Seizures suck! I used to have grand mal seizures but have been seizure free for years so there is hope. Bless her little heart and I know it is hard for all of you. 🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕

Good on Josh to listen to his intuition! What a relief he was able to get the boys. Seizures are very scary and thank goodness Avery is on the mend. When our kiddos are congested my sisters and I will lay them across our lap tummy down and pat their backs to help break up the yuck. Just a suggestion 😊. Very sweet ending to see how well the boys work together. Thanks for sharing and I hope Avery is all better now.

I might give that a go, I usually lay her on her sides and do percussion that the chest physio taught us. Sadly Avery and I are both poorly at the moment ❤️

@@mummyandavery Ugh..I hope you're getting plenty of rest and feel better soon. My daughter is allergic to eggs and can't get a flu shot. Starting in preschool I had the teacher's let me know if it was going around and I would keep her home to be safe. Considering Avery's risks would the nursery staff be willing to inform you if any colds are going around? We all know those parents who don't see anytime wrong with sending a kid who has every icky symptom except a fever. I know you can't stop all the coughs and colds but it would be nice to have a little warning.

❤❤❤Hi Chrissy. I'm so glad that Avery is home and on the mend. It's so hard when you have to be in the hospital and the doctors that you see are not the ones you are used to. I'm really glad that avery's consultant pediatrician was on call that first night. I would definitely call that divine intervention. I'm really glad it made you feel comfortable. As always thank you for sharing. I have a suggestion for you. Do you keep a humidifier in Avery's room?

High colored poop, been there done that. Soak clothes in cold water and use dish soap to clean and you will be shocked. Taught my daughter this.

You're never far from my heart. I know these seizures are gut-wrenching and I'm so sorry she's got to endure these painful episodes. You and Josh, as well. The boys are growing so fast and it's fun to see them interact with each other and Avery. Cuddles all around from me, please! I've done home health care for a very long time. Do the Dr's ever show you the cupping therapy? You lay her over your knees, belly down, cup your hands as if to capture water to wash your face. Then begin tapping the back, not hands flat because that can hurt. A few times a day and it benefited my son tremendously. He would cough up so much phlegm. Also, I'm shocked the drs haven't suggested the machine (vest like) apparatus that shakes, breaks up all the yuk and also can help prevent pneumonia and other infections. It vibrates to help keep lungs clear. God bless you all and your beautiful family! ❤❤❤❤❤

Yes we use the cupping technique but we lay her on her sides. They don’t fund the vest where I live because there’s not enough evidence to suggest it’s effective - that’s what averys paediatrician said anyway xx

Oh poor baby 😢 you and Josh are incredible! The picture on your thumbnail with one of the boys laying with Avery in the hospital bed is SO CUTE omg ❤ I am so so sorry, this must be so traumatizing to see your baby like that even tho you know she’ll come out of it. Take care of yourself and lean on each other ❤ I had a random unexplained seizure when I was 17 and I was in so much pain for a week because of what it made my body do 😢 I hope the poor baby isn’t too sore. Mine was a on the floor every part of my body seizing and thrashing according to what my friends told me so I’m hoping Avery isn’t as sore as I was 😢

Have you thought of using a vibrating pad for Avery's congestion? They have various types, even one that fits in a stroller.

I’ve heard vibrations can help. She’s getting a vibrating weighted pillow for Christmas so hopefully that will be good, she can do tummy time with it too xx

Clonazepam is a longer acting benzodiazepine, six to twelve hours vs the usual four to six hour of diazepam. She does look much perkier today. You are lucky that she does seem to have a good gag and cough reflex to clear some of that mucus on her own. It always sounds bad but as long as it doesn’t settle into her lungs. Prayers that she continues on the mend.❤😊

She’s always had a very strong cough, for some reason though her secretions seem to sit in her upper airways xx

I assume that the Neuro was of the opinion that the seizure was probably triggered by the fact that Avery was poorly with the virus ? Xx

Yeah Avery usually only gets big seizures when she’s febrile minus the odd one or two xx

Chrissy, I was wondering if Avery has a suction machine at home (as if you need another apparatus) for that nasty phlegm she can’t get up on her own? Does her body have trouble moving phlegm from the small sacs in her lungs to larger ones? Does vibrating her chest wall help at all? Can she get a chest vibrator? Just questions that I was pondering.

She does have a suction machine ☺️ when she’s poorly it’s usually a bit of a cycle of percussions and suction. She has a really strong cough but her secretions tend to settle in her upper airways xx

Im a new follower. My step mom has epilepsy so I have been around when someone has a seziure. Avery is really cute, does she only have epilepsy? Please dont take this as me being rude.

Welcome ❤️ not rude at all. Avery has a brain injury so epilepsy is secondary. She also has cerebral palsy and Dystonia xx
