It’s the release schedule they insist on having. Gotta release a sequel in a year. Which is why kuro 2 sucked and probably the most filler of all the games in the series. Reverie had plot at least
The Gral is a great follow-up to the Vermilion Castle as a final dungeon. In CS2, Class VII is rushing a gauntlet of monsters like Duvalie and McBurn, and is saved by the cavalry every time. In the Gral, they ARE the cavalry--no one else is coming. And despite the same monsters hanging around in groups, they kick ass a second time.
The Gral is not just for show and to show the basement version of Vermillion Castle, but to show the growth that Class VII (Old) has reached over the past year.
Its also already checkmate because the beast that is waiting down below needs to stay alive... well, how can you keep it alive if the only one strong enough to fight it can become crazy if someone has to sacrifice himself for him... (one of the small girl just so happen to be the only weapon capable of damaging the beast.)
Actually it even highlight how much stronger Old Class VII better thant that, cause outside of McBurn (which they couldn't even come close to when he was taking his Blazing Demon mode in Cold Steel 2) and Crow, the characters they face in the Grail are actually much stronger including : -The Legendary Steel Maiden which is one of the strongest person in Erebonia's history. -McBurn actually having to try this time. -The Jeager King which is the boss of 2 characters Old Class VII were struggling to keep up with in Cold Steel 2. -Rufus who in Cold Steel 2 overpowered them with no effort. And also include people that rescue them in Cold Steel 2 and/or were valuable support like Claire, Lechter and Sharon (really the only complete outsider that had nothing to do with Class VII prior Cold Steel 3 is Shirley), so yeah really a great final dungeon and boss gauntlet to highlight just how far they have come...... and sadly how much work they have yet to do considering how it ends.
I beated the Gral using a combination of Crits with Breaks and S-Crafts because otherwise the fight would be endless since I didn't grind the orbments properly for the ENTIRE freaking cast of class VII... The hardest fights are The duo, the others later on is easy due to breaking them is far easier to stun them. Heck the Dark Dragon was harder than the Duo, but less than the holy beast, but only because one of my 3 teams has the worst loadouts.
When i heard this song the first time, i was like, "holy..." this has to be the best game's OST i have heard in my whole life. Then again the Kiseki series' music has never ceased to amaze me.
@@ranime8156 not to mention, the amount of games this series has. And every single one of them has comically large script, and sometimes you have to play like 3-4 games to complete one arc, and each games are 80-100 hours long with bunch of text to read, and that's just the main story alone. Yeah, this series is really hard to get into.
@@irjiiu1041 On the other hand, it's not like Kingdom Hearts where every game is on a different console. Own a decent PC and you can play at least most of them (all of them if it's a good one), then you get a PS4 (the leading console of last generation, mind you) and you can play the rest. Of course, you do still have to buy and then play 11 games and counting... but you can start a friend off small, too. Just say "here, play Sky FC/Cold Steel 1" depending on their preferences, and then go from there. I actually tackled this entire series over the course of 2020. Hell of a ride it was!
THAT ENDING !!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT !!! that ending was...... everything..... cannot be more hyped about playing Cold Steel IV once I have enough to buy it. Best videogame story ever.
Falcom Game Team : So, the final dungeon will be long and arduous... Falcon Sound Team : Then let's give the players an epic soundtrack to accompany them along their journey!
Alisa:"Yes. So we can live our lives in peace...' "....and stop them from ending the world!" Emma:"Alisa...." Juna:"That's right!" Kurt:"We won't allow them to succeed....no mater what." Sara:"Looks like you're revved up and rarin' to go." "It's a shame we couldn't get everyone in here, but we'll just have to figure things out as we go." Rean:"That's right." "What awaits us here is our ultimate battle.... but there's no need to be afraid." "We've all trained for over two years, each of us honing our skills." "Together, there's nothing the united Class VII can't overcome!" "We will halt the Great Twilight! We will rescue Altina!" "And on behalf of everyone out there who sent us off....." "We will all return alive! No matter what!" Final Dungeon Plays.
Just finish the whole West Zemuria Arc (Liberl, Crossbell & Erebonia arc) yesterday and this final dungeon bgm still hit me the most ... Can't wait to play Hajimari no Kiseki and later games tho (Calvard Arc/Middle or East Zemuria Arc)
I dunno about you, but I'm really interested as to what kinds of martial arts the other parts of Zemuria have. There's Taito and Eight Leaves from the east, but I wonder what native Calvardian martial art is there? Or other arts from the east?
@@kurosan0079 There are a couple that are already mentioned as well as eastern magic, particularly with illusions, so they might elaborate on that. Ancient Calvard itself likely had eastern influences but its native population is apparently culturally more like the rest of western Zemeria. Much of the Eastern culture we have seen is due to immigrants and refugees from the east.
@@brynphillips9957 "second half" You know I am both shocked and happy to see we possibly get another 5-7 games especially when they mentioned problems in east parts of Zemuria (and if they said why in CS4 please don't spoil me guys).
@@richardisted3703 Yeah, also she had it rough. Entire series she had a cold mother, then Sharon betrayed her and she witnessed that her father was one of the main villains.
@@SeekGrace yea i thought she'll get better at the end of series by how alisa act toward her, but nope, she somehow became worst, arming a nation for literal world war and get away without any consequences, crazy how the villains are far more likeable than this woman.
This is......intense. In no way is this as jovial as Glessing way or Sunshine Coastline, but it seems like it's filled with hope and urgency. Stakes are high, we can do it....this is what I get from this song. I love it.
Not going to lie. This theme sends fucking shivers down my spine due to how this theme is used. The erebonian cursed which now has everyone in zemuria scared shitless. War with calvard. The sept terrion of fire and earth or the cursed sept “steel” about to be brought forth. Oh god.
@@akaishuiichi5566 The game was made for PS4. The localization company (Xseed for CS1 and 2, NisA for 3 and 4) are the ones who then translate it, and then make a PC port of the game. So it's thanks to that extra work they have to do, that makes it a later release.
Cant get enough to listen to this! Since my friend forced me to play this series, im very thankful to him for that, Trails has been jump to the very top of my most fav jrpg series of all time! Just finished the 4th, altho its all well, i just dont like how they didnt explain in detail on why my fav char (Claire) kept supporting the enemy side.. Well i know obviously, but it just didnt come out from herself in detail.. Well, waiting for the english version of Trails of the Beginning.. Will start Sky 1 2 3, Azure and Zero now back to back..
@@henrysmarthy286 not gonna lie, her's and Lechter reasoning to be still on the Chancellor side really makes me dislike the character in CS4. It just makes no sense.
Man if class vii was able to improve their strength this much in just a year and a half I can only imagine how much stronger Estelle and Joshua will be in CS4, since it's been about 3 years since their journey in the sky games
I literally stopped playing when I first entered the dungeon, in complete awe at this. This might be my fav final dungeon/area music ever, in any game.
I'm huge fan of A Light Illuminating the Depths. Such a punchy theme. I also dig Phantasmagoria, but that one lacks a bit of oomph in the musical composition/presentation compared to this song and ALID, I feel.
I am not going to lie. This song is truly is strong. Its just wow... Depressing does not fit. Erebonia..... the land of Darkness, Fire and earth.... The Land of Dark Steel.... Cold steel the Cursed Sept-terrion which is a fusion of the fire and earth treasure......... The land where the new Divine Blade shall be born. Divine blade of Ashen Void...
@@iwanttoputkamuistoesinmymo5938 Yeah from a quick glance it seems so. Thanks for the suggestion, looking forward to it at one point in the near future. Right now too busy with other things and financially not really ready to spend on games.
Darko ND yea thats understandable, hope u do enjoy it whenever u end up getting around to it. Had a blast this past half year doing nothing but playing these games on my free time
The music is what got me into this series. Just popped up on my recommended one day, so bought CS1, and loved it. Hopefully you can try it out soon. It's a great series.
Finishing this series was depressing. Didn't want it to end. The character/story development was phenomenal. Haven't felt this attached to characters since Skies of Arcadia.
CS1: Wow Class VII have potential CS2: Damn they are really strong now CS3: Dude i have a team of monsters with me, and the new one have crazy potential too Class VII is already the strongest independent group around, and the New Class VII will add even more power when they got in their prime (Altina will be a second Millium with more Stealth, Juna a second Lloyd, Musse is like Olivert but with a rifle, Kurt will become the master of the vander dual-blade style and Ash will be one of the strongest member of Class VII)
Ash is.....unique. He is the strongest in the new class VII isn't it? Kurt is sort of like Joshua. Good arts, double swords, evasion, etc. Musse is a ton like Olivier. She's always spouting nonsense like him XD Juna was brought up in the same street as Lloyd..Altina is Altina.
I agree old class VII beats Estelle and co. And the SSS in terms of Sheer power and the new ones got a Ton of potential. Can't wait to see or hear about them inthe future
@@mzgtyjc5651 That's one of the reason, but also because Ash don't need comparison considering the number of character who comment on his strength, Bracer, Ironblood, the army and even Spoil CS4 Zephyr go out of their way to recruit him, he'll probably be a real powerhouse later
I like how CS3's score uses more piano parts. I like the rock + violin songs of the first two CS games, but the piano just adds more flavor, if that makes sense.
@@atlanta7314 ah true the only reason I say that is for the reason of is that if you start any of the CS games new without porting is always says you picked her
I’m not scared for when it’s announced. I’m scared for IF it’s announced. I know people bash at NISA for their localization changes and adaptations based on differences in culture, but is it fair to bash them like we did DiC and 4Kids? At least they keep the character names, don’t make censorship too blatant, and keep subbed versions for us to watch, too. Tl;dr, I’m scared of fake outrage from malicious RU-vidrs, and tweeters scaring off any hopes for the game to be announced. At the same time, even if NISA planned the release, how do you explain the plotline of CS4, when anything after CS3 is spoiler territory?
The true darkness of Erebomia, The land of Erebos where the sept-terrions of fire and earth fused to create Steel, the cursed treasured in which now is about to be summoned in front of all eyes of Zemuria. The Heroes of trails of sky arc and the Crossbell arc are gathering to help the Erebonian heroes challenge the Chancellor and Dark Gnome who have brought the end times. Not going to lie this theme is fitting since Erebos is the true name of Erebonia. Plus the Black records have in a sad sense predicted this. Trails of Cold steel 4 is going to be the ride that may.... well ....... yeah.
So many Personal fights in the Final Dungeon...each with some Meaning and some more personal and less personal than others: (Read with Caution) McBurn: No one, but a test for Emma and Gaius Arianhod: Laura Rutger: Fie Shirley: Likely Sara Sharon: Alisa Azure Sigfried: Everyone, but Mostly Rean Millium: Old Class 7 Lechter: No one, another Test Claire: Old Class 7, but Juna as well Rufus: Jusis
Mcburn was personal to Laura more than Arianrhod remember she doesn't go into Radiant Wing mode until McBurn insults Victor. Both Sara and Fie have history with Shirley from all of them being apart of the top Jaeger corps in the continent and the rivalry they had. Everyone in class VII loved Sharon so it just wasn't Alisa who felt the betrayal it just hit her the hardest. Sara also had the grudge of Sharon getting in her way during the Liberl incident and the attack on the guilds. Rean worked with Lechtor for two years so he is connected to him. Rufus was on the board of Thor's and has ties to class VII as well plus he crushed them in YMIR years ago.
I won't be playing CS4 yet unfortunately I still need to finish the sky and crossbell games but I know without a doubt CS4 will be all the more worth it once I finish all the previous trails games
My personal favourite comps for late game dungeons: CS1: Rean + Emma, Gaius + Fie CS2: Rean + Laura, Machias + Jusis CS3: Rean + Alicia, Machias + Jusis Most likely not an optimal arrangement but I had so much fun pairing the CP-hungry Rean with a gifting support and then an Arts duo. CS1 is different because evade is really busted when cancelling arts is so easy in that entry.
Hearing this I remember the end of CS3 with Rean and class VII descending the Spiral of Erebos fight after fight ..only to meet at the bottom Death and defeat....shivers down my spine, frankly. Its amazing what this series can do combining Story/ emotions/set pieces/music...
this final dungeon show how far and talented every member of og Class VII has come, every single one of them are strong enough to be Ouroboros enforcer at this point. Rean, Crow, Laura, Emma, and Gaius would get scouted and become high tier enforcer. Fie, Jusis, Millium, and Alisa (with Orbal Gear) would pass the test for sure. Machias and Elliot would pass the test barely (I think).
Fie is the youngest person to become a senior bracer, at just 16 years of age, she's 100% stronger than Alisa, Jusis and Millium. I'd say that Rean, Crow, Gaius and Emma are above the rest of Class VII, with Laura and FIe being in the middle, then Millium and then the other 4, who are a tad weaker
Asep Surasep yeah this song is a big spoiler so unless you want to end up in the train to true yami no kiseki then stay in the light. Sen 3 gets dark so very dark.
honestly I feel like they should have saved this OP for cold steel 4 with all the background imagery and stuff they showed during the OP it was perfect for a final send off for the final game in the series
What you wanted is basically done in this video: (CS3 spoilers obviously) www. youtube. com/watch?v=OTJs4m0xvIA&ab_channel=%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%83%AB%E5%A5%BD%E3%82%80.
I research before about Unisuga. The rumor said he leave Falcom? I'm relieve if it's just a rumor. It's gonna be suck if he left the company since his song is the best for me.
this dungeon i love the story but hate how it forced u to use certain characters. ended up cheating on some bosses since i was too lazy to change quartz lol
I can said the most sad holy beast which guide the audios gift is earth holy beast ,help human to remove half of the curse ,rean kill it 100times even is a corpse, other holy beast haven't die yet sky dragons and aoa wolf and ,fire holy beast is witch from hexe clan ,cs 4 fight her
The series itself is incredibly mid to me, for every good thing it does it does another thing really bad/blandly, but the music is never the downfall. 3 games in a row where the final dungeon theme is perfect so far. Gonna be playing Cold Steel 4 soon.
