An interview with Fernando Santos Martín from the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC, Spain), discussing SELINA DP01: Spanish National Strategy for Green Infrastructure and Ecosystem Restoration.
SELINA Demonstration Projects (DP) are real-world innovative examples of how knowledge on biodiversity (BD), ecosystems and ecosystem services (ES) can inform and support evidence-based decision-making processes (from projects to plans and policies) in both public and private domains. These applications extend across various sectors, including urban and regional development, agriculture, energy, marine spatial planning, forest and nature conservation, green infrastructures and ecosystem restoration.
Within SELINA, we engage a total of 15 DPs, categorised into three groups - public, private, and hybrid public/private DPs. These DPs are further organised into four clusters: i) Agriculture and water; ii) Forestry and finance; iii) Coastal and marine; and iv) Spatial planning.
