She did the have a boutique, it was called Selena Etc and it did also provide hair and nail services. There were two, one in Corpus Christi and the other one in San Antonio.
@@BlancaPerdomo both boutiques are closed now unfortunately. I watched a guy named “Scott on Tape” (check out his videos) here on RU-vid who did multiple Selena related videos and he went to the Corpus Cristi boutique and I think it’s a real estate office now and the one in San Antonio was or is a record store.
I was so excited. But, EVERY SINGLE THING seemed at best a half ass attempt. Everything just felt flat. If someone would have told me it was like a mockumentary, I would believe it. The actress playing Selena, while very beautiful, had nothing on Jennifer Lopez 's portrayal of Selena. And to me, neither look like her but J. Lo was Selena in the film, you never doubt her for a second in the entire movie. I agree, when it comes to this series Selena did deserve better. Nothing besides Selena herself will ever even come close to the movie
The lack of effort and authenticity in this show honestly offends me as a Selena fan. I didn’t feel respected as the audience. It was so sanitized, the jokes were cheesy and I was cringing most of the time. I couldn’t even get through all the episodes :(
Many feel that series was “white washed” and that Selena’s features were made to seem more European. And yes there were parts that were cringey like when she meets Chris.
It’s people saying Suzette & the family were involved with the casting but... Suzette herself in a interview said “Most Latinos, when they look at her they see themselves. She was not a wera and she was not blonde hair. She was a little bit dark skin/tan & had the dark hair.” Yet she picked a white passing actress to play Selena... how does suzette look better than Selena in the series...
@@yesskp1 I totally agree. Plus Christian physically doesn't make u think of Selena. She's way too thin to be Selena. They set the tone when they casted Christian as Selena. I was hoping that that wouldn't matter but they settled for content and not quality. The movie gave you quality as well as great content.
I feel like they made her out to be very dumb and ditzy, when Selena was actually very funny. Christian was more child like than womanly like Selena/jlo.
Ok, someone else saw it too !! Yeah, like the part in the series where Johnny Canales is teasing Selena that she only knew how to ask her dad for money in Spanish back when he first met her as a child performer and then they make Selena respond to Canales all child-like and giggling. In real life Selena is playful with Canales but also gives him a mature response that made her look like a professional that wanted to be taken seriously now as an adult. It’s subtle but very important. Selena knew what she was doing, she wasn’t just smiles and giggles. I don’t know if production pushed Serrano to act more child-like or what but this performance needed waaay more nuance.
I hated it and she wấs not the right fit for the queen her dancing was bad lip syncing was bad wigs were bad chris was bad the children were better than the ádult actors i fell ấsleep 3 times smh
Girllllll I was saying the same thing! The wigs were HORRIBLE!!! And the clothing should have been WAYYY better. Also, the woman playing Selena did not perform the way I expected her to. The dancing and the lip syncing... was just not there It made me realize how much of a good job jlo and the man who played Chris did in the movie.
For sure she didn’t perform as Selena did, but I mean who could. Definitely was expecting her to somewhat resemble her in some way shape or form. Poor Chris was made to look like a background character
Chris Perez is going back to court in February 2021. The Netflix series was produced by Abraham and Suzette and had strong focus on both charactors. Netflix series Selena is a background character in her own life and Abraham and Suzette are highlighted in the series along with AB and Chris Perez is in the background along with Selena in part 1 of the series one dimensional character s.
also, Selena didn't get the respect and hard work a series about her life deserved. You know Netflix was capable of doing it right, look at The Queens Gambit, Money Heist, Vis a Vis /Locked up, etc.
I actually enjoyed it. It was very detailed on her life and things we didn’t see in the movie. It’s telling the story very well. And I’m a big Selena fan!
I only liked the series for showing more back story but to me the movie just summed everything up! All the actors/actresses in the movie were icons themselves which made it better. I’m Native American/Mexican-American and I loved how Selena tried to find/found her identity as a Mexican-American. I hope part 2 will be better but I don’t want to watch the woman that took her from us. I’ve been to Corpus Christi and Lake Jackson. You can feel her presence! Everybody loves her there! I enjoyed your review and agree with everything you said!
I know right! What I got from the series is that Abraham Q did not have much of an interest in teaching his kids about their Mexican roots, culture and language... that is not until he realized that the Tejano music was doing really good at the time, so all of a sudden he's like "we're mexican you gotta learn how to SING in spanish!" I don't know the whole time I just felt like he was one of those little girl pageant moms, the ones that couldn't win the crown so now they abused their kids trying to live their dream thru them...
I recommend that you read Chris Perez book and you will hear the authentic true story of Selena. Chris Perez was planning to do series on his book their friendship & love story but Abraham blocked the series and took him to court and he lost the case. Chris Perez was not consulted or had anything to do we with Netflix series..
The tone for the show was set with the casting of Selena. Latin fans loved Selena because she looked like them. She was a darker skinned Mexican-American woman with dark hair who grew up poor and achieved her dreams. She gave people hope and was(is) an inspiration too millions around the world. She was an intelligent woman who never gave up on her dreams, loved her culture, and family. I liked that they did attempt to show that she experimented with different looks and hairstyles. This was true. Chris said in his book that there wasn't anything that she didn't try that she couldn't do well. She was multifaceted. He said that she also did not just go along with stuff . She voiced her opinions and stuck to her beliefs, stood her ground. What also made people love her was she wasn't perfect, she made mistakes. She laughed at herself. This is another BIG thing they should have shown. She was funny too, and a real joker. She and Los Dinos also did more recordings for other labels when she was very little. They made it look like she was on EMI and one other and that's it. I truly feel like Netflix chose an amount of content and not quality. Suzette and Abraham were producers , but I think ultimately Netflix tried too hard to make the series look like any other show instead of hammering home that she was a Latina who grew up in Texas, and loved who she was. If u make a Mexican series , u have to include the culture.
I feel like they threw shade at Chris in the end when he was listening to dreaming of you.... Because Chris said in his book and in an interview he never listened to the song on his own
Kind of got the same vibe. I feel that they just ousted him and took oveer the estate and image of Selena. Which IMO, he should be running as he was her husband, but I heard he didn't want the money or anything like that. And you can tell, he still loves her.
AB got turned into a way too hot man, Pete became a giant when in reality he was about the same height as Selena, Chris' hair was a whole frizzy mess that looked more like current Chris Perez than 90s Chris. I don't have an issue with the actors for Suzy, Ricky and the parents though, they're as spot on as they can get ESPECIALLY Ricky! Hunter Peña looked so much like Ricky! Wish I could say the same about Christian as Selena, it's definitely the wigs that are the biggest outliers keeping her from looking like her best Selena.
I’m actually not done watching the series yet but I knew it was gonna have mixed reviews starting with the fact Christian looks more like the Jlo version of Selena than the actual Selena. Thanks for the review!
I loved this video and agree with you 100% they had a series which equals time and of course a they could have done much better on production with a better budget just looks at other Netflix original series and how beautifully they are produced they absolutely fell short 💜
Thank you Jacquelyn! For sure they could’ve done much better. I think they were too focused on the costumes, which is fine, but they dropped the ball on other things. I just kept comparing it to the movie and it felt it lacked a lot (the series)
That’s point I forgot to bring up 😅 I love that they’re doing a series on her so that a new generation can be exposed to her impact but at the same time, representation matters. There’s barely if at all any stories about Afro Latinos and legit people think that there aren’t any black Latinos. It’s why many don’t consider Cardi B black because she’s Dominican 🙄😅 the only person of color that had a series based on her life was Celia Cruz. Aside from her, I don’t think anyone else has a telenovela or series.
They made it seem like Selena only performed Jodie Watley in Mexico and that's it when she covered a lot of folks music in many performances at different times in her life. Plus she did English music of her own WAY before the English albums, and performed them in concerts from the 80s on into the 90s. I wish they had shown how she really was with fans during concerts and in public. She used to sign autographs after concerts, and if fans asked for them. Plus took photos with them. Selena was VERY intelligent and independent as well. They should've shown that.
I agree 100% with everything. I tried to like the series but I ended up annoyed at the end of the series. The way they portrayed Selena and Chris’s relationship was so forced and cringey! It did not seem natural and there was no chemistry. It was the typical “love at first sight” or simple attraction between a boy and girl. It was annoying listening to the script and some of the lines they exchanged... it was just... disappointing. Every single time they would ask Selena if she’s okay and then something heartfelt would come out. I guess I can what they were going for but it was forced and cheesy. Idk. I guess I wanted something more... real and raw 🤷🏻♀️ I definitely recommend reading Chris Perez’s book To Selena, With Love. Btw...The wigs were atrocious. 😓
I agree 100% with you! Ive been waiting for this with such excitement! I was so disappointed with the Selena Series! I was expecting the magic of Selena! Christian did Not do a good job. The Wigs?!!! Were out of control the quality was horrible. I’m so devastated because I love Selena so much and love all her early songs and journey. They didn’t bring her to life, and this was such an important series that could’ve been an amazing production, very saddened by this. JLo will always be our Selena she truly brought her to life
Selena was so big back in the 1990s that her autobiography the one that was in Spanish and English on the same page was in the PX sold out for weeks on US military bases and Selena t shirts, music, and merchandise was everywhere. I remember being shocked at how she died many of my best friends back then got me into her music. I feel she was the equivalent and impact of Aaliyah to my generation. I always felt the Hollywood movie of Selena captured the charisma and draw of Selena and invited an international audience to become new fans. I feel like the Netflix version Disneyfied her story a lot. I’m sure she was more quiet and introverted like some people at points of her life. Clearly, it’s obvious it’s not coming from her perspective. I’m going to hold my thoughts until we get to see part two. Selena fashion alone impacted a lot of girls when we were tweens and teenagers back then. I’m glad her art, flair, fashion and legacy lives on for future artists to be inspired from though.
The Netflix series seemed more like a LIfetime movie, the energy was not good, the acting, wigs, and the dance moves were not on point at all. The show pretty much focused more on her dad and her brother rather than Selena herself.
Now that you mention it, yes. It did have a lifetime quality vibe. That’s the biggest criticism that I and many have pointed out. Felt like it focused too much on them and made Selena, Pete and few others background characters
I get it this your opinions about the selena series I like it but the thing that I wish they show more of Selena and Chris love stories or Selena mental health of stressed out about her going solo or how Yolanda stole money. I also Christian really cut her hair. I blame the family for doing that. Of course I love the movie too. But I wish the Quintanilla and Chris work together and tell the story better but like you say the quintanilla family was playing safe and refused to tell us about selena personality. In Chris book he told everything from selena and her father having fights or selena riding the motorcycle. Which i didn't know that but like I said good series but I wish more details about selena life
I loved Selena. I was a young kid when she died but I loved her music. She was very pretty too. I can’t bring myself to watch anymore movies about her. It will never be the real her. But it’s nice they are paying tribute and keeping her memory alive.
Same here. I was about 3-4 years old when she passed away but my mom always played her music. She and my mom are the same age so when into context, she died relatively young. It’s so sad.
The only thing that I thought Christian did well was her accent. I feel like she nailed Selena's accent because it was such a unique accent. Outside of that I felt she did an okay job as Selena. The lip syncing and stiff dancing was hard to watch.
This series focuses more on their story, which is a lot more valuable than just looks. If anything , the looks was a good time no alcohol required *brownie points if anyone knows the reference* 🤩
Tbh watching the series more I actually like it yea she doesn’t look like Selena but she really does know how to act and show us how Selena was as a person btw the other actors too they know how to act
I watched all the episodes of the Selena's series that's on netflix. I think it's bad. She wasn't good for the roll. She did bad. She doesn't even look like Selena. Not even a little bit. She's skinner than Selena. The people that played the parents, the brother, the sister, & the husband. Didn't even look a little like them. The wigs they wore in the netflix series look bad. Her lips singing is bad. The green screen looks stupid. I don't like how the netfilx series made it like it wasn't about Selena's legacy & her death. It was about Abraham how he came up with the band, & how he managed the band from when they were kids till Senela died. The 1997 Selena movie is better. Jennifer Lopez played Selena very well. The parents, the brother, the sister, Selena's husband look kind of like them. The movie didn't use a stupid green. The 1997 did a good job at portraying Selena's legacy, Selena Chris's love story & Selena's death well. Jennifer Lopez did a very good job at doing the roll of Selena. At least the people who played the parent, the brother, the sister, & Selena's husband looked like them a little bit. I can watch the movie so many time & not get bored of it. Every time I watch the movie I cry.
I agree. Christian isn’t a bad actress, it’s just the role isn’t for her. Like we say in Spanish “el papel le quedo muy grande” “the role was too big for her”. Her body type isn’t even close to Selena’s and that where a lot of the criticism is coming from too. Many feel that series was white washed and that they striped away Selena’s features. Yeah the lip syncing was bad. You could tell she was lip syncing and at what one point I remember saying that the song she was lip syncing to wasn’t even Selena’s voice. I also feel like the series reaffirmed for many that Mr. Abraham pushed them into this career path and that Selena had a lot of pressure in order to provide for her family from a very young age. I do agree that the actors had somewhat of a resemblance to the people they were portraying. I do wish they had given justice to Selena’s and Chris’ love story.
I'm so glad you said that part about "If it wasn't for the movie..." because I feel like there are soooo many people who act like they are Selena fans and/or experts, but they really only know what they've seen from the J.Lo version of Selena
I think the show was great and so was the movie I don’t see why people have to hate on it I think everyone did an amazing job and worked hard for it so imagine how u would feel if you worked hard and ppl say “I think the movie is better” “they didn’t do a great job” “it’s a let down” “🤮”. It’s sad pls stop hating
Girl im like 20 minutes in the first episode and I just turned it off , I felt like the actress did not fit the role of selena at all 😴 i really wanted to give it a chance
Great review! While I really enjoyed looking more into the family and seeing their contributions towards the iconic music we know today, I just felt like the entire series didn’t really know what it wanted to be. At times it was focusing on Selena and it is her series LOL but I also felt like it spend a lot of time branching out into other family members in which case it should’ve just been titled “The Quintanilla family”. My biggest problem : I never bought Christian as being Selena and I felt like even when she was “ performing” I wasn’t buying it. I’ll definitely watch the second half just had a curiosity but I really don’t think I’ll ever we watch the series again.
It was the rushed transitions, the first song that teenage Selena sang with someone else’s vocals, more scenes with her siblings and father than her, them not including Blake Shelton, her backup dancer who passed away, her dance moves were super fast compared to Selena, the fact that the cast said they didn’t meet her family until 2 weeks before they were done filming, the inaccuracy of certain events that they could have made right this time with the series... ughhhh 😩 I tried to look positively despite reading all the negative reviews.but they really missed the whole focus, which was SELENA ... like damn they really had the opportunity to make this great and they missed it 😪
Yeah I kept looking up scenes like the music awards and videos and comparing them to the series..some were not accurate. And yes I did notice that there were certain scenes when she was singing that it wasn’t even Selena’s voice.
You are so right when I watched the series it was my first time learning about Selena and I was so interested in knowing her but because of the music I wanted to know who she was then I found out and I lost a bit of interest in the series
I haven’t watched the movie or the series on netflix, but it’s good to know and hear about it. I usually watch b/w my daily chores when my husband plays something , otherwise usually don’t get the time 😊 Very nice review and we’ll presented 👍
I highly recommend the Movie!! It’s such a beautiful Biopic JLo did a phenomenal job! You should watch it 🙌🏼 Amazing story of Selena and how amazing she was as a person and entertainer
Jennifer Lopez covered all the basis with movie. This Netflix series was just bad all the way around. I couldn’t get past the first episode. It made me want to watch the movie instead. This series is a flop, and I believe Hollywood tends to pick and choose which dead celebrities they want to exploit the most, Selena is one of them. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I never watched these series but will check them out. Kinda need my brain to swtch into something else at night after running around the house, kids, Christmas and daily Blogas videos :) Thanks for the review.
Oh I understand the sentiment! Sometimes with kids, you just need something to unwind. Even with the mixed reviews it’s received, I would still recommend people to watch it
we got a Selena show queen of tejano music on Netflix now I’m waiting for a Joe Lopez king of tejano music show so we can see his life how he and his family grew up and how he got the group Grupo Mazz
The show did it justice as someone who grew up with Selena. Considering her family is in charge of the show and producing it along with Netflix I'm sure they are happy as there weren't happy with jlo or James Edward Olmos as said so in interviews. So what your saying is the family doesn't know how to make a show about their own lives 😂
I’m not saying that they don’t know how to make a show about their own lives. What I am saying is that they are being biased, perhaps omitting certain things that they don’t want the public to know and try to portray themselves in a certain light.
@@BlancaPerdomo Exactly, I’m really side eyeing on why the family was involved in the series because I feel like it wasn’t really authentic due to what you said, their parents/family having bias and choosing what they want Selena and the whole family to be portrayed as
I think what people are forgetting is that the movie was a movie. It wasn’t the “original” story, the original story was her actual life. While I will agree that Christian doesn’t look much like Selena at all or capture her essence, Suzette made a good point: you’re never gonna find someone who looks and acts exactly like Selena because she was one of a kind. I love the stories that the series dives into that the movie never did. I loved getting to see all her looks like the permed hair, short poofy hair and 80’s outfits. So many of us are used to only seeing Selena as she was during the last few years of her life and that’s just it! It was only a fraction of her life and career. So many longtime fans are getting introduced to songs we had never even heard before because of the series. And I do think the acting was good. Christian just plays to a different side of Selena, but so did JLo. JLo was the “performer” version of Selena through the whoooole movie. We can’t be expected to believe she was always like that 24/7. I actually disagree with what you said about Selena being imperfect and the series not showing that, I feel like Christian’s version of Selena is much more human and down to earth than Jennifer’s. I will admit the wigs, particularly the straight, middle part wig from the early 90’s era was horrible. But besides that, I think you, and so many others, are being biased because of the movie that we all grew up watching. I love the movie. But there is plenty of room for both to exist, especially when I feel like the series adds so much insight and depth into not only who Selena was, but who the whole Quintanilla family was and how important they were to her. 🌹 And we also need to remember that there’s a part 2 coming! You talk about how they didn’t develop her and Chris’ relationship enough or they didn’t show enough of the struggle to make the English album (which I do not understand at all, seeing as it was a big topic of conversation throughout the series that she really wanted to make an English album, but the label kept insisting on her making more and more Spanish albums before doing that) anyways you keep saying that, but there’s a whole other part with several more episodes coming! That’s obviously going to expand on those two topics. So I don’t get your point. And if the family was being biased, why would they be so willing to portray Mr. Quintanilla in such a negative light, with such a short temper, constantly wanting more and more from his kids? I get your review is an opinion, but it seems like it was influenced by other’s opinions because you contradict yourself. As a fan of Selena for all my life, as a fan of the movie, I loved this series.
My review was on part 1 and what in my opinion they did and didn’t show. Obviously when part 2 comes out there’s going to be a review on those episodes and the series as a whole. I felt that they made Selena look like she was meek and never challenged anything. Which is wrong because it’s obvious her family didn’t want her to be with Chris. Heck, they even sued him for trying to put a series out 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t understand what you mean when you say i contradict myself...
@@BlancaPerdomo yeah it was the song Parece que va a llover. They could have used Selena’s recording of that song from when she was 12 years old but instead they used someone else’s voice which was just weird.
You only picturing the last concert selena this girl to me. Images selena in a whole different way she is humble unlike jlo who acts like she dont even speak spanish0
Even the movies had lot of inaccuracies I mean I know I'm kind of Nick picky is still good movie but I wish they could still Have gotten everything right like toward t the end of the movie as they show Selena's death after she's been shot and being taken away on a stretcher, she is wearing jeans and a short sleeve top. In real life, Selena was wearing a regular gray jogging suit and no she had no makeup on plus it also appears selena was shot in the stomach but real life she was shot in back that went through her upper right shoulder Also the Grammys did not take place in LA it was in new York The scene where she meets chris for the first time was not at her house but a Denny's parking lot The hotel trashing scene happened after they got married Also AB wasnt there at the Grammys Few nick picks lol
I think the death scene was fine seeing as she was just murdered two years prior to the movie being released. Probably too soon for the parents, Chris and everyone else to relive those moments.
And you are right Christian does not look anything like Selena one thing is Selena was 2" taller than Christian And also to Selena was also thicker than Christian Christian looks too thin
I love the series perfect and it's more perfect because is based on Selena and not Jlo . The Actress acted like Selena her smile was natural and not fake nor force to be . She nailed the character Selena was more than a sexy body , her youth spirit , her smile, her young character , attitude , expression, emotion this actress transmitted all this and gave my young Selena joy, happiness and character. Love it for those who are complaining and more being ignorant comparing this actress with Jlo better for you people to go and search for Selena Bio, videos and most get to know who was Selena and apart from her body take time to realize her beautiful soul ,persona, attitude and character then you will realize this actress nailed her role because the series is "Selena series nor Jlo Series. So Instead of hating and criticizing the series (stfu) and enjoy it because if you really love Selena or consider yourself a Selena-Fan it's a shame for you acting immature because Selena is death but her legacy ain't death and Selena keeps living in her legacy and true fans get this in your mind no one In this world looks, not can be Selena not even Jlo there was only one Selena and no other actress nor singer could ever be like her nor look like her .
I feel like people are hating just to hate. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but the series nailed Selena while the JLo movie disappoints me every time i watch it. The cast is great, the wigs didn’t bother me because real hair in the 80’s looked that bad and this series is based off her super early years, did yall expect her to sing on gold dusted stages and have huge stadiums to perform in😂😂. The series felt inexpensive and homemade which is exactly how it should feel considering the series takes place before she reached stardom. I also think that Christian captured Selena’s essence better than JLo. J Lo played the media’s version of Selena, the long hair, bangs, lipstick, and red nails, but that’s not what got her famous. Only true Selena fans will appreciate the series and the detail they payed attention to. The first gold album, her early homemade outfits, the afro and her family’s involvement in the band which was not shown in the film. Sorry but the series is great if you a real Selena fan and Christian did an amazing job as young 80’s Selena. P.S this was a great review and you did good in getting your points across, this comment is just for the people who won’t even bother to watch the series or did and watched it closed minded with the thought of hating it already in their heads.
It's not hate as it is my own observation and opinions on the series. No one said that we were expecting "gold dusted" stages and huge performances for the early years, but at least show some level of effort. To say that have to like series in order to be a "true" Selena fan is not accurate. That's more of an opinion if anything. There are die hard fans who agree with you and others who clearly don't.
@@BlancaPerdomo Yeah I know this is your review and your opinions on the series as a Selena fan, I didn’t mean to aim this comment at you, more to the “fans” who aren’t going to even bother watching it or the people who did watch it and watched it “knowing” they were going to hate it and kept that same mentality while watching it. The series was far from perfect, but I feel like it did capture Selena’s personality beautifully. I also love that they made it feel like a soap opera, because Selena was a huge fan of soap opera’s and telenovelas so it was a nice touch. Christian did a great job, she captured Selena’s bubbly personality and her naivety in the music industry and how she slowly transitions into a more independent and confident young woman. Like I said, I feel like people are saying the movie is better, because people only know 90’s Selena, which is what the film focuses on. The series went fully into her early years and showed us soo much about her family and the struggles they went through, so for people to be saying the series is unnecessary and to stick with the movie doesn’t seem fair. In the film I didn’t feel like i was watching Selena I felt like I was watching JLo, in the series I was able to sense Selena’s presence and every time Christian was on screen she took the spotlight with all of her charm and joy. Anyways this is going longer than I thought, I think this is a good review and you are obviously entitled to your own opinions, I’m aiming this more at Selena’s ignorant fans who are hating on the series and nitpicking at it for no reason.
I know I look different without makeup...so what’s your point 😂 And you’re right she’s “doesn’t” have to look like her but it sure does help to resemble her and act like her
I didn't believe JLo either - maybe it's b/c I was in my teens when it came out. JLo hurt my damn heart. I was like why can't they find a Mexican girl to play the role? Why couldn't they find someone who could sing? In some parts, they tried to use JL's voice. I was very disappointed. I've very surprised by so many liking the movie. I was on a whole other wavelength when that film came out. I just push people to watch her videos and listening to songs - not the movie. Now, not the series. Just a disappointment. Who's a famous Mexican actress? Who's a great Mexican actress out there to really do this? Technically speaking Haitians are Latina. However, I'm not Mexican but she was part of my generation & she sang English songs that were really popular. She sang really catchy Spanish songs & we watched Telenovelas in my house that my mom liked b/c she understood a bit of Spanish...so...Meaning we would end up watching her on Latin MTV. Not to be seemingly microaggressive (and I'm a black woman - shameful) but there are amazing black American wig stylists around who would have rocked her out of this world.
That was one of the biggest criticism at the time the movie came out. Apparently the family had offered the role to Salma Hayek, but she turned it down. While Jlo didn’t look exactly like her, there were moments where she did resemble her a lot. Out of the two, jlo was close to Selena’s body type. I think with Christian, they have had to use padding to achieve Selena’s curvy body. At least that’s what it looked like to me. I agree with the wigs! They were horrible! They’ve definitely could have and should have hired someone that could’ve done an amazing job with the wigs.
I believe in supporting our Latin people so I think they did a great job and it’s good to see more of real life in the story I love the Selena movie because it’s about Selena but JLO is a horrible actress and so fake in real life but I guess at the time they could not find anyone better
I loved the movie with jlo and even with the mixed reviews the trailer got, I was hoping it would be better. I would still watch if I were you. It had some nice moments ☺️
Dont listen to fat dumb ass bitches like her. Watch it. It's good! Y'all so stuck up on the jlo film which was rushed n inaccurate. This goes more into detail. They never showed how she became famous. The movie went from her being a kid to her being a star. Where's the middle parr
⬆️Glad you’re here still providing engagement 😂 keep up the insults, since it seems thats only what you’re good for and actually proving constructive criticism.
This series actually portrayed her family her sister her father her mother and her brother so accurately better than the movie ever did you must be a little teenager I didn't notice any wigs in the series at all I feel like you're being a hateful person but I clicked on your link because you obviously have no followers so I was helping you out
If you didn’t notice how bad the wigs were then 😬 That i will agree that the actors portrayed her family better. And I’m not being hateful. Just pointing what I thought were the flaws imo. Lastly, yeah I have “no followers” and “needed” you help 😭 thanks for watching and the engagement 😁
