I made the bandeau top!!! I’m obsessed! I did end up having to pin it on my body because it was a little boxy with bigger boobs but it’s SO cute! Thanks for this tutorial! This was my first sewing project that wasn’t just altering my clothes!

another lovely tutorial, your slip on dress self draft is my go to for summery dresses and it never failed me. ( I did a few alterations according to my body type).

so cute!!! been waiting for this 😊 for shirring ngl I wind up my elastic thread on the sewing machine. I hold the elastic in my hand so I can control the tension as it winds on to the bobbin and keep it light. my projects come out fine, the tension as I sew is ok. I do end up ironing over it and that shrinks it. 🤷♀

I mean... wouldn't it be more logical if you DID stretch the elastic bobbin thread when winding it? You want it to be in a stretched state as it sews onto the fabric, so that it *wants* to bunch up. If you're attaching it to the fabric in a relaxed state, it has no reason to shirr anything.

I think if you add more elastic thread on each row it would gather more, on my personal opinion it did not gather as much because you had way to much space between each row, probably adding one row between each you already had could have helped! Just a side note ☺️
Agreed! I think I was just over sewing shirring lines and just wanted a simple solution at the time hahah. I’ve also found after its first wash it really gathered up more ☺️
