Man, your videos have come a long way from just a few years ago! Super happy with your progress and how you have evolved with your surroundings! Ronin 4D with the 8k gimbal on it looks like an endgame camera for a lot of people, they just don't know it yet.
I have an A cam being the A7siii and I recently purchased the fx30 as a Bcam and also realized that this camera is more than enough. Good lighting and Color Grading with FX30 is amazing Image quality. I also do lots of Interviews and these cameras are perfect for that.
i use both my A7SIII and my FX30 if everything is well lit you can do great things with the fx30 but boy the noise level sometimes is insane especially in the red channel
bro, yes we have more than enough! I love that statement and thats how I feel 3 years into business. I started filming weddings and I ended up with 5 lumix cameras. Today, I mainly shoot on 1 camera and occasionally I need a second body for interviews. I donated a camera to church to upgrade the photos and I 'll keep 3 bodies. Eva1 for my main, s1h for my b cam and gh6 for hybrid shooting. God has been good and I need to let go of things for sure lol
@@ChrisFranklinJr bro thank you and I hope to see you keep crushing it! I’ve been watching since 2021 and I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished in a short amount of time. Keep breaking through those glass ceilings man!
The Ronin 4D looks like such a beast. But I agree, I have gear pity when I see any of my equipment being neglected. I wanna use these babies up till they can't!
I'm glad the FX30 is staying in your kit. I love mine. I rented another FX30 as a second cam for interviews and love the footage. My clients are also raving about the image quality.
My Guess at a new camera would be a S5iiX or a Fuji XH2s (I am selling my fx3 as well) Love the camera but i have a c70 that i love a bit more and just need something for socials and travel. That 6k open gate is hard to pass up!
Robin 4 D going for starting rate , 10,699 dollars plus . American pure dollars !! So you must be in some kind of high end job gigs to be getting that . Congrats !! It’s my dream camera though . For now , am trying to upgrade from my Sony ZV - E10 to maybe … do I even know ?
You going to try the new black full frame BM cinema camera? Open gate, full frame, vertical aspect ratios. Only draw back is they are now L mount. Thoughts?
If you are looking for an A-camera to replace a FX3, it may be a Canon C70 or a Red Komodo. I don't think a others would be an upgrade, because your camera was already top. Cheers!
@ChrisFranklinJr Well, Sir, you have/had both of my dream/ultimate dream cameras! I'm planning on getting an FX3 this year, not sure when, when I get my grown up money, and when I get my further grown man money, the Ronin 4D!!! I totally understand why you would sell the FX3, for the Ronin 4D. But I really like the way you break down your gear, and your technical reviews are very thorough and insightful. Much success to you!!
My 6kpro rig got used exactly twice last year. Guess filmmaking isnt my thing😆. What I will say is built in ND's are non negotiable for me at this point if I film more.
Hey Franklin, The 4D is for sure an amazing camera, business wise is for sure a good moment to.get rid of one FX3,with Sony popping out 10 new cameras models per year. About GAS yeah it is a problem for a lot of people. Personally I bought most of my cameras in second hand market or in mega sale...and not the newest models...like P6K G1,S5 org etc...still needing one camera with decent AF probably S5iiX in 2024... I think maybe you purchase Blackmagic full frame or maybe the new A9iii ? Or are you up for the Sony Burano?maybe overkill but still advertised als one men band cameras and kind of expensive but for pro maybe a good option...
Great video. I needed this as I am guilty of always thinking that there is a better camera out there that will give me better results. I never have given thought to the Ronin 4d so I’ll check it out as my interest in video has surpassed the still side of imaging.
I bought the Sony A7siii instead of the Fx3 because I liked the viewfinder and kept hearing the images from both cameras were practically identical. But how did you learn the other parts of filmmaking - lighting, camera movement and placement, proper exposure. Did you attend film school or a similar program?
I learned ALOT from my photography background. I use to study cameras daily. But one of the best assets for learning is Full Time Filmmaker. They do a crazy good job at explaining filmmaking!
How do you find cutting and color matching the Ronin 4D and the FX3/30 together? We've had a similar camera journey, I also started with the BMPCC before moving to the Sigma FP, and ultimately an FX3 and A7IV as an A/B cam.
It’s actually not that bad when using the Log profiles on both! I remember watching a video from Peter Lindgren where he cut back and fourth between the FX3 & the 4D and the colors were almost identical!
@@ChrisFranklinJr I’ve been watching a while my brother. You’re one of the reasons I started on my film making journey: I dropped my first video a few days ago
This makes no sense to me. When you need low light out of both you are in trouble with the FX30. I don't see the logic. Having a matched pair adds value. You can do everything the FX30 can do and more with the FX3. It will also cost you money and time to sell the FX3. Strange. I own the FX3 and the A7R5 - not a perfect match, but very happy. Best of luck to you.
