The thing for me is that in the original decisive collision battles you could argue that the antagonists were ready to fight and prepared for a fight with friends, whereas arguably Rean wasn't. This time though, Rean and Co are the ones who are decided about what they need to do, whereas half of the opponents this time are questioning themselves as to why they are there....
@@KyunaCookies I think it is fair to argue that Claire, Sharon, Lechter, Millium and even potentially Arianrhod could have chosen not to be there, and probably didn't want to really fight. I am not sure that even Cedric wanted to be there as well, given his hesitation and ultimate failure of his role in his designated task. I guess I was comparing that against the original battle were C had no hesitation about taking Rean on and using his full force to take him out.
Ok this was legitimately the best battle theme in the game, just because of what it's using in it. I love all of the new tracks as well but this takes the cake in how hyped up it made me in these encounters down there.
And then (Spoilers) This plays on the Pantegral when you have to Juggle 4 parties and fight everyone invading... That felt SO GOOD when hearing it there
Right there with you. I haven’t gotten to the point where this plays, but if the 70 hours I’ve played are anything to go by, I’ll be screaming that during this scene.
Yup I felt disappointment and sadness when I heard this in the first game, because of the plot, felt it again at the middle and lower fights (before the final boss) of the third game because I really didn't want to fight two of them. Her especially. (Iron bloods fight)
HOLY FRICKIN CHRIST! After Blue Destination and I Remember You, I never thought there's going to be another kickass variant of Decisive Collision. Just reached the Gral and I was pleasantly surprised when this music during the first real combat.
Last time i checked you never win any fight in cold steel, your party always is getting saved or the enemies were "holding back" because the plot of the games were decided even before CS1 kicked in, with no way to actually affect the story in any way whatsoever, is it really that impressive? Also, what's the point in comparing when each FF is a separate story even among themselves, FF6 and Persona 3 would kick Falcom's storytelling any day of the week.
@@frozenwrath1352 You do realize that the Trails series started well before Cold Steel and has gone well past it, right? I can see how you'd think what you think if you thought Trails was Cold Steel only, lmao. That must suck.
@@stopbeingignorant This is the comment that i expected from a Trails diehard fan, can't even extrapolate the fact that i've already played every entry and even machine translated those that doesn't have fan translations or localizations, just from my "the events of CS were already set in motion way before CS1 started". Trail games are a narrative nightmare because of how much retcon everytime they have to go through because they can't balance their games properly because their entries expand beyond 1 system, so that leads to garbage character development, never letting go from their "shounen stereotype" persona.
@@Fabio-ql5yf Go pick any girl and watch their interactions in further games, the "romance" elements in the CS arc are just hindering whatever storytelling the games might have, re-introducing characters over and over like someone is just gonna pop CS3 as their first one and your party gets constantly nerfed with each game. No retcons? i knew Trails fans were on a special kind of copium, didn't think it was this bad.
Gos, I love this track sooo much. Probably my favorite final boss theme from any rpg. Really glad they brought this song back, and even better, the super arranged version at that.
Its like in CS1 / CS2, the original version fit the theme of the battle and struggle between Rean and Crow. In CS3, this now fits the theme that things have become serious and that there is no choice but to go beyond these challenges
You know, like they said, that was a long time coming and to see all three working together with their respective allies against Ouroboros.. man, THE FEELS.
When this starting playing... All the emotions from past game came back... Fuck it was intense. Absolute beast of a boss theme and for the final bosses. I'm just at the point where I fight Sandlot and Mcburn. But I quit cuz I need to finish on the big ass TV in the living room. Now I'm waiting till they get tired of the shows so I can finish this amazing game
I've only played CS3, which I randomly picked up after enjoying the battle system in the demo. This boss rush at the end of the game is legitimately one of my very favorite moments in any RPG and the music playing through it all was a huge part of that.
@@WaterparkRanger That's unfortunate. However the Sky series has way less hardware requirements since their origin platform was the PSP. Even with an older notebook you could play them just fine, I think. However they start to spread the older titles accross multiple platforms in the near future (already have started with that in 2020). So you might just get lucky with more Switch releases...
McBurn- Hey blade master chick you ain't so bad after all. Trying your best is good and all but careful now you don't want to end up like dear old dad! Can't be too much fun having a nicked blade. Laura- You have no right to speak on my father! *Radiant Battle aura appears*
the first battle against those two monsters was the best and when the music kicks in that was too much for my heart god i love this series still waiting for the finale
Idk how u ppl have the strength of will to actually wait for a localization to play cs4. As soon as i saw the ending of cs3 i caved and downloaded cs4 idc if i have to use a spreadsheet to understand what is going on i aint waiting!
gurukof lol luckily for me by the time i finished cs2, cs3 localization was already out. I have no idea how western kiseki fans have lived like this waiting for years to play these games. This is the series that finally made me go and start really learning japanese.
Personally I'd rather wait tbh I have so many games in my backlog that i'll be playing to pass time, so the wait for the western release won't be too painful for me, games like ff7 remake are dropping soon as well to help kill time
this super arranged version has MUCH MORE intensity and sound much darker compared to original version but IMO the original version has more all around intensity.. still, both are SO INCREDIBLE and i haven't played CS3 yet..
I love it, especially since this is indeed a much darker game. It's funny how fitting it is even though the SUper Arrange remixes were done before this game was even announced.
Someone pointed it out to me on a track video of it, but for "I remember you" in the first 40 seconds, I feel like Patrick Star with " oh, now I see it!" 🤣
This fight was honestly one of my favorite in all of the legend of heroes games. Rean is the one character that I feel I relate to the most and so his story sorta feels almost like mine because of how similar we are. I will stick with him to see through the rest of his story.
This gives the feels so hard, in contrast to the absolute badassery that is Spiral of Erebos. So far CS3's final dungeon is by far my favourite in the series. Possibly of all JRPGs I've played. It's straight to the point design wise, it's got banger tracks AND emotional encounters.
You could have easily just switched them out once you got into the battle. That's what I did with Jusis, Machias and Elliot because they were underleveled af.
I have no problem at all. I barely train anyone besides my favorite characters. I play Nightmare with 1st weapon to fight all boss (weak like hell) but I still win. (I did this because I want more challenge) Zemurian Ore weapons are only for grind materials when I want 1 S-craft KO all monsters and pick drops. This game has become way too easy now. No sure-kill S-craft from Boss anymore, just damage (50% cut damage Iron Will from Rean can already do the trick, let alone something like 80% or 90% cut damage) Not to mention Brave Order, Chrono Burst, Moebius Master Quartz that boosts and spreads item effect. Get 1 Evade Tank + Main Moebius, Sub Sophie Master Quartz can help you fight all the bosses in just 1 fight without resting. I miss the earlier game bosses (Renne KO my entire team in 1st turn, Ready or not, here I come) Falcom should make infinity play just like YS or Tokyo Xanadu.
Almost no RPG has done what this sub-series has done. Much less any JRPG. . . . . . . . . . . . .Make the bad ending the canon ending, and have a game after to explore that bad ending's world.
@@babatundeismail6732 I played the original Legend of Heroes on PSP in the west, I didn't get to play the other two. (No sub-series, just actual base "The Legend of Heroes.") Kinda wish they would remake them and put them on PS4 / steam / whatever.
Anyone else struggle with these battles? I struggled in the 1st battle vs Arianhrod and McBurn. That Buff Clear move was annoying and McBurn’s damage was insane with Burn and Curse(?). Then I discovered the OPness of Sirius + Gungnir + Rage + 98% EVA + ATK+3 (and making the attack as high as possible) and it basically trivializes the rest of the fights lol just counter for 40k+ and instant Break then use Wind Blade and wail on them
Another trick is to have Juna, Machias and Sara as your reserve members, and just cycle out your last acting member before the opponent's turn with either the Light Speed Flash brave order, Juna for Quick Star or Macchius for Burst Drive. Even with below average setups, Arianhrod and McBurn should rarely (if ever) even get a turn. Great news is that you can use this same trick for the next fight too.
Oh, yeah. Forgot to mention that if you want to keep them nice and close, both Sara and Laura have suction moves to keep them basically linking arms the whole fight. Go ham!
Emma with her 200 cp s craft pretty much stops the heavy skills , and crescent shell blocks most of their attacks. But it can get hard really quick if the fight gets away from you.
@@babatundeismail6732 same, just finished a play through of 1 and 2 and on 3 now, getting ready for 4, I have taken that whole week off for this experience
@@Xpalzin Actually I probably won't be playing CS4 until like Janurary because i'm currently playing the sky and crossbell games on my phone then i'll be replaying Cold Steel 1-3. I want to go into CS4 with as much knowledge as possible from previous titles so I can fully enjoy it once I play it
Holy shit. I'm pretty sure that's the only valid reaction to the Act 2 finale in Cold Steel IV. Just, holy shit, they didn't need to go that hard. Doesn't top the "Fragments: A Shattered Blade" interlude chapter, but I don't think anything will
@@Fabio-ql5yf the way I had it worded earlier, before correcting it, was supposed to be saying that it was an Interlude, called Fragmented Blade. I said this because I had forgotten that the chapter was actually called "Fragments" and the subtitle being "A Shattered Blade."
