Backstory:
I got my Sena 50S in 2020 and battery life was great at first. One full charge could easily last me multiple rides. After a while I notice the low battery warning would come on a lot sooner. My last ride, the battery died after 1 hour of riding. I contacted Sena support which they gladly took a replacement under warranty. However I did not want to wait too long so I chose to try and replace my battery instead.

Great tutorial! I had the same issue with my 50S, after three year of operation; I got in touch with the local (Italy) after sales service and they they replied that battery replacement is not a service they provide, and suggested that I purchase a new intercom 🤬 I have followed your instructions and replacing the battery was very easy. Now my intercom has a new life, with the new 1150 mAh battery 🙂 THANKS!!!

Thanks for the video man. I was wiggling the pcb but it wasn’t coming out so I decided to look for a how to. Your video is like the only thing out there. Realized I just wasn’t giving it enough oomph. Also I agree on the not wanting to wait for warranty. 2 day shipping from Amazon. 20 minutes of work and I’m back to having my music while riding. And I got a slightly larger capacity. Stock was 1000mah replacement was 1150mah.

Thanks for this. I was able to change my Sena battery in no time. I went by Option 2 - Removing the bottom panel. If anyone is interested in knowing, the glue on the bottom is just double side tissue tape, nothing special. So its easy to replace if needed. Since you anyway need to remove the bottom panel while reinstalling the mainboard, removing the connector in option 2 is the safest means if going about this process!

👏 THANK YOU!!! Seriously, thank you. I need to get this done ASAP on my Sena 50R. I'm thinking the PCB should be same layout except the your 50s has the wheel and my 50R has buttons. Great upload.. Excellent video. I spent the most time trying Option 2 and could not get it to budge, and option 1 worked fine. About 10 minutes total.

Good vid. Definitely use option 2 for the PCB removal. No need to remove the antenna - just be careful. Also recommend thin double sided tap so battery is secure in the cradle.

Do you or anyone else reading this know if replacement antennas are available?

Do not need to disconnect antenna. Do NOT remove the rubber seal. You can not reinstall the seal once the board is reinstalled. I found it IMPOSSIBLE to reinstall the PCB with your instructions. I did option 2, removed the bottom connector. Doing option 2 was the hot ticket.
