The Maximals are rumored to be aged warriors in ROTB So that explains the beast modes, semi faded colors, and more “primitive” weapons. I think it’s pretty cool that they gave us both a 90s cartoon accurate figure in the main line and they went for something more intimidating in the movie and SS line. I would repurpose the main line as a younger cheetor and the SS as his matured form like what the Transmetal 2 cheetor was
Apparently Cheetor doesn't have a voice actor credit in the film, so he could be a mysterious, Snake Eyes-type of warrior. Planning to get him and Airazor when I fly to Hong Kong next week.
The deluxe feels like season 1 Cheetor, while the voyager feels like season 2 Cheetor aka transmetal 1 Cheetor body built, but Beast Machines in terms of deco & weapons.
@@chefatron the color scheme is older cheetor. If the autobot was medieval then maximal was prehistoric but never returned to cybertron. Maybe as a tribute to a beast wars episode.
I do think your right about the shoulders ( a third party will come up with something to fix that) But I also think this "Matured" Cheetor appears to be something in-between his Beastwars Transmetal 1 & 2 forms.
Something just dawned on me: with all the Transformer collaborations going on, I wouldn't be surprised if they took Cheetor here, and made a Black Panther/Transformer version of him.
Ppl say this design doesn’t have the cheetah head on his chest but call me crazy I swear his peck area is the cheetah head it even has the eye slits I’ll probably pick this figure up to complete the ss rotb line great review!
I don't know man, I think he had the right amount of engineering for a studio series figure.... oh yeah, I'm sure a lot of customizers out there will have a field day with this figure
@@chefatron the paint apps are seriously lacking, Hasbro did not even paint the fur. He does pose amazingly and i had a lot of fun with him! It is too bad the lack of paint apps really put a damper on this figure.
Spear of Destiny joke made me laugh. But other than the quality defects, this guy is awesome.. def one of my fav figures I own. I ordered another to see if I can get lucky with quality defects just to display one and play with another
It's a decent enough start. Hopefully a 3rd/4th party will fix it. it's one of the very few(if only) beast formers that doesn't end up with a derpy ass looking alt mode. Even if the rest looks okay-ish, the face is usually cartoonish. I actually like how it's in no way a shell former, and has almost zero backpack.
@@chefatron It can't be mentioned enough. Far too many of the beast bots are just shell formers that wear the entirety of their alt mode on their backs as bots.
Cheetor only had that classic season one look for season one. After that and in beast machines his design evolves. This looks like we are continuing with that idea because this thing is SO cheetor imo and I love him. Just wish he had more spots and maybe another accent color, other than that I love this guy. Mine feels really good Thinking he’ll be more mature like beast machines Cheetor instead of beast wars
From my experience with the new Rotb figures, plastic quality has indeed gone up, the only issue is the paint, the paint with the new figures so easily chips…
@@chefatron I don't mind the expose mechanical parts in beast mode actually. It's a live action movie after all. But the lack of paint for the mechanical parts in beast mode is what makes it look kinda cheap. Great review as always 👏🏻
2:18 😂 I love how the original beast wars design make him look like he’s 16 if you google cheetor and it’ll tell you he’s 16,000 years old which in human age it translates to 16 years old and this new rise of the beasts design makes look like he’s now a adult.
