You all need to watch his video on thriving as an introvert. 😁 This is not the way we all should live, idyllic as it is for him. People are wired differently, and some people would be bored out of their tree living this way 🤯

I follow a couple homesteaders in the States who are both couples. They work their tails off & put out excellent quality content. Each has been at it for 10 yrs & never post fluff but do post more frequently. Always educational & useful info from them but I suppose more hands make light the work. That said, I love Daniel’s vlogs & that he doesn’t fill them w/fluff. There are a lot of good ppl on YT & I’m grateful for their content whenever they’re able to post. It’s nice to join their journeys.🌀

You have bulked out a bit and look supremely healthy and relaxed now. Your knowledge is now enough to keep you going independently with just casual help from volunteers as you spread your wings further in the use of the landscape. Best of all you are in tune with nature and adding to it rather than the 'civilised' worlds destructive practices. Well done and all the best.

The way to move pigs is not with a leash, just train them to follow you when you shake a bucket of food! The sound of shaking the bucket quickly becomes associated with food, and then they will follow you wherever you want them to go. :)

Getting rid of any lower damaged leaves on your brassicas will also help keep the slug damage down, mint, sage and thyme are also good at repelling some pests. Another little tip is companion planting carrots and onions as the onions will repel carrot fly. Homesteads looking amazing mate, all the best. 👍

Your farming techniques remind me of the ways my grandfather utilized the land here in southern Vermont. He grew up in Ukraine, very poor but very skilled at growing things. He emigrated to this country in 1915 at age 20 and really enjoyed his farming activities. He kept bees, fruit trees, chickens, pigeons and grew wonderful vegetables. Your enchantment with your environment reminds me so much of him. I also want to comment very positively on your narrative skills. Your voice is perfect for your topics and takes me back to time I spent with my grandfather when I was a child growing up in the 50's. Keep up the good works! You are an inspiration. Steve S.

Pigs are easily trained by getting into a routine of moving them. But first put their shelter on sleds, so it slides along the ground, prepare new area. You can use winches/anchor to pull the shelter from one area to another. Train the pigs using food and to keep them at the desired location while moving shelter and other stuff. The pigs are very smart to be trained.

Well, that was BEAUTIFUL! WHAT 'ABUNDANCE' you enjoy, on soOOoo many levels. The guest cabin is GORGEOUS! The heavy pig shed, might be a bit easier to move if you attach two eye hooks on both sides of the shed in order to place moving straps or rope. It would stabilize the move and make the load easier to manage. The slugs, I have seen a woman place her slug-prone veggies in raised beds, in order to string copper wire on the edges and then the slugs were no longer a problem. Thanks for sharing your wonderful homestead with us. Health and God Bless you n' yours!

I love the flower forest🥳👍🏽...my tiny garden is rammed full of all kinds of flowers n herbs to draw in the beneficial insects....I plant veg randomly inbetween. It's like a veritable orchestra re buzzing n humming. I love it. Folk tell me its untidy🥴. I absolutely love how far the farm has come on and the tiny house looks beautiful..the tree carved in the front rafter!!💖👏 Fabulous. xxx

Hello my friend, I haven't stopped in for a long time and I can see you have done a magnificent job of creating a hobby farm paradise. I have a niece who moved to Nova Scotia with her husband and 4 children and within a year after their first home purchased another in which enabled them to farm. They have goats, pigs, rabbits, ducks and soon to have a horse or two. She gardens and has a home based business, this lifestyle that keeps the family happy, busy and enjoying adventure after adventure. I am so pleased with what you have accomplished so far. Wishing you the best of luck in all your adventures in an Irish paradise. Take care.

wow, your land is so beautiful! I love hearing all of the info about planting and how to raise the animals. I grew up on a farm and learned a lot and then later majored in biological sciences and education and it's fascinating what we learn! I hope your harvest has been great!

Hey Dan, nice to see a new video. I know the drain of editing, I'm behind on my stuff too! I'm building first before I do the planting. Great to have your videos for reference 👍

Thank you for letting me live vicariously through your adventures. I've been pursuing so many of these habits my life long, but at 55, I'm beginning to cool off. It is so fun seeing your path and successes. Please don't stop sharing what you endeavor to create. I am living through this!

55 is way too young to start cooling off. Many people are only revving up at 55.

Create a temporary race to move your pigs along. This is a moveable or easily dismantled fence or tunnel and entice the pig with its favourite food. As the pig moves into the race block off the entrance and entice forward. Then as the pig moves bring the back section of the tunnel/race forward and remember to keep bringing the entrance block forward as well. No lifting of pig, no stress etc.

Daniel, I was just thinking about you and how Mossy Bottom was getting on just the other day. Delighted to see a new video notification. Can't wait for the upcoming vids on polly and the cabin... Also your stone cottage! Everything looks fantastic, what an amazing job you do. Still saving up my pennies but hoping to buy some property in the next year to get my smallholding dream on the go. All the best and take care x

You use the sunflower seeds for bread making. We need a video on how you shuck the seeds and how to use them for bread! Pig house suggestion: put a set of ski shaped runners on the bottom so you can drag it.

Slugs: Mix of half water, 3/8 milk and 1/8 vinegar. Spray lightly and often (daily at the beginning when they seedlings are small) and spray around borders. Cheap, natural and effective.

Wonderful to see you are doing SO well! I really like your video style and your style of posting - less frequent and therefore larger updates. It's very comforting to see your life is really able to continue along its path unaffected by all this stress and difficulty out here (I live in the US). Wow, you've really accomplished a lot. After this you just start reaping more and more from these systems you've gotten in place. I live in sunny Tucson, Arizona, and it's been a really wretched summer. We had seriously only 2 rains, when this is supposed to be our rainy season. It made me basically have far more pest pressure and I lost many crops and felt very disheartened. Well, I took a break and now I've just put in 60 winter greens starts I grew from seed so it's very much looking forward to the next chapter and hoping for a lovely winter growing season here. Congrats and I look forward to seeing more!

So glad I’ve discovered your channel......lovely to see someone calm & knowledgeable, without being a ‘ presenter’. I’m down to only one chicken now, but she’s very happy on her own. What a fantastic place you have 👌 I’m now about to binge watch the rest of your vids 😍
