Bc it was 'their' music. She was just the singer, her siblings were just the drummer, and guitar player, the husband and the rest all played a part. The brother wrote most the music. A team effort. Humble and truthful. Rip💝
Sarah Stewart the point is even when they went from ‘Selena Y Los Dinos’ to ‘Selena’ she always referred to the music as ‘theirs’ that’s what made her so amazing.
@@yana-jx6mm but even when she became just ‘selena’ in 94, she was just the singer/performer. The genius behind her music was los Dinos her band, so AB, Pete astudillo, Ricky Vela who all produced and wrote the lyrics. Suzette with instrument production etc. so ofc she would still say ‘ours’, it’s not like she went from producing and writing her own songs
I don’t speak Spanish but I absolutely love Selena’s music. It’s timeless pieces of art It’s so tragic that she was taken from the world at such a young age she had so much more to accomplish as artist and grow as wife sister daughter. She will always be one of my biggest inspirations
This really makes her look more real than any other interview she did. She looks like one of us. Sounds like one of us. I don't care about the color of her skin or the color of my skin we are all sisters and brothers in Christ Amen!
What a beautiful Soul!!Just caught a small snipet of the case of her murder on SKY News back in 1996.Now I am learning her just how beautiful she was.She did not deserve what happened to her.May Yolanda Salvidor rot from the inside out!!!!!!
I'm asian. Listened to Selena since 1994 (heard her music on radio & been a fan since). A lot of us do as her beautiful soul came through that beautiful voice which made languages, colors, politics, etc. transparent, borderless, and boundless. An agent of love, greatness, happiness, and kindness
Selena always gave credit to her family and band, she was absolutely right, it takes the whole team for success. She and her family came from nothing and buit legacy. I admire and respect the Hispanic community and selena and her family were mexican american that made the americna dream come true. ❤❤❤
I love seeing all ethnicities embracing Selena I think its a beautiful thing that a woman who mostly had spanish records out can touch people from all backgrounds and not just us Latino/Latina that say alot. I know the movie had something to do with it but its still amazing. SELENA FOREVER
9:15 nah mean that's how I feel when people of color like bands like nirvana and Alice in chains it's nice that white artists can be appreciated by all as well music it is music you don't have to be a particular race to like a particular type of artist.when an artist is talented it doesn't matter
@@randombro89 most black people in the US grew up listening or hearing rock bands.I was brought up on all kinds of music. I’ll blast some rock music in a minute
"putting makeup so you don't scares anyone"-selena.... she's so funny but omg she was beautiful without or with makeup she was beautiful in the inside and the outside
So sad when she's talking about her English album & after its released & in interviews saying where she started with tex mex music, sad that that never happened since she passed while still recording Dreaming of You. She was so excited & so full of life & it's just so sad that she's gone. She really was a role model unlike so many stars nowadays, why do we lose all the good people. She really was a beautiful person.
She was such a great role model. She was very well spoken and she seemed to be a very nice and sweet person. We need more artists like her in the music business.
That’s because she was brought up as a regular person. She knows exactly how it feels to be in our shoes. Unlike kids who come from rich parents, Selena grew up in a regular middle class home with a mom and dad who worked to keep a roof over her head……just like us. Thins about Selena is she is NOT perfect and does NOT pretend to be. That’s what makes her respected and loved.
I know right??? That's exactly what I started thinking when I started watching interviews of her lol! Because obviously in her Spanish music you don't hear her accent haha. I was like Whaaaatt??? :) She sounds so down to earth. I love her southern accent #RIPSelena
***** I meant the country as in small country towns like Munday TX, Benjamin TX, Rhineland TX...etc etc... I'm from the city as in I'm from Dallas TX. I know Texas is a state.
this video is so like it was yesterday really a few months ago! It's hard to believe this video is 21 plus years old! To one of the greatest female vocalist of all time of any era or Genre!!!! and not to mention her favorite boy group the Barrio boyzz! Of the great state of New York! enjoy to all Selena fans all over! Please put God first keep him first God bless and enjoy!
calaragazza I don't know what happened to you in your life to make you such a negative person. Apparently you were the one who seemed to care so much about when I was born, because you were the only one who brought it up. Don't be concerned with what I'm doing, and just enjoy the fucking music. (: Have a nice day.
calaragazza but you were the one who chose to comment something about it. You took the time out of your day to say something about someone who said nothing about you or towards you. You get my point now?
Because she’s like the rest of us. Unlike some famous people, she didn’t have her success HANDED to her. She and her family had to work for it. She also wasn’t born on a silver platter. She came from a regular middle class household like the rest of us. At one point, they went bankrupt and had to move to their uncle’s house. And despite her success, she shows that her family means the world to her and she loves her fans and greets them with a smiling face and nothing less.
Not gonna lie, I never would've listened to Tejano music if it hadn't been for her. She also inspired me to continue learning Spanish. That's what's so great about her, she made people expand their musical and cultural horizons.
She's so beautiful, inside and out! And she's absolutely right about the English album helping to spread Tejano music to even more people because it happened with me. I heard her English songs first and loved them from the beginning and I also loved the Spanish songs that were included on the Selena soundtrack and Dreaming of you album, which lead to my eventually buying albums entirely in Spanish.
So well spoken and unlike many artists now she knew exactly what she was talking about with her music and how to promote it. She seemed like such a sweet genuine person. I love her music! Shell always live on.
@@JRae1 thing is 90s wasn’t that long ago and the camera quality has always been good but when people take videos from that era and upload them to RU-vid the quality comes out worse and makes it look very old
Awwww how precious I really hear her texas twang, so lovely to see and hear the beautiful Selena! Oh how I wonder what she'd look like today, this was wonderful to see!
14 people must of accidentally hit the dislike button meaning to hit the like button. After all, they are close to each other. Anyways, love you forever and always Selena. :)
November 26, 2018: Blessings to your memory and family for many years to come! (You remind me so much of my own daughter Candice Marie Duran, who was born on January 12, 1981 in Waltham, MA.) Love you, Kate (Lynchburg, VA)
I love you Selena 💜💜💜 and I want to be just like her when I get older. 🙏🙏 and she is my favorite singer in the whole world because I always listen to her songs every single day. Because her voice is so beautiful 🥰🥰 I wish to meet her so bad 🙏🙏 love fan Samiyah from Nsl
Such a beautiful, humble and kindhearted soul.. you don't get much of that anymore from some celebrities these days. Selena was and still is a unique and one of a kind person. We miss you Selena!!
i miss selena...she would have been an icon...great looks smile body..voice...lucious everything...her song dreaming of you is my most favourite song in the whole wide world
It seriously hurts that she was taken away so soon & in such an act of betrayal and violence. It makes NO SENSE at all. Too often it takes just one evil person to sow such destruction. I watch Selena and it's hard to believe someone so vibrant is dead. But to me she will never be dead. I carry her in my heart and I listen to her every day. I just miss her horribly and if I've been this effected by her death for so long I cannot imagine her family's pain. God help them.
@jm.3617 It’s always the sweetest and most humble people who get betrayed and taken advantage off. And it sucks. I was only 4 when she passed so I never got the chance to observe the REAL her on tv, concerts, interviews, award shows, etc. it wasn’t until the movie was released that I learned about Selena. But I could imagine having her as one of my role models during my teen and preteen years during the early 90s.
She was such a lovely lady, what a shame she had to leave this world so tragically and unexpectedly, she had so many plans and a very bright future, rip
Bushwacker she worked very hard she supported her whole family when they lost everything, she had to learn Spanish and dance while singing, getting ready before gigs, when she was recording dreaming of you she actually had bronchitis but her father told her to at least try to Tough it out it some where on google that information, I notice in 1995 she was starting to look more tired in interviews but still kept smiling through it all,.. but yea she did work hard for everything their was no social media or internet back then that could have made her famous and known more easier her success was all blood, sweat, and tears
