You simply can't go wrong with Semogue, I love my owners club boar which is amazing. This is on my list even though I'm not a huge badger fan, maybe this will make a believer in me like it did Nick.

I have both badger and Boar SOC's. The boar hair one is my favorite overall but, I still think the badger one is great. Plus, it's great value for the money seeing it uses the same knot found on the more expensive brushes.

I am new to the wet shave community (1 month). I have learned everything I know from your Chanel, so I just wanted to thank you for the quality videos you put up bro. I have already gone off the deep end and currently have 3 merkur razors, 2 omega brushes, and about 20 different soaps lol. I live in western Pennsylvania and was wondering if you had any information on shave meets ups on the east coast side of things as I would love to have some people to geek out with about this culture/movement. I'm pretty sure my lady is tired of hearing about it all lol. thanks in advance for any information you can provide, and thanks for teaching me everything I know so far. huge fan, keep it up brother.

I bought that beauty 2 weeks ago and it has become my favourite brush already! Amazing how much power it has ! It lathers up Mitchell's wool fat really easy, and because the handle is taller than the badger hairs it gives you better control , and really really soft

I bought this brush after watching a previous video you did, and I absolutely love it too! Thanks for the great videos and recommendations! I love my Semogue 2000 too, but this one is so soft, and I find badger holds more heat too.

Rick Cersosimo, I just have a basic black plastic one I ordered on Amazon for under ten bucks. Works fine with this brush. My Semogue 2000 is a bit too big but I can prop it on a diagonal.

Hey Nick, how are ya? I pretty much got into wet shaving because I saw your videos. I bought a lot of the stuff you recommended. Now let me recommend you a product that I tried today and absolutely loved! St. James of London Shaving Cream. I bought the Mandarin & Patchouli scent. It smells and performs amazingly! Take care.

I enjoyed your review of the SOC brush!. Razorock has a 2 band 24mm badger brush that goes for $25!. I still haven't broken it in but I'm sure t will be as good as my SOC Badger brush. The next two band I'm going to purchase is a Nathan Clark Envy White badger brush.

I have the RazoRock but it is my first 2-band so I have little to compare it to and I am also still breaking it in. It is very densely packed, but the tips are not as soft as I expected, at least for now. I'd be very curious to hear the RazoRock and the Semogue OC compared.

I love this brush, too. Currently using a 7-brush rotation (too many?) - all "favorites." Three badgers - including the SOC, the Saville Row 3824, and the WSP Stubby HMW (all three just amazing brushes), two boars - the SOC and the Semogue 830 (can't beat either one), and two synthetics - a RazoRock Plissoft and the Shave Revolution synthetic (I actually like the $9.95 Plissoft a little better - more backbone and great travel brush). Have had only a couple of disappointments - including both Stirling brushes - Kong just too big and the Lil Brudder too small and, strangely, a Semogue 1305 that turned out to be a little too small for me and keeps losing hairs.

I was gonna get the soc badger but ended up getting the somogue 2040 hd silvertip 3 band. good brush. prolly not as much backbone as the soc 2 band but super soft and I love the handle

This might be the best badger hair option under $70. One of the cheapest ways to get your hands on some luxury. Someday I'll pony up the cash for a custom Shavemac, or maybe a Thater 2band, but I'm glad I got the SOC to teach me something along the way. It's tough not to like this brush.

Hi Nick! Like your clips. I use synthetic brush because of its simplicity regarding to cleaning etc. I am considering to get a badger hairbrush. Do you maintain and take care of your badger hairbrushes in a special way? I have seen clips that recommend to use for example hair conditioner on badger brushes. What are your preshaving and postshaving recommendations for maintaining your brushes?

I don't use my SOC 2 band badger much, It's just a little too much scrub for me. The price is right though. I prefer something with crazy flow-through and a luxurious feel without going too floppy. In the end I think my favourite badger is my Savile Row 3326. I'm not sure if Shavemac make the knot but there is something about it that just hits the spot (except the expense of course) With the SOC Badger, I tend to like that I can really drill into a hard soap and it's good on the face as long as I take 'painterly' strokes rather than splay the knot. If I splay and work the lather too much, It gets a little uncomfortable.

Hey Nick, can you please tell me of a good place where I can purchase shaving soap samples like the ones you show on your videos. For example like that thin tiki sample puck that's wrapped in waxed paper with the tiki sticker label on it. I don't want to buy the big tub of tiki soap and find out its not for me.

I recently got the SOC boar hair brush. I think I've broken it in well with ~10 shaves and ~10 palm lathers over the days. The brush still feels prickly on my face. I wonder if the badger version would strike the right balance between backbone and comfort for face lathering.
@HouseofChains81
@HouseofChains81 7 лет назад
BedSideDweller I have the SOC boar brush and it’s broken in and super soft on my face. I have a vulfix Badger and it’s more “prickly” on my face than the SOC boar. It’s been over a year since you’re comment so I’m assuming it’s further broken in and way softer than when you first made your comment. I have the SOC Badger on it’s way and I can’t wait to try it.
