If you've ever seen a let's game it out video, that guy has proven time and time again that gambling in these types of games is more lucrative than anything the game tells you that you should be doing.
Between this and bakso, there seems to be a trend of Julia running a small business with more physical violence than you'd expect, followed by a loss of all their profits due to Jacob's pro-gambler advice 😂
idk why but jacob’s song scratches every itch in my brain. from the midwest emo title and riffs to the cozy lofi vibes. i wouldn’t be surprised to find it in the ost of a game like life is strange. everything about it is truly perfection.
@@leopoldbloom4296 I'm assuming your talking about the band, right? Bc when I looked Mogwai up the first thing that popped up was a gremlin from the movie Gremlins 😅
@@SammyBoy2001 And that gremlin makes some incredibly intense and heartfelt mostly instrumental tunes, m8 (just kidding, amazing Scottish band, pioneer of second-wave post-rock and one of the four, maybe five most notable bands of that particular substyle)
Jacob’s music makes me think of Kentucky Route Zero, long roadtrips, diners in the middle of nowhere, old photos from childhood, stars in the sky, and comfortable silence. Very powerful stuff, I hope he continues to make music. 💕
35:12 it does feel contradictory when an animal seems to be inviting attention and then gets mad when you give it, but I think it's just difference in communication, expectations, comfort, and intention. An animal coming to be near you, rubbing against you, etc. does not always mean they want you to do anything with them. It's like if you sat down next to someone and started a conversation and they suddenly reached out to hold your hand, or you go to hug someone and they kiss you--that's an escalation in interaction beyond what you wanted and are comfortable with. Some animals just have different ways of interacting and communicating and different comfort levels. This doesn't make them jerks or anything, any more than someone who is not a hugger is. Just with people, animals can give and retract their consent to an action/interaction/situation at any time. I've had to learn a LOT with my dog. I think he previously lived in an environment where his boundaries were crossed a lot and he learned he had to protect his space and stuff. He has issues with space and doesn't trust people to leave him alone when he's resting so he'll vocalize a warning "don't bother me, don't bother me, please don't bother me." Some times he'll realize nothing will happen and will settle. Other times, he can't relax so I put him in his crate with the cover closed so he has privacy and security for his nap. He's even learned to ask for me to put him in (he won't go in himself). I've learned than him coming up and curling up next to me is NOT an invitation to touch him or give him attention. He just wants to be near me, and that's it. He'll tell me if he wants more than that. People regularly make their animals uncomfortable without realizing it. I've seen viral videos of people doing something to their dog and being completely oblivious to the body language that is showing stress, nervousness, discomfort, or appeasement (which dogs will do to show they're not a threat and would like for the person to stop what they're doing). I find it very upsetting to see. Not a criticism about what J&J said, just explaining what I think when I hear this. Hope it makes sense, I'm having bad brain fog.
Beautiful intro song Jacob!! You're getting really good, this one really made me feel things, I hope it gets released on Spotify soon!!! Also Julia's hair???? It looks so good on her omg?? When my friend asked me why I like watching let's plays and such, I told her I just see you as entertainers and the backdrop happens to be video games. I come for the people, not the games.
This is honestly such a good way to describe it. Just because I love a game doesn't mean I'll watch anyone play it, but if I love a streamer then I'll probably watch anything they play
@@annikan42 Yup. Really the only reason why I won't watch a VoD is because they're playing a game that I want to but haven't yet. Chants of Sennaar is a great example. But whenever I get around to playing it, I'll go back and watch the VoDs of them playing it.
Timing of this episode was perfect. I was able to listen to Jacob jamming while I cooked food, eat my food during the chatting, and then start watching the game as soon as I finished eating. Magic!
normally i’m not a big fan of music without lyrics unless it’s for background noise. this song almost made me cry. i’m graduating soon and it somehow is exactly how i’m feeling
Jacob's dope ass music is like a cup of hot Joseph for my adhd brain. All the tracks so far have immediately calmed me down and simultaneously given me a boost of focus. I perceive such a good balance of interest and relaxation somehow and it just is lovely. Also as always, 10/10 twitch vod and thank you Khaz!
Have y'all played Hypnospace Outlaw? It seems up your alley. You're basically a moderator on a fictional 1999 internet service so the whole game is going through early internet aesthetic pages looking for violations. It's very charming.
Jacob, this song is an absolute fucking vibe! This is exactly the shit I look for and want more of. Julia, looking cute af with short hair. It’s so perfectly “her” in ways I could never imagine. Loved her long hair but this is just so… Julia. Perfectly. Damn these are some cool af people who share their work with us. Wtf.
This is an extremely dumb link but have Jacob or Julia ever played "Turnip boy commits tax evasion" on stream? I ask purely because that game also uses "Okey" instead of OK. I think it would be really their jam if they've not heard of it. Plus it's about 2 hours long so a great one-off stream length
33:35 Jacob's way of describing things really gets me sometimes. I love it Update: I don't gamble but I'd happily go to a casino with Jacob it seems like a fun and possibly devastating time
This intro song feels like reminiscing how, during a warm summers day, you sat on the bus, the sun light scattered through the canopy of the trees, hitting your sunglasses - memories of your friends on the beach, salt in your hair, and melting icecream on your wrists, a beer at sundown, and stealing a kiss of your friend you have a crush on. They also tasted of salt, ice cream, beer, and butterflies.
I would explain it in a couple of ways; It's like watching reality television but with likable people and more interaction, or listening and occasionally responding to some pleasant conversation while you do chores. It can also be for people that like the vibe of a game but do not have the manual dexterity, emotional bandwidth, money, or the fortitude (with horror games) to play themselves. Sometimes it can be nice for some low stakes interaction too. Also, as an aside for Jacob saying that unlike reality, people only wanted to pay premium prices for the same products, some people bought the white t-shirts by Kanye at one point, so...
Jacob's story about the soup lalafel reminds me of the time (during the holiday event, I think?) that a lalafel ran up to me, stopped to look my character over, traded me an egg, and then ran away without saying a word. It was truly magical.
Jacob's music makes me feel like it's the golden hours during the end of summer and I'm driving with the window down a little bit on an empty road. It smells like someone's having a barbecue nearby, and you're at total peace. Like a warm and contented purgatory.
so far all of jacob's songs sound like a big breezy field right around sunset. idk how else to describe it because it feels exactly like that. so free and airy, so emotional and beautiful, yet calm and serene all at once. i actually refuse to believe he's still a beginner at this because these are straight bangers one after another
also regarding the youtube adblock talk at 32:30 ish, my youtube has been acting all janky and weird for the last like two weeks ESPECIALLY with the de-syncing audio but i've literally never had adblock on so that can't be it for me. i legit think youtube is just like "yea whatever ur all gonna keep using the platform so who cares"
Can't believe they had a MY SONS relevant moment when I missed a stream! That is my favorite emote, apart from the cats, because of how hilarious that struggle was. MY SONS
I thought Julia's hair was tied back at first ngl, but I think it looks great!!! Also Jacob is here to bully people into loving themselves, love that about him, lol.
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood had about a month of some of the most exhilarating multiplayer I've ever experienced. The feeling of slowly stalking your prey all the while knowing that anyone in the crowd you're wading through could be hunting you is something I'll never forget. Then people figured out you can get more points by running as fast as you can and not making any attempt to be stealthy. Later games tried to correct this, but none of them were able to fully eliminate it to bring back that original thrill.
This was a super fun stream jacob and julia! But i would love to see a gambling trigger warning, it's a really big trigger for a lot of people who have dealt with addiction issues with gambling, which is more common than you'd expect in video game circles
jacob being a streamer who doesnt care about emotes is the mirror realm to my not being a streamer and yet having probably over 20 emotes of my fursona by now and i just cant stop making more, and i have genuinely considered taking up streaming to be able to use them on twitch instead of just discord/mastodon
old people tend to understand it better if you explain that it's like watching someone play a sport. like yeah i COULD go get tackled by a two hundred and ten pound man in body armor, but i could also let somebody ELSE get tackled and watch that. and the person playing is both the athlete and the commentator
