Also known as the "constrictor knot" thanks, it is a good knot, and now I can apply it to lashing. Perfect!

easy and versatile. it doesn't keep smooth surfaces in places, but with some form of resistance at the end of rods/logs it could keep two in place.

That knot at 2:26 is a regular constrictor knot. It is not the Transom.

Without binding over the cross-piece, it's the same as the constrictor hitch. Unlikely to come loose unless you specifically go about untying it.

It appears the main difference between the Transom & the Constrictor is that the Constrictor passes over the standing line near the end while the Transom passes under the standing line to lock it in.

Would this knot suffice for making a shelter? Bty, I'd probably put a stopper knot at the end.
