Whoa this is crazy... I was in contact with Reed (of We Are the Union) like 10 years ago about playing sax with you guys for a few shows around the midwest. I even sent them an audition tape! Well, gig didn't work out but it's crazy that maybe I could have played a few shows with you! And you're a way better musician than me so now I just think maybe I wasn't good enough hahaaa
I miss these days. Ska used to be huge here in Winnipeg (so many bands, monthly shows and big name bands always passing through). Thanks for having your channel and re-igniting my love for Ska. Plus it’s awesome you got to have this opportunity
You know back then during the recording of the song, there were two trombone players on the original recording from “Turn The Radio Off” album. This performance feels like a throwback to ‘97!
Damn, RBF is one of my favorite bands. I had a dream like this once, playing on stage with them from the brass section. Thanks for living out my dream, Ska Tune Network. Somebody had to do it
I was in high school with Matt (Saxl Rose - reel big fish). I remember him being a fan of RBF back then, now he plays for them. Two guys on the same stage here playing pro with their high school fave bands. Cosmic.
I was in undergrad from 2004-2008 and holy CRAP ska was big I was in music school for trombone and piano and my friends and I were seriously at ska shows almost every weekend here in Philadelphia. I haven't been to a show in YEARS. You keep my dreams alive dude.
This song. This was my introduction to Reel Big Fish which led to everything. Christmas Day, Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia, 1996. This film clip and I was just like, "what is this? This is amazing!" You've helped keep a genre alive for the next generation of fans. Great work Jeremy.
Some of my old classmates had a ska band. One of their best tunes was called Ska Is Dead. Too bad they only recorded one album. But yeah, ska needs to come back.
Only recently have I gotten into ska, and it's literally all my favorite parts of some of my favorite songs. It's so catchy and I just find myself dancing in public if I'm listening to it. You truly lived the dream brother🤘
Dude, that was so awesome! It’s kinda strange that I don’t know you personally yet I feel so happy for you seeing you play. Your joy playing brings me smiles
I'm a month and some change late seeing this video. But if this was the albany show, I was in that crowd and it was one of the best nights of my life. So thanks dude.
Thanks to your channel I've been on a ska kick lately. I was listening to Reel Big Fish at work today. Now I come home and see this recommended. That must have been such a thrill!
Was this the Grand Rapids concert? This feels very familiar to me, and I was at the GR one, but I never saw myself in the audience in this video. Also, I'm sure they played Sell Out at every concert in that tour, and probably all of their concerts after the song was released, lol.
I remember seeing real big fish in the 90s in New Orleans. Right before they got "big". There was me and 8 other people . That's it.. The nicest guys you could ever meet
Dude. That's awesome. My ska band Short Handed Goal got to open up for them when they came to Providence RI a few years back, but I wish I could have gotten to actually share the stage with them. Rock on my dude.
