Growing up in the house with an uncle who used to listen to this music, made me fall in love with the music and today I can't even divorce myself from playing the music and my peers think that I like acting like "Grootman". Abdullah Ibrahim, Oliver Mtukudzi, Jimmy Dludlu, Vusi Mahlasela, Jonas Gwanga etc.
Can you imagine they even call me groatman even thought m not at the stage to be called a groatman but jugding from what i listen to.they see me as their groutman😂😂

@@pc8679 It means Heavy rain is falling. It should rain so that the children can eat. SA tribes were mostly farmers who relied on the rain to soak the soil evenly, they used to pray and perform some traditional dances and rituals so that it could rain
All my young childhood memories are locked into this song. And i think besides Rre Galane being a talented m usician we find comfort in his music through the memories we built around this song. Things are so different now.
You know those Sunday afternoons when we had visitors and my late mom washing dishes after Sunday koos. Kids running around playing…I’m so emotional, made me miss my mom 💝
First time listening to this song on radio 2000 and after I just had to go on RU-vid and download it and wow I'm proud of such spiritual instrument and vocalist ❤❤❤❤
From the beautiful city of Doha, where the sea meets the desert, I cannot help it except to throw the South Africa's masterpiece in the mix to deal with harsh climatic conditions. Let it rain for all of us. Great music by Dr Galane!
My brother in law introduced to me this music 🎶 🎵 👌 I had an album and my cellphone was lost now, i can't find it anywhere. It had songs like " Ikhaya lethu, Tinhlalala, vadyondzekile, Pula and others.
I'm in tears I was driving to one monirng last year and it was just after a few days after saying Fer well to my loving father and this song just md my day as pain full as it was at that tym but the song just sounded so comforting to my ears
My father is a great pool ( snooker) player, so usually when they would have tournaments they would play this song when it was his turn to play and play it at a low volume. He would “whitewash” a lot of opponents. He doesn’t play tournaments anymore but still enjoys playing pool. I’ll surprise him with this song tomorrow ❤
Breaks my heart to think that This man's life's work will go unnoticed by the masses. Apart from this stream, all that remains of his digital work is CDs nobody remembers where they last put them, or CDs that are compromised and radio stations that rarely play his work. really breaks me knowing that I might never get the chance to gift such vital music to my very own children one day, as my father has done so for me. Free Kiba🙏🏾
I am sitting here in Prairie View, Texas listening to this on repeat. I got here by googling "South African jazz." I was searching for music by Jonathan Butler and Hugh Masekela. My search sent me to amazing artists and music. Please educate me. What is this song about?
It's a prayer for rain after a long drought, it's meaning varies some the rain would be seen as blessings in their lives after a longtime of misfortunes and to some it is happiness after a longtime of hardships, however Rain symbolises a break through.
My mom used to play me this song when I was still a young boy. It would rain with no thunderstorm and I would tell her to play it. Gone are those day❤️. Pure Jazz 🎺
