Personally, it helps me a lot to have compassion for myself when I fail and situations don't go the way I want them to. On this way I recognize that it is human to fail sometimes. It's ok to fail sometimes.

Wow! Ed speaks to me direct...I want to listen to him more n more, for me lack of confidence causes overthinking and overanalyzing .....Confidence and confusion can't go together...clarity is key. I have noted that in the moments when I am confident, my heartbeat is calm, my focus is clear...because am clear on what am doing and if it works well and good, if it doesn't fine, I learn anyway.

outstanding and thank you I sprained my knee about 1.5 weeks ago and l could not walk at all and or work out. My confidence was wrecked and it was great that you indicated that there are times when the confidence is not there but just a phase. I am back in the game again. Thank you again I think these posts are great and I read them weekly you are my mentor for sure and on the 2nd read of the power of one more the specific chapter the power of prayer I read several times when I was down during the injury and am happy to say I am to a christian and I recovered very quickly through prayer and mental toughness. Confidence thru Faith - Faith without works is dead 🙌🏽 meaning having faith on Sunday then going to work in a meeting on Monday alone is not it! FAITH WITH WORKS - work with faith, faith while you work makes your faith alive!

I'm an atheist, but I would have to disagree with when you said "You'd think religious people would get confidence from their faith" (paraphrasing) but they do! All the confidence in the world, because those people know that whatever they do and wherever they go, their God is with them. It gives great confidence for them to know they're not alone and that everything will be okay. Things will always work out. Trust in yourself. Trust in God. ok..you guys did go more into that as I was writing..

Is there any validity in having someone in your corner to support you with emotional needs? For example, I haven’t been hugged in years, or anyone whom I admire speak confidence in me. Yes I know we’re supposed to suck it up, man up, and avoid being stuck and all but sometimes I feel like a heartfelt vote of confidence and the ability to talk to someone would be nice otherwise we’re not addressing the root cause.
