You are on the right direction, go even further back. in your dreams you also see a world through the senses of your dreamed body, but actually your dreamed body and it's senses and the world that is revealed by them are all in your mind only, take that as a pointer to how it is in this so called waking world. the mind creates all objective phenomenon including our illusory physical body with its senses and the world outside it, the inner objective phenomenon is also created by the mind, thoughts, feelings, body sensations (inner sensations such as hunger heat pain etc.) those are subtle objects and are also created by the mind. then who are you the subject? the one who is aware of the mind and its inner and outer worlds? you the subject the witness can not be perceived, as the only thing the eye can't see is itself but it always is that, (the 10th man story Swami ji just told). the mind is very powerful and it creates all objective phenomenon inner and outer, that's why as i'm sure you know in Advaita Vedanta and all true spiritual teachings we urged to go beyond the mind and its Maya to find our true self, peace.

Our request for duality was granted with the primary concept or illusion "I Am". A Course in Miracles calls it a tiny mad idea of a separate existence in a body. It says that we forgot to laugh at it.

Ur right !!! The universe is inside the atman or the consciousness you !!! Only one thing exists in this known universe and everything thing we can perceive and beyond that..which is CONSIOUSNESS only ..ADVAITA !!! That is CONSIOUSNESS alone exists in the entire universe and beyond..only one thing exists in reality CONSIOUSNESS ALONE !!!!

Swami Sarvapriyananda is very familiar with Western philosophy so probably knows the passage to which you are referring.

Consciousness cannot be experienced in the way we experience the objects including body/mind complex. It is self luminous. Because of consciousness we experience things, it's the light behind our experience. It itself cannot be experienced. @surajkumar-bs2nm Hope this clears your question in some way.
