To be honest, when I played the game for the first time, I truly didn't believe he was a boss THAT soon and belittle him, and as a result I got oneshoted. Like I didn't even try to fight him seriously. Really shouldn't have underestimated the game just because I just started.

Would have preferred that you get a secret ending for beating the tutorial boss in this game. Cause beating the tutorial boss in DMCV gets a special ending and bumps you into the next difficulty because you are clearly a pro if you can beat the tutorial boss without your robot arms(or skills, or the spoiler thing). So it would be neat if beating him hear got you a special ending and sent you into NG+.

@@scholargrizz7071 if you have guessed by now. Dmc5 has an "unbeatable" tutorial boss. He is the hardest boss due to the player beginning at level 1. Therefore it is a level 1 vs a level 100. If you beat this boss you get the Easter egg ending. If you didn't then you get the full true story.

Just think that in this timeline, even though Wolf still lost his arm and his master he is the better swordsman. And Ashina has to li e with that fact. It be cool if they could some how work that into the game.

The Wolf is a horrible swordsman but has the luck of never dying, therefor as an underdog he can gain the experience he needs to become decent. I actually hate this story line BUT it's realistic.

I get that they have to make you die either way to progress the story, but I like that they make another cutscene for when you win: It’s like they acknowledge that you are the superior fighter and he could only beat you with a cheap trick.

friendlyelites It depends on the player. Genichiro’s easily one of the hardest bosses in the game for me. Harder than Guardian Ape, Lady Butterfly, Corrupted Monk, and even Great Shinobi Owl.

You can also jump off the cliff to reset the fight if you dont feel it. It wont trigger the cinematic.

The point in not giving you something, in my opinion, is that Wolf is simply not supposed to be at that level yet. He let his guard down, something a true shinobi never would do, and therefore gets punished. It's kind of essential to the character development. I guess they could have pumped up the difficulty and given you something, but they way they did it I think they wanted to communicate something to the player. Cutscenes cost budget and this extra was done exclusively for you, the few players who managed to beat him in the tutorial section. Not only is it nice to have that extra nod, I also think they're essentially telling the player: "Don't let your guard down", or as Owl says it "Hesitation is defeat" :)

In DMC5 if you beat the boss at Mission 2 you actually complete the game. It would've been cool to have this option here aswell.

It's also a plot point that he has Kuro, but it would be cool if beating him allowed you to keep both arms allowing you to dual wield, and turning the prosthetic into more of a brace you just wear.

Yep, Devil May Cry 5 did that with prologue Urizen, and Far Cry 4 technically didn't ask you to fight but it gave you an ending for waiting 15 minutes.

Plusy you’re comparing it too much to Dark Souls rather than seeing it as it’s own game, FromSoft didn’t lose anything, this isn’t about dragons and skeletons anymore, it’s about ninja and samurai, this isn’t a game that you can cheese by cowering behind a shield or rolling and abusing frames or magic, it’s a real action strategy game where every decision in combat truly matters, Sekiro is its own game, this is not Dark Souls, if the name alone didn’t say that well enough for you, then idk what else to say

I remember back in 2011 when I played the Scott Pilgrim game, when the boss for level 3's intro cutscene began to play, I retained control of my character and killed him while the scene was still playing. The game crashed after that.
