The sound is too harsh and bold,starting at 1:27 at Trumpets melody,Trumpets were too sharp and not in tune even though they should sounded flat in the cold hall.This song's melody should sound beautiful and calming but it sounded harsh.The clarinet's longtone at 2:48 were flat and not in tune and before the longtone the toungeing of few instrument was too harsh.At 4:01 the horn's counter melody were too slow and can not be heard,that part was supposed to support the melody and to add some colour to the sound,but it sounded plain with only the melody taking control of everything,every part matters.Horn cannot be heard,only suspended cymbal that has the same part as horn can be heard.Not balanced.The trumpet's last note at 4:29-4:30 swelled and it sounded bad.At 5:03,when the horns came in the tuba's are still overshadowing they horns even though theyre playing longtone.Maybe even though the tuba's dynamic shouldnt change when the horns came in but the tuba's should be under the horns.Afterall,theyre basses.Horns is the tenor.
kim yeol thanks for the comment but I have to disagree with the hall condition. The hall was not designed specifically with good acoustic feature and it was very warm and dry. We agree that our horns were a bit slow and that’s what I kept pushing them really hard and yes they at least meet my expectation. For the trumpet, we try to adjust them to play differently because this hall was not acoustically the same as our school hall. So with very limited time on stage during soundcheck, We tried everything we can to readjust the balancing as we’re not used to the stage and environment. It’s hard to live up to everyone’s expectation and believe me my kids have done the best referring the original recording and yes we managed to play with at least 85% similarities and minimal mistakes. But, there’s always room for improvement. Thanks for the critique and we will work harder to achieve our ultimate dream; pouring our souls out to live in people’s heart.

Wm Hussaini but I was told that SAS was the one who the judges actually want to give the best conductor to but the judges said that they were afraid that u guys will call them biases. Anyway, congrats!
@@ziqdam1396 By 'U guys' i suppose u mean 'the whole community of SBP that joined the competition' right? In that case, yes, you guys are not just bias, but use the opportunity of hosting the competition to have 15 minutes gap before your soundcheck turn (9.15pm to 9.30 pm for whatever shit the reason is), use the whole night to practise the stage before the day of soundcheck (i heard this from a trusted parties which knowing SAS, I knew that you people were capable of doing that), rearrange the number of schools who will be performing in each session right after cabut undi (i dont care if it happened to be any mistake on the tentative which was not told) and most importantly u guys must have known the judges well ahead than us. So yup im done. And congrats SAS for getting the Best Woodwinds Best Percussions this year, and Best Woodwind last year, Champion for both years? What else? and yeah, be able to play Jong-jong Inai and Sazali bla bla (sorry not really interested) very very well. I endorse. Keep it up for next year. What is it again for next year? Puteri Gunung Ledang? Oh wait. Must know who the judges first lah. Simple math. Stupid me hahahah sorry my bad.

Haha semalam sebelum souncheck tu ktrg just hanta exboys utk setup percussion dengan stage je Malam tu ktrg practise kat bilik band je do sbb kat dewan ada basketball sedap2 je kata ktrg pakai satu malam haha
