And it also works so nicely! While I expect most of Tim's builds to work well, I seriously didn't expect the Bigsby to work that nicely even on the low notes (like the low E at 10:30).

I put one on the bass vi I made a few months back (and I recently made another, no video). It worked so well I figured why not use it on a 4 string and just use 4 of the 6 spots?

@@timsway How did the Bigsby on the 4 string bass workout for you ? I have been working on slowly a semi hollow bass , body shape is early ric. Tulip It has a hand carved designed I drew and then carved . Might use a Sterling by musician neck . 3 to 4 pickups taking my time due to heath , M.S. Very Cool what you are doing

that is a very good idea, but the back is curved too so it would still be a matter of setting up a proper jig, just upside down. i could have put pucks or something on the router table, too. I thought it was flat enough so I could freehand it steady but I got a little wobbly.

lol. many many years ago I was at a craft show with some of my furniture next to a highly skilled woodworker. I felt horrible, thinking when he came over to look at my work he'd think I'm a tool. He studied it for a while, one rough sawn pallet coffee table in particular, and said. "This is cool. I wouldn't know when to stop sanding." This affirmed what I had discovered in my previous career as a musician, would be true in my new journey as a maker. This is the CV I used to get gigs and recording sessions for years. Attached to my recorded examples, the only thing written on my resume besides my name, email and phone number was, "Anyone can play a 'C' but no one plays it exactly like me."

@@timsway that's cool! I love having a kill switch on my guitars or basses, but none of my instruments have an actual kill switch, but I can use the pickup selector switches as one (only on a few guitars).

I used tinted epoxy to fill the nail holes and ended up coating the whole thing with it to get in to all the grain and add some strength.

thanks. I've been around instruments my whole life nut only not building them for very long. I make mistakes and learn on each one, still - and you can read the comments from the trained luthiers who like to point that stuff out! lol!
