Couldn't agree with you more and probably why Trails 1 is my fav! The sequels are great but there's just something about the old class vii and their school days I love playing through

It's the same for the first game in every arc, which is nice. Sky FC is maybe the happiest and most lighthearted game in the series, and then SC barges in and changes everything. Zero had some heavy material in it, but the stakes weren't truly raised until Azure. As someone binging through these games still, I appreciate when the start of a new arc reels the tension back for a bit to build all over again.

It's necessary to feel connected to the characters and understand what they are fighting for.

@@Pompadouriuswell the stakes were high in azure because it literally takes place side by side with trails of coldsteel 1 and I believe in that class 7 was mention in azure in someway

Yeah I finished CS3 a couple months ago and I forgot how nostalgic the first game's ost is, i'm going to go back and replay it, This is the best JRPG series i've ever experienced and i'm glad to have discover it

It gives me the same vibe as "Looking Up At The Sky" from Sky's Second Chapter.

The ost of CS1 and CS2 is my favourite by far, CS3 had some good tracks as well but it doesn't compare to the first two

now you completely right on your statement! sometimes i even think the soundworks of the game is more than the game's visual can take... since i don't enjoy the game's graphic engine too much!

Definitely agree with you, it used to be looking up to the sky from SC but this theme took it's spot for me

I started Cold Steel this christmas. I already beat 1 and 2. Now I'm almost done with Sky. 100% addicted to these games, the music is incredible

That's what makes these games so good. You're bound to find at least one or two characters that click with you, and the world itself is so beautiful and fleshed out. Certainly has more soul and heart than a lot of photorealistic big budget AAA titles nowadays.

Yeah it just doesn't hit the same anymore. There are still gems don't get me wrong, but I have to really dig to find a song from the OG team that I don't like, where as since Cold Steel III there have been at least a couple per soundtrack, and the rest of it doesn't hit the highs of old games.

Same, and the old jdk band. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore after Sen II’s release in 2014.

That's pretty disappointing to hear considering that I plan to eventually play through those games...

It’s not bad by any means.. but I just didn’t find myself rocking to the music in 3 and 4 so far anywhere NEAR as much as I did in 1.

@@Roza_ I completely agree. So many of the regular cutscene music or town music is sooooo good. Truly a blessed soundtrack

After finishing the Cold Steel arc my ranking of the ost would be like this CS1>CS2>CS3>CS4

Lol there is no comparison. This track is great but Terra theme is legendary. Probably the best rpg overworld theme ever made .

@@jayt2917 Honestly I prefer plenty of tracks to Terra's theme. If I were to tally my list, it wouldn't even make the top 10 of the best RPG overworld themes. That said, it is iconic.

@@McCaroni_Sup fair enough. For me ff 6/3 is my favourite rpg of all time and terra theme is legendary so im biased about it lol . But yeah plenty of overworld track that are better but theres something that makes unique and special compare to others . Definitely on my top 10 overworld theme for me . As a matter of fact its n1 spot for me personally.

@@jayt2917 Yeah I actually quite like Terra's theme. It's just that I've played a lot of JRPGs, and have gotten to experience lots of overworld themes. Though I understand that it means a lot to many people. It truly is a great track. I personally love melancholy overworld themes, and Terra's theme is pretty high up on that genre imo. As for other melancholy overworld themes, one of my favorites is "Looking Up At The Sky" from Sora no Kiseki SC.
