I actually ended up using Mortal Draw on this guy. That weapon art takes nice chunks of his health. All I had to do was bait his jump attacks to get openings.

Yeah I just spammed mortal draw until I had no spirit emblems left, then used fistful of ash and snap seeds to stun, then ichimonji doubled this mf. He had no chance.

Fistful of ash works pretty much as well. After every stunning item, get two hits, then the stun again. Yashariku sugar is recommended. Three snap seeds, then 10 fistfuls of ash, then however many firecrackers it takes.

You can also use ash to have the same effect as a firecracker, so 10 of them, plus snap seeds, then a couple firecrackers to finish off if need be, the monk never gets a chance to react

The easiest way is to run around him in circles all the time. You just have to watch out for the attacks and that you don't get stuck somewhere. As soon as he finishes an attack just hit him and run away again. You don't need any firecracker seeds or special abilities. You just need a little patience.

If you run out of firecrackers and go through 3-snap-seeds, you can also throw ash at the boss to get in a few hits. Throw another ash, get in a few more hits, rinse & repeat.

you're an actual goat i've watched like three other guides used divine confetti and wasted it like 2 times even used all of my snap seeds without beating him but then after your guide iused firecracker and got it first try! i also watch the whole sekiro walkthrough and i gotta say its beyond helpful

An easy boss to cheese, but an exhilarating fight if you do it "properly". I just did this again on NG+3 (after a break from Sekiro of about 6 months, admittedly) and just barely scraped through by the skin of my teeth after a lot of back-and-forth. I actually don't remember how I succeeded on my first run through, but I think long spark probably did its part

what do you mean by propperly? I don t think snap seeds are a cheese because in the item description it s written they work vs illusions. Cheesing is for me when u use stuff like baiting a certain attack punish it, then run, wait for same attack again and repeat it over and over.

@@lolno8406 Well, I used quotes because really I think anyone can do the fight however they like. But to me, cheesing is using a strategy which is a) easy to do b) highly effective and c) repeatable. So, for me, snap seeds would count, but you're right that it's savvy players who pay attention and read item descriptions who will know to use them here.

Start with the sparks... and also ash works the same. Then use the limited in number snap seeds when he is low on health. Love all your stuff fighting cowboy!!

You don't need snap seeds. Use your mortal draw and execute them after the Monk does her perilous attack. It should be done in less than 4 minutes

Holy shit, I just beat this guy first try through sheer fucking willpower lol. Out of emblems, out of heals and one hit away from death without a revive and I perfectly parried every single one of its attacks till I broke its posture!

Good fight. Just beat him with patience. 3 snap seeds at the right time especially after dodging his jump. Once your no longer able to use snapseeds then i went onto fistful of ash - threw one was able to get 3 clean hits then block immediately get out the way and compose yourself to repeat. Once ash has run out its time for firecrackerswhich you can actually spam between about 3 hits safely but time that r2 correctly for the next round of firecrackers. Was an epic fight for me as first play through and took me 8 times to fight before seeing this guide. A little tip always go in to the fight just to learn the boss when super ready lol go in to use your consumables. Forgot to mention i used the ceremonial tanto also for extra emblems

I am unfortunately not able to get more snap seeds, apparently there is quite a bit you need to do. Before being able to buy them from merchant in mibu village. Oh well, guess I'll just have to continue to suffer through this boss fight, and hope to get lucky lol.

Another thing to note for everyone is fistful of ash can be spammed to stun lock him as well after snap seeds and fireworks are out

I'm playing Sekiro for the first time. So far, this was the most enjoyable boss fight for me. It's just pure Sekiro. I try to not use a lot of prosthetics or any quick items at all. But this fight is like.. easy? All you need is parry, Mikiri and jump. Now I did use a firecracker or two on her, but I think I'll go back and do reflections of strength and try it without.

I didn't even think to use Firecrackers! I found 'Mortal Draw', along with a bit of parrying to be the means to easily defeatr this boss. Next time around, firecrfackers it is!

This boss is challenging but once you figure him out he's actually not too hard. I got him on my 4th attempt. The parry window is forgivable and his hit pattern is quite rhythmic. His telegraphs for the sweep vs the stab are fairly obvious when you see the difference. Firecrackers are incredibly op and when used can give you 6 clean hits to build the posture meter. Constant pressure with consistent deflects and blocks will lead to a quick win.

I’ve just recently started playing Sekiro even though I’ve had the game for like 2 years, and let me tell you, the guardian ape has been my toughest boss encounter yet. I’ve rage quit so many times with this sob! I’ll try the crap these videos show and I can never get it right! Hahaha 😂

my solution was run around until she spins 5 times or slams her spear into the ground with a grunt, you could get a free hit on those, 2 hits is cutting it close, maybe you would need to dodge out or block right after. not exactly the fastest way to do it but you do chip away some health lol

Managed to beat this thing almost by sword alone, after 0 deaths total, the boss told me to dodge his vertical attacks and hit that ass, run away from AoE attacks, use the mist of ravens if needed, when the boss is low use 2 snap seeds and attack in between, be careful it can attack if done incorectly. You can dodge his 4-5 spin attacks by dodging, after last one hit him once or twice. Some attacks i couldn't dodge.

Another very easy opening I’ve found is with the repeated spinning attack she does, party the first 4 swings and dash through the 5th and final one, she cannot follow up from this and you get a far better opening than if you were to parry all 5 hits. I didn’t even use snap seeds or prosthetics against this boss lol I didn’t realise how good they were at dealing with her, the moveset has a pretty predictable flow to it after you’ve fought her a few times, felt satisfying to perfect.

Yashariku Candy + Snap Seed + Firecrackers is all you need, it will takes around 30 second to kill her and she won't be able to do a single attack at all

I don't like recommending Yash to inexperienced players as it cuts your health in half. 1 mistake and you're dead using Yash.

Been stuck on this asshole for a few days now, what upsets me is that all these items you supposed to use aren't able to sustain enough to beat him. Can't find anymore snap seeds, firecrackers only have a limited number of use, can only carry so much ash. It's stupid

Loving these guides! Keep 'em coming! Just a couple nitpicks: confetti boosts damage against everything, just some enemies are weaker to it. You also said "we can see snap seeds are no longer effective," but you didn't actually waste one to show it not working in the video. :p

The Mortal Draw/Snap seed combo works better. Actually Ash + Mortal Blade works immensely better. No buffs needed.

he’s got this one spinning move where he smacks you like a hockey puck and if your too close to him it will always hit you no matter how well you time it, it smacks you like three times in one swing somehow. that’s kinda fucking bullshit i think🤷🏻‍♂️

idk if it’s a ng+ thing but every since i got to ng+1 enemies don’t take posture damage like when i do any amount of posture damage they get it back immediately so i’m forced to just take down their hp
