It was the little girl who played Selena as a kid (Rebecca Lee Meza) who made the rest of the movie so good. She really done a good job. I hate that she didn't pursue acting further. She had such a huge future ahead of her.

i think it's because at some point she started receiving death threats after getting the role (which is horrible because she was just a little kid), but that most likely turned her away from pursuing her career.

I have this movie. I also have The special edition one deleted scenes that where not on the movie when it was released. But I never heard of selena until the movie. Since then I'm.a massive fan. I can sing her songs in Spanish now. Love all her songs. Have loads of videos of her. Also own selena the last concert. She would have been bigger than madonna. La Reina de la musica tejano.
