For those who don't know, there's a mod that makes all the enemies and items random. It's ridiculous. Well, I played through the game with it on, and some interesting stuff happened. This is part 1 of that run.
For my own sanity I turned on the options that made it so I can't get endgame stuff too early on. And I also didn't randomize memories so progression wasn't too screwed up.
Today, we "face" some mini bosses, get utterly confused by items, and take an abnormal route through the start of Sekiro.

Thank you so much! And it IS blowing up. At the start of January this video has a couple thousand views maybe after being uploaded for 6 months or so. Then it suddenly started getting recommend and the view count exploded to 40k in a month. It's crazy to watch the algorithm at work lol

I figured out that if a mibu enemy of those who grab you from the floor, if you mash buttons, I mashed X, ⬛, 🔴, R1 and L1, and it left me alone sooner

Huh, that's interesting. In Bloodborne, making R1 and L1 gets you out of grabs quicker, I wonder if that mechanic got carried over to Sekiro. I'll have to test that out at some point!

Completely agree. He's so much easier to deal with in larger arenas. He shows up again later in the series in an equally nice and spacious arena luckily

Normally it's an Ako Sugar, which is pretty good for early game but nothing crazy hidden there. Every now and then I see someone playing Sekiro and find places I never knew about too lol

If you don’t know, high monk (and it’s lesser variation) are meant to counter sweep attacks, so you get the same power as if you were to stomp on them but extra damage afterwards

Attack timings you mean? Or like more combo mix ups? Attacks are already random to some extent. There's a mod in one of the Dark Souls that randomizes attack animation speeds. It's bizarre to watch lol. I'd imagine it'd be even stranger in Sekiro where parrying is the main form of combat. Don't think a mod like that exists yet anyway.

High monk is amazing. Use it instead of jumping when the enemy uses unblockable sweep attacks. Does more damage than simply jumping on them. I always use it on enemies like genichiro who use sweep attacks.

I've never played or seen the original Tenchu, only knew that Sekiro was originally meant to be a sequel to it. I'll have to check it out sometime, maybe use that sounds clip in a future Sekiro video... Thank you! :) The mod is great, highly recommend it!
