Oh my goodness such a true statement my friend.... I have owned rolexes I tried to trade up and they only give you a fraction of the price ...however when they sell you the watches... They say Rolex never loses our value.... I was so disgusted by working with the salesperson that way that I ended up giving both rolexes away as gifts to friends..... Then I noticed a Seiko 5.... I got a really good deal on it..... And it works better than any Rolex I've ever owned it's more reliable easier to upgrade the straps and have fun with it on a fashion sense which is really part of the fun.... And with all the money that I spend on a Rolex I can buy so many more seiko's because they are just more exciting !!!! My ego wanted a Rolex for so long and then I got them.... And I am way way over them for sure I got so bored with them and disappointed with them.... Seiko artistry innovation reliability and all the excitement that brings me joy

Oh i'm the first? haha cool! I love the new BEAMS black 62mas 300 LE but I prefer the brushed sides of the 043 vs the zaratsu polish sides. I know a bracelet wouldn't be correct but cool as an option. the 037 and beams come with a nice rubber tropic vs this silicone waffle. Thanks for Watching! Grats on the 043! I'm gonna get a 62 mas. Unfortunately, I agree 100%. This 'limited" edition term, that Seiko is using in such an unlimited way is a marketing trick and not a very smart ones. The Seiko bracelet/clasp and strap quality need to reflect the same quality as their movement. They need to understand that a watch isn't just a movement and perhaps a case. The other parts as well are an undivided part of the package. I only own one Seiko, bought nearly a decade ago. After receiving the watch was impressed with the movement/case, utterly disappointed with bracelet/clasp.

Great, thanks! As far as I know the insert is not changeable as we know it from the alloy inserts of e.g. four or five digit Rolex, but is one part with the bezel. So a change might be expensive and probably all is everbrilliant, with coating on top of course. Anyway, great, great watch!

Those people don't know much about watches or are just swiss gate keeping snobs like that piece of trash garbage from pride and pinion who calls Lange meh and Grand seiko shet! Lange makes the triple split. I dunno how anyone can call them meh and still call themselves a self proclaimed watch expert. But he's a rolex salesmen so it makes sense. GOD TEIR!

i sold myself too! i wanted a rolex op for my child being born as that is the norm in society..but the 39mm stopped production...now I feel that was lucky...because I dont think that will make me happy. this thing blows me away. especially after comparing it to the new sub. which was great but def overpriced for what it is. I'm now seriously considering the next sla. this color...not so much. but hoping for one that grabs me more then this beauty. Enjoy it! I'm looking at it right now and its a stunner.

I'm not 100% as it was not confirmed to me! there is a chance it is ever-brilliant Steel as well with a titanium black carbon coating. Seiko has been doing that alot lately. But it looks ceramic to me!

@@EscapementWatch I don’t think it’s ceramic, because I saw some pics online of SLA037 with scratched bezel, and I assume ceramic doesn’t scratch easily. It seems to be some sort of lacquer or black coating.

@@davidr9614 J'imagine que tu veux plutôt parler de la lunette (la couronne étant ce qui sert à remonter le ressort de la montre). La lunette est en titane carboné (carbure de titane). Visuellement, le résultat est exactement le même que la céramique mais en beaucoup plus résistant. Pour le reste, je suis toujours bluffé par la finition GS et par la précision du mécanisme. À l'achat elle était à +5 s/jour et, en la portant tous les jours, elle s'est stabilisée à +1 à +2 s/jour, ce qui est assez stupéfiant. Le seul regret que je peux avoir, ça serait sur les bracelets fournis. Non pas qu'ils soient de mauvaises qualités mais pour le prix de la montre, fournir juste deux bracelets en silicone me parait radin de la part de Seiko. Si tu as d'autres questions, n’hésites pas.

Seiko does have a certain 'LOOK' theres nothing like a Seiko Divers Watch. But yes they do look alike seiko to seiko.

You are WRONG! Its not biased. it is a 4.5k watch all day. Hand assembly in japan, all forged and milled movement parts, and a new alloy, with history to back it up. seiko innovating and staying in their own lane as usual. Rolex is not a 10k-20k watch no matter what society pays for them.

@@EscapementWatch as much as I like a good debate, I'll pass because this is not a watch forum or a place for extensive views exchange. You are entitled to have your own opinion, same as everyone else. Beginners in watch collecting, and as long as money is not an issue, will buy almost whatever comes in their way. It only takes a tiny click and bam. After investing time and I mean years and years along with a serious amount of money, comes the refined taste, parameters are set in regards of how and what to expect from a time piece and of course what would be the % of depreciation, if there will be any. I am not saying that depreciation should be the first factor but it is not me that sets the rules for living, money can be an issue. I am also not the one that sets the rules that define for each brand the % of depreciation. The watch owner can only keep their watches in great condition or at least try to. Firstly because they love their watches and everything else after that. Lately Seiko has been on a "special" and/or "limited edition" spree. Especially this passed year, I see almost every week something "limited"or"special". Their company, their right, it's up to the buyer what comes next. The Seiko is a great, in fact colossal brand that creates precision mechanisms with solid cases, however the standard drops when it comes to bracelets/clasps and certain straps. That, in my mind, is a factor that affects the % of depreciation. For this watch now, no matter how well it's polished (won't discuss why would I want a high polish sport watch) or how the movement parts were produced (which can't see to enjoy) in my opinion is overpriced. I am not an Omega fan, only own 3 pieces, but given that they have a mid range sport watches and despite their trend to inflate their prices, is at the same if not lower price.

fair enough! thanks for your input. My concern for deprecation is very low on my priority list. I know it might sound strange to most collectors but I'm looking for a high end seiko to pass down one day to my future child as their birth year watch 2021. I thought I wanted a rolex and or tudor/omega but realize those do not make me happy and will not represent who 'dad' was with my child. So Im hoping for another LE in 2021 so I can grab an SLA as a birth year watch. As it is always a compromise when hunting for birth year watches. You sacrifice condition or specs or model in someway, unless very lucky! Omega is doing the "LE" technique as well. It is almost a "MUST" now a days if you can't keep your value up like rolex does. You need to make slight changes in color and brushing and limit it somewhat to help keep price retention and keep interests. Its not ideal solution but its the way brands who are not rolex have to do things from now on. Unless drastic changes happen in industry. Everyone wants a timepiece a little bit unique and a little bit hard to get. so I dont see the limited editions slowing down for omega or seiko or anyone else who doesn't have stellar value retention.

You're right Seiko is not Rolex. They are much better and have been in house since forever. Rolex was basically a middleman for most of its life. And still does not make their own hands. They bought out the people who make their movements, they bought out the bracelet company, they bought out everyone except the company that makes their handsets. And you should really look up something called inflation Rolex were about a hundred bucks back in the day for the Explorer

May as well get an actual fake Rolex. IWC - Actually, these are quite nice. Christopher Ward - sounds like a fashion watch brand. Patek - You’ll be paying for frilly decorations. Ok if you’re a bit fruity. Stowa - that’s a fake IWC, right? Sinn - These are worthy. The reason why I picked Casio, Citizen, Seiko and Rolex is because they’re fully in-house. Rolex loses points because of their current business practices, but at the end of the day, it’s a Rolex. They won’t let me buy one, which is annoying, and I refuse to bend the knee and humiliate myself in order to get hold of one. So, I’ll stick with Casio and Seiko. Ultimately, there are many nice watches from many manufacturers. I was responding to the statement of “I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on a Seiko”. Which seems a bit daft to me. It’s like when Swiss watch snobs look down on TAG Heuer - they better be wearing a Rolex, otherwise I’ll be taking the piss.
