Now put it on a helmet that isn’t shaped like a bowling ball. I have one of these. I like it but the external battery pack is a turn off. When you have a more aerodynamic helmet, it’s almost impossible to find somewhere to mount that battery.

all i would like from them is a dedicated siri button. By siri button i'm talking about google and cortana type stuff. because i hate holding the center buttong for 2 seconds everytime i want to acess siri when i'm riding. and especially when siri messes up understanding what i'm saying, i have to hold the button again for 2 seconds to turn it on. it's very distracting. if they had a siri button i would love to get this.....i had the smh 10r but returned it because of that.

Just bought this and its an outstanding product, the sound is fantastic even for music, fitted perfectly in my Arai Rebel helmet, i even sprayed the (now grey) helmet controler matt black to match my Rebel Base White Helmet, however i strongly recommend buying it with the remote control for the handlebar as without it the functionality is greatly reduced, as always another great review from Anthony ( RevZilla )

Yes, you can ride with it in the rain. Just make sure to keep the micro-USB port on the controller properly sealed with its rubber cover. -DrewZilla

Just wish the speakers were better :-( functionality of the unit and remote is great, no complaints. The speakers are poor imo. No point listening to music as you have absolutely 0 bass. Definitely designed for the vocals, but even during calls they were not that clear and became distorted at high volume. By bike isn't overly loud but can't take a call unless below 50mph

if you want bass then figure out how to add a sub to your bike or buy a cruiser. I haven't have any issues with call quality on 100 + and its very rare that i take calls while on the bike once in a blue moon. Your on a bike unplug and enjoy if you need to make calls then downgrade to your car.

Any adhesive mounting Sena would be a great option for the N33 since it doesn't have much space for a clamp mount. So if you are look at the 50 series, the 50R would be a better choice however any Sena unit could be right if it fits your communication needs. Do the speakers fit in a Shoei Neotec? In your 10U review you said that the speakers included with the 10U were the SMH10R speakers not the 20S speakers (that are included in this 10R) as they 20S speakers didn't fit. Can I make them fit my enlarging the ear cavity on my helmet?

These speakers actually do fit when using Sena's included Velcro spacers. This also brings the speakers a bit closer to the ears, which provides better sound. You shouldn't need to mess with the cavity. -DrewZilla

+CraftingFFA They have a decent amount of bass, but you may be more satisfied with a really good pair of molded earbuds if the earbuds can block out wind noise. I'm sure other people have stated however, video is incorrect stating the 10r has Bluetooth 4.0. The 10r in fact only has Bluetooth 3.0 stated straight on the box and Sena's website.

@Drewzilla , have you had any success installing this or any other communicator device into a Bell Race Star helmet? The Race Star has no speakers cavity within it. If I buy the optional Senna slim speaker accessory would it work? Also, how thick is the slim speaker?

I have the smh 10r. got it a few months ago. my only concern is that i can't wear ear plugs with it at any speed, even standing still i can barely here music. Can i get the 20s speakers for the smh 10r, will it work or are they only for the new 10r? and will it make any difference if so.

+MrPaintballGuy91 To start, no, you cannot use the 20S speakers with the SMH10R, nor can you use the 10R speakers. I recommend getting the SMH10R earbud adapter and using low-profile molded in-ear headphones or just larger speakers. Does this come with the option to use earbuds like the SMH10R? I have an Airamada and no speaker pockets so I was looking at either this or the 20s since I know that one can take earbuds.

+Justin Reynolds Since this new 10R has separate connectors for the left and right speakers, it will not work with the SMH10R Earbud Adapter. Therefore, you may want to consider the 20S or the SMH10R with adapter. -DrewZilla

I also have an Airmada. Been using a SMH10R (the older version of this) for a while now with no problems. There are, in fact, shallow recesses where you can put the speakers, just don't use the foam shims behind the speakers.

Thanks for that never noticed that on my Airmada. Also they did now come out with an adapter to use earbuds if needed but I am still thinking of the 20s for the increased range.

I am new to motorcycle Bluetooth headsets. I am looking for something mainly for music and phones calls. I ride a Harley Davidson so my bike is pretty loud and I would like something around $100. I am looking at the Sena 10R or the smh5. Anyone have any advice?

I bought two pairsSchubert src ystem one for me and one for my wife, both of them had several problems, My wifes i think is still working,we dont use them anymore beacause mine after the expiry of guarantee they couldnt do anything!!! so i would like to ask if anyone knows,if i bought the One that everybody is recommending(sena 10u)it will match with schuberth src?

The SRC and Sena 10U for Schuberth can pair via the 10U's universal intercom pairing feature, but the intercom distance is slightly reduced. If you ride together as rider and passenger, this wouldn't be an issue. -DrewZilla

The speakers and microphone will fit inside, but the controller and battery will be on the outside of course. You will need to mount the speakers to the cheek pad bases beneath the removable cheek pad fabric covers. -DrewZilla

Hi, 3 questions: 1. It's clear that the 10S can trigger voice command on your phone (like saying 'ok google' or 'hey siri'). Is this what the middle button does on the 10R? 2. How easy is it to switch between bluetooth connection and FM radio? Also, how good is the FM reception? - Most FM radios would require an aerial to get a decent signal, I'd have thought.. 3. The speakers on my previous set (blinc m1) was a clumsy fit and my ears would sometimes rip the velcro off when I put the helmet on. Is this better & how? Has anyone else had this problem? I noticed the 10U is fully fixed to avoid this problem but you need the exact right helmet to fit it. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Because the middle button on the 10R is multi-functional and duration-dependent, it does not function the same as holding down the dedicated phone button on the 10S to activate a phone's voice command. I haven't been able to activate Siri/Google Assistant with the 10R. As for the radio, it's pretty easy to switch between radio and Bluetooth. The speaker wires act as an antenna, but reception isn't great. I don't have any issues with the speakers coming loose, but it depends on your ears and your helmet. -DrewZilla

Haha, yea I guess it doesn't help that I have ridiculous dumbo ears... FM radio is a big factor for me, but I guess anything short of having an antenna sticking out the top of my helmet will be the best I can do. I'm really sorry to hear your last phone experience was less than expected. Let me see if I can address your question. If you want a communicator with universal pairing, please first understand that you can only pair to one communicator from a different brand. The Sena 20S, 10S, 10U, and 10R all offer universal intercom pairing as do the Cardo PackTalk, Cardo SmartPack, and Interphone models. With the Sena models, you can have four-way intercom with three Senas and one non-Sena or two Senas and two non-Senas (for example, you pair each Sena with one of the non-Senas then pair the two Senas together). The same is true of the Cardo and Interphone. If you just need to pair with one non-Sena user, then I recommend the 20S, 10S, or the 10R. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

We haven't carried Chatterbox for awhile now, and they've been losing popularity as smaller Bluetooth communicators have gained popularity. Sure! You can technically install a Bluetooth unit on any helmet with enough ingenuity and elbow grease. Some helmets are just designed to accept those units better (i.e with speaker pockets, etc) but the Pista does not have any of those since it is a purely race designed helmet. You can still install the unit onto the Pista, but it will likely take some thought to connect it up. - Pat

Both. If you enable music sharing on your Sena 10R, then you could share your music with your passenger's Sena 10R. Your passenger can also use her own phone to listen to her music. You guys need to be a little more honest in your presentations and tell the customers what Sena units can’t have the batteries replaced. Some Sena units are total throw away if the battery dies outside the manufacturers warranty!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

If you use the adhesive-backed Velcro mounts, you can easily move the controller from helmet to helmet. With the charging port closed, it's waterproof. It fits the newer K3 SV, but with the older K3 cheek pads, there isn't a lot of room for speakers. This Sena 10R can still be installed, but there may be comfort issues with the speakers. -DrewZilla

New 10r as shown in the video. If you go to the PLAY store you will see everyone has complained about this and most ratings are 1 star. It otherwise connects fine manually but annoying its not supported.

I don't believe so, unless the AGV speakers include a standard 3.5mm male plug. If the AGV speakers have that standard 3.5mm plug, you would then also need to purchase the Sena 10R Earbud Adapter Split Cable. Hold the center button on the 10R until you hear "universal intercom pairing" from the speakers. Then on the F5MC, press the up and middle buttons to enter setup mode. Then press the up button until you reach the "Anycom Search" function. The two intercoms should then pair. -DrewZilla

NONE why would you want more on your helmet or distractions for that matter track the bike and stop worrying about the social life if you cant handle that then you shouldn't be on the track. Not to mention Im pretty sure most track day organizations will find it to be a safety issue and not allow it.

Additionally, once the Pro Shade visor is removed, the black pivot points of the Pro Shade system are still attached to the clear visor. If you don't like the Pro Shade visor system that comes installed on the Arai Signet-Q Pro-Tour Tactical Helmet, we recommend getting a standard Arai SAI face shield to use with the helmet instead.
