Very good video. Thank you. I got the symptoms back when I was starving plus lack of sleep and hit anxiety. I didn’t know what it was and ended up going to ER multiple times. But at ER Dr checked many things without any clue.

I've been suffering with this for over 25 years and it started happening after a traumatic medical event that happened when I was a kid. I disagree with the recommendation to limit your exposure to your fears, especially if it's something normal that you shouldn't avoid, like meetings or dentists/doctors. I actually think exposure is more beneficial than avoiding it. Yes, it is terrifying, but it is the only way to show your body and brain that you won't be dying if you do that thing that you fear most. Also in the beginning, you'd want to be with someone who knows you'll probably faint so they can catch you if it happens!

Dr. Bowring, I believe that you are taking all cases of fainting issues and encapsulating them all into one and calling it Vasovagal Syncope. I want to state that I am not a physician, but I am someone who suffers from Vasovagal Syncope!! Having experienced these Episodes is far different than someone who is sitting down and all of a sudden passes out, as your video clip suggests. You mentioned none of the Triggers that can cause a person to have a Vasovagal Syncope, such as 1. The sight of Blood 2. Dehydration 3. Overheating 4. Straining to have a bowel movement 5. Extreme Emotional Stress 6. Having an injury to the body Some of the symptoms you may have prior to a Vasovagal syncope are- 1. Paleness 2.Lightheadedness 3.Nausea 4.Feeling warm or hot 5.A cold clammy sweat 6.Blurred Vision As it was explained to me, this happens when the Vagus Nerve in the neck loses connection with the brain and causes all the blood to pool in your legs. I can literally feel the blood swooping down into my legs. How to recover: No matter where you are lie down and elevate your legs and have someone bring you a cold cloth for your head and try to drink water as soon as you are able.

This only occurs when I get hurt. Usually if I hit an area that has little tissue in front of the bone.

Thank you for your advice. I usually feel like fainting during my menstrual cycle - pain. And when taking caffeine. Caffeine intoxication causes me to feel dizzy, Lightheaded and passing out.

Seeing the sight of blood during your Menstrual Cycle is what is your trigger. See my comment above.
