He's spot on in most of his policy too - we need to roll back to pre-Reagan era tax cuts and massively invest in green energy production 🙏🙏 To disempower the fossil fuel industry (not just here, but regimes all around the globe) AND save the climate, before its too late 😔
The Honorable Senator Sanders remains one of the finest Senators since his/our generation came of age. May his voice remain powerful and his message energize people's progressive impulses into constructive action.
I agree! Bernie is an incredible member of the Senate. He genuinely cares about us normal people who don't have access to vast amounts of money. When there was a debt ceiling bill, Bernie decided to vote no because he felt he couldn't, "in good conscience," approve of it because it hurt the working class. One of the stipulations in the bill was if you were Under 55, abled bodied, and unemployed, your SNAP benefits would be revoked. Bernie definitely cares about the everyday person !
@@TorontoJonCommunism has never existed in this country. And the most popular policy programs in our history have been the "socialist" ones: Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, and VA.
I watched two news broadcasts today. One from DW News and one from France24. Both expressed concern over a second term of Donald Trump. It's good to know that the rest of the free world shares your concerns, Mr Sanders.
You must have failed math in school and I presume you never understood basic economics either which is why you foolishly support a Communist like Bernie Sanders who would have run America into the ground, both economically and in terms of foreign policy.
He would have been somewhat hamstrung by the nutjob Republicans, along with Sinema and Manchin. His first two years - great - then the Republican led Congress would do nothing.
@@GonyaKulie-pg6uo In many ways, I agree, however they are alike in that they were the last 2 progressive US presidents. And in both cases, it didn't go well for them.
I wanted to vote for him! Perhaps God thought it best that he stand in his current capacity as a sane senator. Don't you agree we need all the sanity we can get on the Hill?
That's what happened back in 2016. Lot of bernie supporters, inluding myself, felt massively disenfranchised, and then even more so when it was revealed, by russian hackers no less, that bernie got dicked over by the DNC for hillary. Many did not vote. And thus, we got trump. This WILL happen again if people don't go Biden. Look, I'm not entirely happy with Biden either, for various reasons, but in all honesty, all he has to do is pick the RIGHT people to run the administration, maybe REMOVE some remaining trumpers, and THEN he can go nap for the rest of the day. I'd be perfectly fine with him doing 4 hours of work and then knocking off.
History scholars will look back to this era and shake their heads knowing we could have helped ourselves long ago had we just put Bernie in the office where he belongs.
Historians have the benefit of hindsight. If more Americans read and understood history and how that past influences us today, maybe we Americans would have foresight to build a better country and world. Sometimes that's asking a lot. I love Bernie and voted for him in 2016 primary but too much was arrayed against him, and an electorate that has been trained to fear, and not think and analyze, was bound to reject him.

How do I get myself on the timeline where Bernie won 2016. He's so much sharper than Biden, and he has never wavered in his beliefs over decades of service. Breaks my heart knowing what could have been.
Don't buy the BS the corporate media is selling. If you like Bernie, listen to what he says about Biden. Bernie speaks tells the truth. If he was concerned about Biden, he would say so. Biden has a stutter. He is still sharp.
Bernie has wavered his decades of his beliefs lol. He had his fair chances in ruining and lost fairly lol you just don't like Biden cause Biden has a stutter issue and a few gaffes. Bernie will have gates too but no one ain't gonna show it cause then y'all are gonna defend it. Bernie is too old to be president as well.
Bernie is more or less a social democrat. A socialist is more to left (but I guess democratic socialism is far left in the US…while it's more towards the centre in west europe, especially the last 30 years). The president that served the longest, Franklin d Roosevelt, is also the leading politician that was closest to be a social democrat. with that said, how many "socialists/communists" has been elected and what position have they been given to have an impact on "hardworking working class Americans"? Since you state the fact, you must have the information. ( but since you define him as a communist, I guess you think you have several in congress and senate…I can't think of anyone, ever, right now, but I'm not an american so I assume you have better overview @@TorontoJon
@@TorontoJonHe literally has though, and his policy would objectively make life better for all of us collectively. He’s not a communist, or even a socialist technically. He’s a new deal social democrat. But frankly everyone should be a communist. Capitalism prioritizes greed and profit over human life. Capitalism DEVOURS the working class to benefit the few. Communism is the logical conclusion to the values of democracy and equality. Wake up brother.
Bernie gets it. 🤍 Bernie has always gotten it 💙 and Bernie speaks the Truth 😇 to power 👺. Bernie is the Golden 💛 Heart of the People!! Thank you 🙏🏻 Lord for Bernie Sanders!!
No. America's tragedy is that it's full of Americans. Bernie is unelectable in the US. Besides, even if he were president, in which fantasy world would he get the votes in either the House or Senate to make significant and lasting change??
As a female from the UK I am horrified at the lack of bodily autonomy that American women have. How any reasonable American woman can vote for a party that openly oppresses women is mind numbing.
Imagine being a woman in this county with the assault on our rights by other women(maga mainly and Talibanigelists). I'm sick to death of the right wing in this country. I've never voted for a republican and never will and have only lived in democratic states except for summers in my teens when I lived in Texas but was in the capital which is not like the rest of the state. With this draconian abortion laws if I had been in a red state I know I could have died or been arrested in my early twenties after 5 miscarriages and a fetal death at 20 weeks that required a D&C, the medical equivalent of an abortion when my fetus died inutero. It astonishes me that any non-maga woman would vote for the rethuglikkkon party. Please America Vote Blue for Women's Rights!!
👏👏👏😔 Say it louder for the ppl still not wanting to vote against Trump. Even Bernie is vocal and spot on about how important it is and what's at stake in this election 😔 the GOP must not win 🙏
@helios7212 I'm not saying any party is perfect, But I will say this country has been in a steady downward spiral since Biden went into office. The writing is on the wall. Look at it.
@@TorontoJon The strongest economies and healthiest societies in the world are all either led by social democrats or adhere to strong social democratic principles. So the part of your rant that claims socialism has never benefited hard workers is pure nonsense. As for Communists, maybe you should look up that word and learn what it means, and where it comes from. It is an ideal that was devised to democratize states where oligarchy had taken over, and its author was trying to devise a democratic form of government that wrestles power from the wealthy and redistributes it among the people. What's more, while some countries such as China have given lip service to being "communist", Communism as a form of government has never been instituted anywhere in the world! As for the working class, no billionaire has ever make life better for hard working people. If they did, they would no longer be billionaires. Finally, please stop confusing communism with Totalitarianism, it makes you seem daft!

@@jvh8806I would prefer actually getting quality services for tax money, like universal healthcare, instead of funding wars and bailouts for the rich. I would prefer for billionaires to have less money because they wouldn't be getting taxpayer-funded bailouts and actually pay their fair share of taxes.
@@imanerd36 agreed on the wars and other social issues. But the rich already pay 46% or more of the federal taxes. Question to ponder : Have you or any of your friends ever gotten a job from a poor person ?
@@jvh8806 1. 46% is the top tax rate on ordinary earned income before any deductions. Billionaires make almost all of their money from capital gains, which maxes out at 20%. And that is the top rate before any dedications. When they do pay taxes, according to the non-profit OxFam, "According to a 2021 White House study, the wealthiest 400 billionaire families in the U.S. paid an average federal individual tax rate of just 8.2 percent. For comparison, the average American taxpayer in the same year paid 13 percent." 2. Many of the billionaires use approaches like “borrow, spend, die” to avoid income taxes completely. This is where they borrow money against appreciating assets (which they never realize, so they are not taxed on them in life), avoid taxes by spending the loan, and leave the debt for heirs to inherit (which then gets stepped-up basis treatment so they can enjoy very favorable treatment). 3. Plenty of billionaires spend years paying no federal taxes at all. In 2007 and 2011, Bezos paid no federal income taxes, even though his wealth soared. Tesla CEO Elon Musk paid no federal income tax in 2018. His wealth growth was substantial, but he leveraged loans against his assets to avoid triggering taxable events. George Soros also managed to pay no federal income tax for three consecutive years.

And too many other people are still buying into that trickle-down economy crap. They think Bernie is too left and they hope to get rich by osmosis. Maybe if they stay in close enough to a rich person their pockets will fill.
Mainstream media and the Democratic party decide. yes, we vote but smh it's like a courtesy thing, the "party" makes the decision . The decision is not an obvious one , it's subtle like which candidate gets the most funding. It's effing sad. Both parties are afraid of change, growth, doing better, the only concern is money and power and not rocking the boat for example we have been talking about abortion rights since the 60's what has been done? I can't get my head around the tax dollars wenti nto this .
Senator Sanders remains the most popular political figure in the U.S. He has had that distinction for many years. I have followed him with interest since 1992, read his books, clipped and kept opinion pieces he has written for various newspapers, watched him on interviews, follow his online broadcasts and can say with confidence that he has been consistent throughout his life on the issues that touch the lives of all Americans: an economy that makes sense for everyone, equal rights for everyone, well-paying jobs with decent working conditions/good pensions/paid annual leave/ paid sick leave/universal healthcare/subsidised child care/ paid parental leave/renewal of infra-structure/tuition-free public education through university/protection of voting rights/graduated, fair tax system without tax loopholes that allow corporations, wealthy individuals, and political donors to pay no tax or minimal tax on obscene profits as they did in the longest period of economic growth in America from 1946-1980. Senator Sanders is still the best President America never had; its greatest spokesman for Democracy; and the fairest-minded, hardest working non-member the Democratic Party has ever had. If I could vote for him I'd do so in a heartbeat. I wish we had his like in Canada. ❤
