Jesus these people confuse me, how are they mad at elden ring winning? These people get mad for almost no reason at any game, elden ring is one of the best games we EVER get ( same with GOW Ragnarok) and these people... Are mad by that? My mind is dying from these things
Yes elden ring is a fantastic game & god of war ragnarok is a good game but sadly it's not as good for the simple fact that like most current western games it holds your hand Way to much
It only won because the only other competition was god of war. Elden ring is a mid game that shines because there weren’t any other good, new options. As a game it’s just boring, ugly and not worthy of a GOTY award
@@simpledanman It's been nearly a year already since Elden Ring came out, and people are STILL talking about it. Even before the GA. Most "Mid" games, like Horizon and Stray, usually get forgotten after a few months.
Yeah I'm not a fan of difficult games or the soulslike games in general as I have played the souls games befoer but I must admit all the saltiness is tempting me to pick the game up. I doubt I will but I may consider it if it goes on sale. I'm not looking to get it atm though.
@@sjsharp2007 he trashed God of war. Idk why this fool said he was a sony fan lool. In fact the guy is a die hard Fromsoft fanboy lool He hyped up the game years in advance
As far as the "popularity contest" argument is concerned, TLOU2 was NOT a popular game, and cemented the Game Awards as a complete joke. It's useful for pony salt and ads for upcoming titles, but I'm not taking cues from TGA for quality.
My read on TLOU2 is different than yours. It definitely wasn’t straight up hated like you say (from what I could tell anyway). It was extremely mixed and both sides were very passionate about their reasons for loving or hating the game.
Why do people get so upset of GOTY? 😂😂 In the grand scheme of things it's a stupid award that means virtually nothing. These people like humanity's survival is on the line with GOTY.
I believe Elden Ring is the easiest souls game but not because it's bad but because it's so refined that most options win and are viable. Yes Demon Souls is probably easier but going through it in new game plus, it was wayyyyyyyy harder and there isn't many options to make it easier besides glitches. But it's also easier because that's to cycle of fromsoft players. It's often said that your first Souls game is your hardest and I stand by that. (Elden Ring is also the easiest soulsborne game to platinum, fight me on that one)
Really loved Elden Ring this year. It was a wonderful challenge with a good story that relies on you to put the pieces together. It was easily my Game of the Year, so no idea what this clown is on about. Looking forward to next year and seeing what games come out, as well as hoping the Microsoft games turn out good, and see some new stuff on Game Pass.
Honestly for me I love being able to choose how involved with the story I am, I make a dumb barbarian whose just there to smash things or do I make a sophisticated knight who looks into the troubles of the land
People keep forgetting.. Taste is subjective. Just like art, fashion, movies, etc. Your taste and my taste will be totally different because of life experience and genetics.
I was thinking that you claiming this dude was having a "Mental Breakdown" was a bit of joking-around hyperbole, right up until the dude claimed "There would be no Fromsoftware without ME!" i actually went What The Fuck out loud at that part, it was so bizarre.
He calls people who haven’t played other fromsoft games clowns and frauds and yet demands to see their achievements? Has he beaten all fromsoft games with no armor and not getting hit once? I haven’t myself but I know people who have
5:30 there’s the issue of games being watered down for the masses losing what made them successful but elden ring is still soulsbourne just in a open world format
Oh boy, the more I hear this guy, the more I'm glad I jumped ship from the consoles. The community there and company are a bit over the top at times to make me question humanity. In this guy's case, I'd say he has a very strange narcissistic attitude. Maybe I'm thinking of another word? Just a really odd take on how to talk to people and talk about one's self.
bro wtf is that 180 bro literally has a vid on his channel from march 16th, 22 called "if you don't like Elden ring, you're a idiot" and I'm pretty sure he said the game is a masterpiece too
I have been down with PlayStation since ps1 but I think modern PlayStation games have a major problem with all being the same a over the top shoulder 3rd person cutscene and walking simulator with cutscenes every 5 to 10 minutes. I don’t hate these games but wish they had more variety when it came to their 1st party titles.
Hey I'm in the same boat that you are I started with elder ring also and I love this game I just don't consider no game to be the best and I don't think there's anything wrong with that but I really like this game
Also can I just say that this notion of 'games are good because of quality not because of popularity' I'm sorry. Name me a single game which was by all intents and purposes 'popular' which was also a shit quality game. Call of Duty? Ever play it? High octane action from start to finish. Outside of some memey moments in some of their single player campaigns (press F to pay respects) the vast majority of the gameplay is INCREDIBLY polished chiefly because they've been making them for decades. Like...I know that 'just because everyone says a thing doesn't make it true', but I'm a firm believer that games which are popular, are generally popular, because they are good. Shit quality games, don't tend to be popular.
I like elden and I liked GOWR and I can say I want a expansion map for ER but I’m also hype for a NG+ for GOWR but Ngl I didn’t like any of the bosses in ER and Story is ight too plus I didn’t like ER difficult like it felt WAY to easy like cuz this my first one and after I played hella fromsoftware game and sekrio has officially been on my top 5 and I like bloodborne but basically what I’m saying is that idk I had more fun in the other soul like games but whatever.
Isn't this the same guy who said the only people who enjoy Elden Ring are people who have no life, no family, no friends, because of how hard the game is, and that dying to the same boss over and over wasn't his idea of fun?
Oh how we forget that fromsofts hardest game to date won game of the year in 2019 with sekiro and that year that entire show was dedicated to licking the Sony pole as well with death stranding having 10 nominations
From software made Bloodborne and demons souls which are Sony exclusive though, I bet u hated those games before and now pretend to like them now because it's the "cool" thing. 🤭
So, according to this loser, I'm qualified to say elden ring is a masterpiece. Since I've played every From Software game they've ever put out, outside of demon souls.
I finished elden ring 3 times to get all achievements and its a good game but i think its overhyped, its not really all that special its just another souls game but open world. Just my opinion though
As much as I'd love to see gow ragnarok win, Elden Ring definitely deserved the award and probably hope to see gow itself get an award next year? Who knows.
I played Demon's Souls as my first Souls game on PS3, and I say Elden Ring is the best one in the series. Now what will he say as the excuse? Recency bias? But wait GoW Ragnarok is more recent lol. I think he's running out of excuses.
Souls games=Casuals now holy shit wtf lol. The only Souls games that were hard were Bloodborne and Sekiro. The rest can be cheesed or have a built in easy mode like Royalty Class or Drake Sword, or just summoned other players to help you.
As someone that has played old playstation 1 games by Fromsoft such as Armored Core and King's Field I should be qualified enough to call the person complaining about Elden Ring a jackass.
And I played Tenchu, I even remember the f commercial for that game, I'll bet that guy doesnt even know what Tenchu is. Does that mean I'm super hard core and am the reason from software exists and no one else's experiences matter just because I played one of their first games. That guy is insecure as f, some people overcompensate big time when they're insecure and that's quite clearly whats going on with him. It's clear as day
I seen this guy a few times, I honestly don't know if he is a troll or actully thinks what he says is the truth. honestly with how insane people tend to be on the internet i would probally say this guy fully thinks he is in the right no matter what. at least the video was a bit funny so there is that
@HALEfireYT I mean, troll or not, a lot of mouthbreathing basement dwellers actually have these kinds of backwards opinions and it should be addressed.
As a player with 99 Str, 70 Vig, 55 End, and 33 Dex, with dual wield +25 guts greatswords, I can confirm that blasting through bosses is truly euphoric
@@beegdawg yes. And he shares EDP’s fondness for “cupcakes.” He literally talks about it on his streams. That’s why he deletes them immediately after he shuts it down.
As someone who has been playing since the original Demon’s Souls, I thought Elden Ring was the hardest with regard to bosses. But this is from the perspective of someone who has to do the first play through completely solo (no summons, spirits) with a melee build. Some of the bosses took me as long or longer to “learn” than Sekiro’s toughest bosses.
No other souls game has builds that break the game like Elden ring had or spirit ash summons that spank bosses for u and also the way u can grind and level up in Elden ring make it by far the easiest souls game in the genre.
@@bryankowalczyk3982 sure it can be that easy if you go out of your way to grind and level and research the most broken builds. On a base level, the enemies and bosses in Elden Ring have way more complex movesets to learn than other souls games. But if you use spirits, you can basically beat them without really learning them completely. If your goal is to solo everything with the same level of mastery as the other games though, it’s much harder. No other souls games have attacks as difficult to dodge as stuff like waterfowl dance or elden stars. Even basic enemies like runebears and revenants are harder than some bosses in the other games. And these tough enemies are really densely packed into some areas, like Consecrated Snowfields and Elphael. They’re about as bullshit or even more so than some of the DLC areas in other games, and we’re just looking at the base game. Imagine the difficulty of DLC zones and bosses for Elden Ring.
We did used to get publicly shamed for playing computer games. However it's good that it is like it is now than it was when I grew up. No one should be hurt for a hobbie unless it's a contact sport.
Elden rings' difficulty is completely based on play style. Close range melee is hardest while magic and spells make it easier. How easy is it to Comet Azur a boss versus swinging at them for 5 mins.
There’s two main builds: melee and magic. Magic means you’ll have less health but attacks have range and you can usually land more of them. Melee builds center around lots of health and strength and powerful close range, but you need to get better at dodging than you would with magic. Ultimately it’s up to you, either is good, but in my opinion melee is more fun
Isn't it a good thing more people are gaming? Developers and Publishers are making more money and people get to enjoy games they paid for. Its a win-win
If it's your first souls game it will be hard because u won't understand the fundamentals but if u played all souls games prior to Elden ring, then it is the easiest by a mile.
Xbox fanboy did the same too they mocking god of war ragnarok and saying it suck so it’s a tie bruh kids im glad I don’t give a f about these stupid war anymore
The next souls game should have 2 different editions a regular one that from software intended and a goo goo Gaga crybaby edition from software will make a killing and you can't upload your save file from the easy mode edition to the regular edition
He's just mad because he can't claim he's cool and edgy now. Once Elden Ring went mainstream, it wasn't "cool" anymore. He doesn't think it's a bad game, he doesn't like that it's a popular game and now it's nullified his "street cred" as a totally niche and awesome gamer.
"Let's be honest there would be no From Soft without me." Ok I need to know exactly who this guy is because that is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Unless this guy has like 10 million youtube subs and we can scientifically trace the sales of Dark Souls 1 to him making a video about it and the sales skyrocketed from pitiful to overwhelming he's either delusional or a parody.
Elden Ring released, "This game is hard! It should be more accessable!" Elden Ring wins GOTY, "Waaaah, it should be less accessable! It's so popular it won!" Dude, GoW:R have whatever assist mode that I didn't realize and perplexed that it even existed.
Started with the original Dark Souls, played the most out of ds3 but Elden Ring is the game I'm going to play the most out of simply because that world is amazing
My first From software games were "Kuon" and "Echo Night Beyond", but my first "souls" was Sekiro. Since then I've played them all multiple times, except BB (and DS remake, but I did play the old one). I've spent almost 800hrs on Elden... and each time I see someone playing or as a background in a video, I feel tempted to go back to it. Cheers!
It’s funny he says gamer with no thumbs. I’ve seen people with no thumbs absolutely destroy some games. Also people who’ve played games with their FEET MY GUY LIKE WHAT?
I guess all 16 year olds who now play Elden Ring as their first souls game are not allowed to play it because they weren't around when the other games came out.
He's way of think is basically: "I think you have bad taste, so because of that, you shouldn't play video games at all, just because your taste is different then mine"
Beaten every souls game and Elden ring is not the easiest it’s about in the middle demon souls iv heard is the easiest so to correct my self I haven’t played the remake I can’t really remember how hard that one was
To me there were a lot of fun games this yearr. Elden ring definitely deserves game of the year and definitely deserves game of the year and is number 1 on my top 10 of this year.
I honestly believe horizon was forgotten because of Elden ring cause it launched 2 weeks before Elden ring and I was legit guilty of that I started horizon and stopped to play Elden ring and couldn’t get back into it cause I stopped halfway through but I am actually trying to play horizon from the beginning now that I have no other games to play just to see what the real issue was wether it was the game or wether it was Elden ring that just over shadowed everything
Lol elden ring is bad because it brought a new wave of players to the genre snd created ways for people of all skill levels to find a way to win. Also elden ring is easy and shouldn't have won. But God of war was a movie and shouldn't have one. So I'll bitch but not offer who should've won. Great take lol
So towards the end of the video, the complainer decides to sum up the logic of why Elden ring shouldn't have one Game of the Year by stating that all the other games this year were inferior and Alvin ring was the best out of all of them?? If there was a better game than that game would have won. Somehow this is the logic that he uses to say that Eldon ring shouldn't have one game of the year? He literally admitted that Alden ring was the best game this year? So wouldn't that mean it should win game of the year. So his actual complaint is that he wants better games, not that Alden ring wasn't the best this year. Now to that end I might agree with him but that would be great if there was a plethora of games better than the mediocre status quo
It's all a work he's just a troll who likes to trash games to piss the fans off his other video before this one he was trashing God of War Ragnarok calling it God of Bore Trashnarok and said it got Bodied by a real man's game Elden Ring
Critics: There’s no difficulty settings. From Software: Fine! Difficulty: *Hard* (the traditional difficult like other Soul games) *Harder* (You only have 1HP) *Nightmare* (You have negative stats, and you level backwards the further you go) *Impossible* (Every enemy and bosses home in on you and won't let you even take the first step.) From Software: Well, you got what you wanted. Be careful what you wish for.
da salt is real here either they couldn't beat da tutorial boss or got their ass handed to them so hard by margit. my sympathies to those who got rektd 8 ways to sunday by margit. we all been there, no matter the soulsborne experience. also, dis dude exhibiting sum maidenless behavior here.
Elden Ring is game of the year hands down. Something ironic about saying Elden Ring hands out W's when its top competition was a much easier story driven experience
Speaking of encountering certain bosses multiple times I found it quite interesting that I encountered Market in the late game plateau, acting all big and bad trying to talk down to me from a far off, then me rolling up to him and smacking him reminding him why he got smacked in the first place
I think that margit was the only boss that his repetition was necessary, he is clearly meant to be some sort of rival to you, so of course you fight him more than once Edit: also he is a very great gatekeeper of the stormveil castle
@@felipeguedescampos851 To add to this, most the repeated bosses are just commonplace monsters and knights from specific organizations; the kinds of things that would absolutely exist in any sort of fantasy world. Bosses like Marget, Mohg, Renala, and Radagon, are actual characters with proper histories and personalities, so of course they would stand out from the Magma Wyrms, the Misbegotten, the Crucible Knights, and Godskins.
Dude I love that feeling of being OP. My first character ended up being a level 300 monster by NG+2 and I'm one shotting bosses with the Dark Moon Greatsword, lol. Currently trying to do a Vergil build, DEX/INT with Moonveil and eventually Hand of Malenia! And I'm LOVING all this Pony Salt, lmao.
Why do I have to beat all the other Fromsoft games to know whether or not Elden /ring is a good game? I beat super mario world after I had gotten to the center of the star world and done the secret levels. Does that count as accolades? Fuck sakes. I've been playing games longer then he's probably been alive. surely that gives me more of an ability to tell a good game from a bad one.
The thing is, this man is a troll, but we dunno if he is. Cause, he gets pissy if u call him a troll or anything and he will ban u from his stream chat. Plus, he begs for money or wants people to donate. Im suprised this guy hasnt been banned or gotten a strike
Played / finished all FromSoft games and plat a couple of them, and ER is NOT EASY. It's different, Demons souls is the easiest in terms of difficulty. ER asks you to think to make things easier. Which is a skillset that a lot of people are lacking. I personally think this is a monumental achievement that FS reached here and definitely their best offering. But it's not my favorite, the size of the world (though incredible) kind of burned me. Still looking to plat this one though
If you tried to help some players to beat a difficult boss, you know that a lot of people lack intelligence, the amount of people who were trying to beat radhan with less than 900 hp was incredible
As much as I thing GOWR should have won, I cannot deny Elden Ring definitely deserved it based on what I have seen, since my brother absolutely loves that game. Elden Ring is a work of art.
Agreed. I loved playing God of War Ragnarok and even got the platinum trophy for it. But Elden Ring winning was well deserved since it was also an amazing game.
