That's why its called Postal Service and not Postal Business. They're there to serve the American citizens. We can send a letter from our house to the house of someone on the other side of the country for .55 cents, they couldn't do that if they were a company for profit. If you have a legit address anywhere in the United States, the USPS will deliver and pick up your mail. That's mainly because citizens need to be in contact with the government when it's time to vote.

I have been getting my VA meds via USPS for 10 years. What used to arrive in 2-to-4 days, has taken 7+days to arrive the last few months. I live in a major metropolitan area. And we love our mail carriers and Post Office clerks. DeJoy is a skunk in a suit. Period!

@@hallohallo1332 No can do. One of the VA's efficiencies is only dispensing 30 days' worth at a time. If pills get lost or damaged [wet, etc.], there are 30 or fewer doses affected. That saves money, too. It used to be that no matter one's party affiliation, "mesddling with the Vets and the VA" was off-limits, so disrupting our mailed Rxs and appointment reminders is unacceptable... but what do you expect from a known coward?

He also never explained his reason for slowing down packages. People are depending on medication and medical supplies that's not being delivered in a timely fashion. ICU4life !!!! Those machines were being removed and dismantled, several years ago, I believe it started in 2011, Mr DeJoy only took this position this year, in July. The slowdown was caused by the postal workers, being affected by Covid. With quarantine issues, of the workers, or family members! More than 250,000 were off work! No replacement workers, or not enough to fill the need! He could not know how the virus would affect the USPS! He is not a psychic! I understand about the meds! I was on prescriptions by mail, and some of them were lost, But that was over a year ago! S### happens! I had to reorder my meds! Had nothing to do with Covid!

The machines that were supposed to be dismantled were not first class letter sorters. The machines that sorted magazine were suppose to go due to online ordering. During the Covid outbreak the Post Office has hired thousands of temporary employees because the mail volume increased dramatically. Postal workers were and still are essential workers. DeJoy has slowed down mail delivery by taking out machines that are very much needed to process mail. Postal workers are left to do the job of a machine and trucks leave their stations empty or with very little processed mail on them to be delivered. DeJoy conducted no case studies as to how his decisions would impact American people. He jus chose to dismantle machines in swing and Democratic states. This pattern has already been tracked.
So, removing 65 Sorting machines that process 30,000 pieces of mail an hour, and mailboxes all across the nation wont slow down the mail ? Thats 1,200,000 pieces of mail in a 40 hour week, for 1 sorting machine. Thats 78,000,000 pieces of mail for all 65 machines, for just ONE WEEK.
But that's unimportant mail, like mail-in ballots for Joe Biden, so it's no biggie. ;-) Surely, DeJoy who has a history in logistics must know that reducing capacity rarely if ever improves or maintains throughput. Perhaps that would be true if those sorting machines were mostly inactive because of massive over-capacity in the USPS, but that's hardly the case. It's quite obvious to anyone except for Republican Senators that DeJoy is sabotaging either the government, the election of both.

Most people have mail boxes at there place of residents, who honestly still uses those blue boxes anymore???? It not suprising they have been removing them, why pay for upkeep and the time it takes to check them all of no one is using them, if company’s don’t update with the times and technologies they will fail... it’s really not that hard to figure out.... the usps have been failing for years this man is trying to save it...

All it did was eliminate OT and change sorting time from A.M. to P.M. in my mind, I think it's because there are a lot of mailmen doing their sorting in the morning and after they get out to deliver, they would take as much time as they want to finish their route. Since they cannot be fired, just like with any other business, you get guys exploiting OT and it causes the entire Post Office to operate later wasting tax payers dollars. All it did was make it so that they deliver immediately in the a.m. and do tomorrows sorting in the P.M. making them more liable if they're slacking. That is quite literally tightening the reigns to cut costs.......🤦🏿♂️ The removal of unused boxes or ones that are being replaced, I could be wrong, but I think that was purely propaganda. It happens all the time.
