 its hard to say there a good value
Thanks for the video. Very concise. I have an opportunity to purchase an SRP 775 prospex for right at $200 New from a retail store, as it's on clearance due to a couple of minor scratches. I'm close to pulling the trigger.
I thought you broke your phone screen half-way through the making of this video... but it just turned out that the angle in the first showing wasn't conducive to seeing that crack... lol
skx009/07 are beautiful on wrist even females can wear it, the srp777 looks bad on wrist because I own one and I see people wearing it, the mini turtle is good option too, the srp777 cushion case overwhelm the beautiful face of the watch, the rolex submariner and skx007/09 are the two beautiful watch I see in people's wrist
I personally use an additional rating that excludes all ratings if it fails - i.e. our preferred size. To me, I will not buy a watch that is smaller than 42 mm on the wrist; just doesn't look good or read well for me. Probably not a consideration for most ...
I kinda see your point but you probably need more information- I.e. lug to lug and wrist surface. A flat wrist and a round wrist may both be 6.5in but one will be able to suit a larger watch better and most importantly the lug to lug has more relevance than watch circumference to me. The skx is 42.5mm but has a short lug to lug and wears great on any wrist. The omega speedmaster is a 42mm but wears very long, especially on the bracelet. Also height is relevant- especially if you wear it on a nato which adds depth
agree! However you can still find some better quality Swiss automatic watches if you hunt hard for the same price! with a better movement, also many Watches with superior movements such as Miyota 9015s for less money!
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews Recently came across the USSR Soviet vintage watches.. What are your thoughts on vintage watches like Raketa , Poljot and Wowtok..I really love the Soviet styles dial colors and crowns..
Where are you guys buying these watches? The SRP777 lowest I can find is $365 at JCPenney and SKX007 is $250 on Jomashop. I'm leaning towards the Turtle because of hand winding and hacking, and I like the feel of the rubber bands on my wrist. But SKX007 is fine too, it has that old school look.
I own 18 different watches. Some very inexpensive, Some a lot. For example, my Swiss 25 Jewell Hamilton keeps excellent time. But the cheapest quartz movement is likely more accurate than the best mechanical movement. So my Seiko 5 does not have a hacking movement. And once in a while I may adjust the time. Big deal! For me the SKX is a better buy. It boils down to which looks better on my wrist, as they both do the same thing, they tell the time.
Both are horribly overpriced by Seiko. Watches in this price range should have AR coated sapphire crystal and a good bracelet (the SRP777 comes with a silicon/rubber strap)
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa1 I'm in the market for automatic w/ sapphire. Name some brand/models that are mechanical with sapphire crystal at this price range please.
