I just hooked them through the nose. In my catching lingcod with greenling I show the hooking but that was with premade halibut rigs with 2 hooks. You only need 1 hook. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ie3PMKX3YoI.html

I've never seen a flounder with teeth like that. That Halibut I thought was nice should have kept, and a couple nice lingcod. No rockfish?🎣

It's always hard to make that decision. But twice now I've got new species when I let them go. I didn't get any rockfish. That second ling spot was stacked with black rockfish I think. If I dropped a jig I would have got some. But I wanted to get after a bigger halibut before the weather turned.
