I mean I have seen female protagonist animes but they were all boring cuz of no reason at all the girl somehow gets too strong but this one takes a different perspective of trying to make the girl somewhat strong but mostly wise and allow her to experience what I like to call love with someone

@@larsthememelord3383True. Not wanting to be beheaded is not selfish. However, it being the reason why she does a good thing is selfish. The many good(not all) things she does that don't affect her fate also have similar self-centered reasoning behind it.

Well, she DID change for the better, and there's evidence for it. For instance, the whole reason she keeps the red-haired girl as her handmaid is out of gratitude for her loyalty. It's small but it's there, and I suspect a good chunk of the "avoiding being beheaded" reasoning is for comedy. That's as far as I can tell, anyway.

@@Mia-ln1zs She has the mindset of Enlightened Selfishness. What's good for her can be good for others. And ultimately other people's happiness can make her happy. The idea of Greed being Good only works with this principle. But she's also not so much a narcisist that she hates her Father's doting on her to the extereme.

I'm actually impressed by this as it's, phycologically speaking, logical. It would be nice if she changes but that's pretty dull and boring. Not everyone will change after they go through something, be it life or death situations, trauma or a life of torment and despair. The terrible ones especially don't change, at least not completely. You're bound to be the same one way or another, if even for a little bit. Also, there are similar stories that follow the same plot but makes them turn actually good (never heard them first hand, only from friends).
