I think I had a seizure, and the neurologist and cardiologist are saying they couldn't find anything and they think it was vasovagal syncope. I was outside sitting down drinking a small glass of wine when I started to get dizzy/light headed and I knew something was wrong I barely took 2 sips. So I got up slowly and walked inside slowly, I got to the bottom of the stairs and had like a hot flash. I slowly made my way upstairs and set my wine down and contemplated lying down or going to the bathroom. I decided to go to the bathroom. I walked to the door of the bathroom and stopped because it was progressively getting worse so I grabbed the door frame then both my knees bent and started shaking left and right uncontrollably. My mind is telling my body to stand up straight and stop shaking my knees but no response then I lost consciousness I woke up on the floor confused I wasn't sure where I was at first and I had chest pain and nausea. I opened my eyes and was thinking I was on the couch or my bed but I realized I was on the floor. My chest was tight and I felt nauseous so I got up slowly and went to the toilet and vomited. after a few minutes I felt normal again. That was scary, I told my psychiatrist she said it might be a seizure, I need to go see a doctor. So I told my work what happened and they suggested leave to see a doctor. So I took leave and went to every appointment I had an ultrasound done on my heart and neck nothing wrong their and I wore a heart monitor for a month. I'm fine with that. My neurologist, when I first saw him I told him my Primary care physician said something about vasovagal syncope and I think he just went with that. He had me get an MRI and my head was hooked up to a bunch of wires. He said nothing is wrong. Well something was wrong, my Mind disconnected from my body and my body shut off. about 20 years ago I was working security in Dallas and got hit by a small SUV. The people driving were breaking into cars. I was on the hood for a few miles getting hit with a bat by the passenger. The bat broke so he got a long screwdriver and was stabbing me in my hands thru the windshield I beat the hell out of the windshield. I did fall off the SUV when she slammed on the brakes. My arms couldn't hold on anymore. I fell off feet first broke my ankle in 2. Messed up my lower back (pinched nerve)and the back of my Head bounced off the service road to the freeway and was bleeding. And in the last few years my neck at the base of my skull makes crackling noises when I look left, right, up or down. I don't know what to do, besides get a 2 and opinion. I'm afraid to drive and I'm 46 years old

What a story. You really made me feel your experience. I think it's vasovagal syncope also but it could be also hypoglycemic syncope, cardiac syncope, seizure, heart attack or even angina that made you faint. There are many differential diagnosis you should do more testing and do more follow up with your doctor, maybe there is something else. Especially if you had a head trauma before, or a brain tumor that was noted in your family history before. And i really want to say this, i know it's irrelevant but you have to write a book man you are really good at writing you made me feel and imagine your experience, i even got hooked and scared. And yeah i hope for you a good day man...

I'm epileptic. But sometimes I got this blips of unconsciousness. Like suddenly my muscle all over my body went limp and my brain stop thinking. It happened for just a brief moment. I'm not fainting. Just like all of a sudden someone turned off my brain and turned it on again in a mere second.

The term psuedo seizures isn’t used anymore as it means fake or not real when non epileptic seizures are very real and can be from different neurological disorders :)

When I fainted (I think) I was told I was groaning, does that happen in syncope?

From what I know, you feel relief rather immediately after you’ve fainted but not for a while after a seizure.

I had aura, collapse, recovery a couple times before I sought help. Been months, still dizzy all the time and no diagnosis but every possible expensive test done. I rehabbed myself at home, use a cane to break falls. I give up.
