My parents every Friday after they got off work, they would get all the scrap they have in the yard because my dad loves to do mechanic stuff so we had so much of it so take down there for some extra money
I'm doing a big house renovation atm. I just brought short of 1/2 tonne of mixed iron/steel to my local yard they pay £160/tonne, I was paid £70. To be honest it was not worth my time and the expense of a 40min round trip to the yard and the risk of getting a puncture in the loading bay. I'll bring the copper and lead but in future iron and steel will be left out front for the scrapies.
I heasr you, but most of my stuff is domestic appliances and they have load of copper in them, but if you are going to the scrap yard anyway better to go for an extra £70
@@madeingreatbritainchannel £5.64 for new copper tube & £5.74 for dry bright. The start of the year places were paying £6-7 for new & bright copper. crazy prices
A waste carrier license is also recommended if you use a company vehicle to transport waste in the UK. Inexpensive & quickly avoids any problems that might risk a fine.
Of course there is money in scrap look at pm wife her father owned dozens of scrap yards. He gave his daughter about 20 of them. They are billionaires.
