When it counts, we are cold and rigid.” Too true about the last three instances failed Democratic president campaigns. Those candidates were each so much more charismatic after they had lost
I think that has to do with the nature of the campaign. Democrats especially are very careful with what they say and how they share their message/ideas. When they've already lost they don't need to hold back anymore.
I was a supporter of Barack Obama in 2008, and I remember being impressed with how gracious Hillary was in conceding and then rallying behind Obama in the general election. She was instrumental in uniting the party behind her former rival. Now I support Hillary, and I hope Bernie Sanders will follow her example and throw his weight behind her. We, as Democrats, need to unify as a party for the sake of this country.
Important to note: Bernie ended up doing about 40 rallies for Hillary in 2016. Hillary did about 12 for Obama. Bernie definitely worked his ass off to get her elected.

frams12 Thankfully most of his more devout base is independents and young voters, which have never been a very reliable demographic in US elections. These people wouldn't vote for Hillary any way. I presume a very large portion of true democrats will still vote for her.

Hillary Clinton has similar positions to Obama and knew that she'd probably be the Democratic nominee in 8 years. Bernie Sanders has different positions from Hillary Clinton and Sanders probably isn't planning to run for president, again.

I mean, she is an excellent politician but if she could be defeated by a junior senator in 2008, how is it possible that she can somehow win the brutal fight against a man who have made his whole career on talking nonsense in 2016? Hillary is kind of politicians who have all the skills to be a great POTU but just can't win the general election.

@@blertalika7308 I agree. I feel like a majority of the attacks leveled at Clinton were sexist. Many of those criticisms were overlooked when it came to male politicians. I feel like Hillary was unfortunately too much for men during the times that she ran. She is a trailblazer despite my feelings on some of her policies.

He might have had some issues keeping it in his pants but no one can doubt that Hillary is the love of his life, and that he is the love of hers. They are, perhaps, less overtly affectionate than, say, the Reagans, but the way his eyes shine as he looks at her, the way hers go soft when she looks at him - it's all there, plain as day in their eyes.
She is so genuine in her passion for what she believes in. The Clintons are amazing for what they did for our country and continue to do. She's such an inspiration for all of us, for no one has encountered such vitriol and kept going with such dignity and grace. Simply amazing!

Awww it's so sweet the way Bill looks at her. I really hope she runs for president in 2016, I wasn't so sure about her in 2008, but the things she has done, especially for women around the world, it's amazing how many women she has helped. She's infinitely more qualified than a lot of other folks, I hope she changes her mind about running in 2016.
What a great speech- the nod to Harriett Tubman and the Underground Railroad was incredibly artful, painting a picture of us all as slaves of the Bush administration, and we have to "keep going" even though the atmosphere appears bleak. What a way to unite women, black people and dems all in one swoop.

I wasn't a Hillary supporter that much in the past (more for Ron Paul) but I have to say this I sincerely hope she meant everything she said word for word because seriously,she inspired me and I have a deep respect for her after hearing that speech. I think if Obama is elected,and need be,he should have her nominated for the Supreme Court..THAT's where change is! I can't lie, I was moved by this speech and how great she was at stumping for Obama and getting a Democrat in the WH I supported Sanders in 2016 and refused to vote for Clinton for a few reasons, chief among them was her acting as if she was entitled to my vote I wish I had seen more of this Hillary (with the actions to back it up) in 2016, but it was all about her having waited her turn and I couldn't endorse that

Sure, I agree, she should definitely have been president, and the American electoral system is fucked up, and that she did win the election in a way, but to be president you have to win the system, and that system requires to be more popular in certain states than others. Her calling half of Trump supporters “a basket of deplorables” and refusing to over any palpable change is what lost her the election.

that speech was right on par with every other speech she made on the campaign trail that year, that is her speech voice. if you did your homework, you would have easily been able to figure that out.
