You can fight and have the last walk out of the battle field but you'll have to kill and leave two corpses behind.One is your innocence and the other is what stood in your way of doing what you believe was right.
By the way,Anayama and Kotaro are killed in this episode but my obs had an error,so...i couldn't add them in here.These npc interactions are one time and can not be repeated by resting.Enjoy.
